  1. Jeff Sagarin NFL ratings

    Buffalo Bills = 24.85

    Miami Dolphins = 16.60 + 3 for home field

Would be Bills by 5 points

The betting line from USA today shows them as 0, 1 and 1.5 point favorites

I personally think the Bills by 10

Chad will only be throwing the short stuff .. would hope the Bills play the receivers tight .. bump hard at the line .. disrupt any timing routes ... and BLITZ heavy ...

I hope they crush the Fish !

  2. This had to have been first written by my youngest brother .. he is 40 .. HUGE dolphin fan ... of course .. as you would guess ... is 40 and lives at home with my 80 year old parents ... loves to talk the Fin trash also ... as Mom and Dad pays his way ... he also loves to talk about the 1972 and 1973, when he was a whole 4 or 5 years old ... he has been a whole lot more quiet the last few years .. as they have been one of the worst run and worst teams in the league.

And then when you look at the history of the players they have, run ins with the law, smoking the dope ... its a wonder they have the wins they have.

I think Sunday will be ugly ... like about a 30 point win for the Bills ... Fins better be hoping for snow ... opps ... I mean rain in their half full stadium ...

  3. Current record of 2-5, just what I assumed it would be. Thought the two wins would be Jets and Detroit ... but record wise just what I expected.

Following is based on a couple of things happening:

Defense is improved against the run with a health Spikes

This allows the pass defense to improve

O line improves over course of rest of year with players in correct positions

JP has more time to play within him self and not feel like its him or no one

Receivers as a group improve slightly with better decisions from JP

Running game improves slightly with better line

None of these in iteself is a big deal but if 4 of the 6 happen I think the following is possible

    Nov. 5 Green Bay 1:00pm

Winnable game at home. Bills by 7 3-5 record

    Bills win by 14 ....

    Nov. 12 @ Indianapolis 1:00pm

Definate loss, could be ugly, Colts by 18 3-6 record

Bills lose by 1 ... that in itself was great ! Still correct at 3-6

    Nov. 19 @ Houston 1:00pm

Will be an underdog on the road. Hoping that 2 games with the new line is making a difference. Bills by 3 4-6 record

Bills win ... correct again ....

    Nov. 26 Jacksonville 1:00pm

This will be a game that would be an upset of they win but if they are doing 4 of the 6 items above, is winable. Bills lose by 3 4-7 recors

They are doing the things above, so they steal a win

    Dec. 3 San Diego 1:00pm

If the weather is nice, Chargers will roll, if the wather is a nasty december day will be close. Bills lose by 10 4-8 record

Thye lose but play them hard right to the end ...

    Dec. 10 @ NY Jets 1:00pm

Bills win a game they should have win the first time Bills by 10 5-8 record

Correct again ! So they are 6-7 and doing as I thought !!

    Dec. 17 Miami 1:00pm

Miami's season will be long over and would not be shocked to see a new coach. Bills by 7 6-8 record

    Dec. 24 Tennessee 1:00pm

This is a tossup game - if either has a chance for the playoffs could be important, but doubt it will be. Home game for the Bills in the snow Bills by 3 7-8 record

    Dec. 31 @ Baltimore 1:00pm

Can't see they winning this unless Baltimore has folded for some reason or already in. Bills lose by 10 7-9 record

Shame is 7-9 gets you nothing, not even a good draft pick. You stay in the middle of the pack and do not improve.

    Thoughst?

  5. We made our yearly trek with 16 friends and family to the game ... and here are some thoughts from yesterday:

    1) thinking as we stood in the rain, cooking our lunch as the jug of coco exploded and was everywhere .. not a good omen

    2) as we were about to go in and noticed one of the tires was almost flat - not a good omen

    3) Got to our seat sand wondered if we were at the right game - seemed like half the people had NE stuff on - not a good omen

    4) Watched the bills implode with bad plays and NE being NE

    5) More people yelling for NE than the Bills around us - even had a chant going a couple of times - talk about no respect at an away game - not that we deserve any

    6) Watched 3 guys two rows ahead of us get busted for smoking dope ... and all 3 covered head to toe in Bills gear ... NE guy sitting across the aisle stands up and yells ... "Go Bills" as they leave with the cops - was funny !

    7) get to the car .. will not start .. need a jump .. and limp out looking for air for the tire ...

Now makes the 5th straight lose we have attended .. none close .. all disappointing. I noticed that eve the crowd does not seem to care. Some half hearted efforts to cheer a couple of times but in general you know what you get with this team ... and it is not much. You watch NE and if you do not realize the HUGE gap between the two just open your eyes. We are in the bottom 5 teams and getting worse.

    Yuck !

  6. Fortifying a position that represented one of their biggest needs, the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday night reached a contract agreement in principle with unrestricted free-agent defensive tackle Sam Adams, who played the past three seasons with the Buffalo Bills.

Financial details of the contract were not yet available, but sources said Adams can make about $4 million in 2006 if he reaches certain playing time and performance levels. The deal will likely not be signed until the weekend. There are still some details to be completed and it is believed the Bengals want Adams to take a physical exam before the deal is officially executed.

A three-time Pro Bowl performer and the kind of "anchor" tackle who occupies blockers and allows the linebackers to flow to the football, Adams should represent a major addition for a Cincinnati defense that statistically ranked No. 20 against the rush in 2005. The Bengals have been looking for a wide-body tackle in free agency the last several years but were never able to sign one.

Under coach Marvin Lewis, the Bengals have surprisingly struggled against the run, finishing 25th in 2003 and 26th in 2004 against the ground game. The presence of Adams, long regarded as one of the NFL's premier inside defenders, should certainly help address that shortcoming. Adams was the No. 24 player overall in the ESPN.com free-agent rankings.

Adams, 32, will probably team with John Thornton in the starting lineup. That would leave veteran Bryan Robinson and promising youngster Shaun Smith in reserve and give the Bengals one of the deepest and best tackle rotations in the league.

A key for the Bengals will be to maximize Adams' effectiveness by limiting the number of snaps he plays. That should not be a problem, given that Lewis was the defensive coordinator in Baltimore when Adams helped the Ravens win Super Bowl XXXV in 2000.

The Bengals will be Adams' fifth team, as he previously played with Seattle (1994-99), Baltimore (2000-01), Oakland (2002) and Buffalo (2003-05). The former Texas A&M star has 375 tackles, 42 sacks, six forced fumbles, five recoveries, three interceptions and 32 pass deflections in 179 games.

His abilities against the run aside, Adams has demonstrated the ability to compress the pocket from the inside during his career. As recently as 2004, he registered five sacks, but the Bengals will rely on him primarily to clog the middle.

  7. "For the second straight year beledsoe falls one gem short at least this time he doesnt have to really play for it tonight llike he had to do last year against Pittsburg 2nd and 3rd stringers.

Since you can't spell .. what makes you think you have a clue about football?

Take Drew over the pair we have anyday !!

I would LOVE to see Drew make the Super Bowl while the people who said he was washed up .. get to watch it on TV !

    Go Drew !

  8. Watched the entire game ... wondered what new and interesting ways the Bills would find to lose ... which they did ...

    What I learned today :

    1) We wasted another chance for Losman to grow ...

    2) Kelly is a backup at best - seems to go to the primary receiver time and time again no matter how he is covered

    3) We lack a quality running back - who can stay in the game for all 3 downs - I am not impressed WM has over 100 yards - its pitafull he is seldom in on 3rd downs - can't he block or catch?

    4) Peters is a beast - I watched he closely for a lot of the game - his man never beat him - he pushes him right out of the play

    5) Play calling is either awful - or its being changed at the line - as they continue to throw 3 yard passed on 3rd and eight

    6) Special teams is human - for all their great play can't blame them for the lose - defence is contantly beat and offence can'tscore

    7) Bills have better fans - did you see all those empty seats in the largest city in America !

    8) We saw a typical Sam Atams gane - 3 takles - 2 sacks - all in teh first 6 minutes - its showed he had 16 tackles for the year - boy ! 1 a game !!

Hard to even list the places to work on - also hard to see who stays and goes. I know people want to clean house but I think the D needs some small changes not wholesale while the biggest problem for the offense is the line and play calling that uses the skills the team has better.

All in all a sad season to watch ... not sure who to rut for in the playoffs .. maybe Seattle ... someone having a good year that is a big underdog .. will at least be use to rooting for an underdog !!

Have a good new year !

  10. That just qualifies as the most pitiful game I have EVERY seen ... WORSE than the Houston deafeat we sat thru at trh Ralph a few years back ...

I don't even know where to start .. the whole team is a terrible ...

Well at least the "playoff" talks can end .. looking at the remaining games .. even the Jets is a MAYBE !!!

    *shaking my head*

Am I said "no way they can lose ... and my wife said .. Bit they are the Bills !!

    Great !

  11. I think the really question is "Short term wins" or " Long term success" ....

The team os 3-5, 9-7 MIGHt make the playoffs .. and then what .. a one game run at best ...

Remaining games and would need 6 wins ...

    Nov. 13 Kansas City 4-3 30% chance

    Nov. 20 @ San Diego 4-4 10% chance

    Nov. 27 Carolina 5-2 10% chance

    Dec. 4 @ Miami 3-4 50% chance

Dec. 11 New Bruschi (We're not worthy!) 4-3 30% chance (I know almost one in NE, big deal)

    Dec. 17 Denver 6-2 10% chance

    Dec. 24 @ Cincinnati 6-2 0% chance

    Jan. 1 @ NY Jets 2-5 90% chance

2-3 wins ..maybe ..with either QB ..

So if that IS the case then lets get JP's rookie "learning" out of the way ... unless he is useless ... in that case still go with him and get a decent draft pick order

Either way ... looks like its JP time .. and fairly unwatchable football

  12. Reality: 2-3 in the division and although maybe the equal to the Jets with no QB or Miami with no offense .. we are still highly unlike to make the playoffs or be over .500

Even if .500 and using Kelly at OB is that worth a year of Losman on the bench?

The defense and special teams are average at best compared to what we needed them to do to cover a rookie QB. The run defense is awful and the pass defence only looks god because no one needs to pass in the 2nd half as we are behind.

Running offense is based on the OL line and even Willis can't run on his own (best back in the league - what is he smoking !!!)

The OL is patch work at best, the DL is no better.

The play calling has no imagination after the first few series.

So why wait to have Losman learn under fire? Does it matter if we are 8-8 or 4-12? Either way we miss the playoffs?

People say that we have a decent chance to still make the playoffs - that would mean at least 9-7 so we have to go 7-4 the rest of the way. Who do we beat to get 7 wins ? Not many winable games let with this team. The first 5 were the most likely.

So I say start playing Losman .. even speel him with Kelly if he is out of control but then settle him down and send him in.

Otherwise we are still having a rookie NEXT year !!

    Comments?

  13. Some how I think you most own this LP ...

    Here's a little song I wrote

You might want to sing it note for note

    Don't worry, be happy

In every life we have some trouble

But when you worry you make it double

    Don't worry, be happy

    Don't worry, be happy now

Don't worry, be happy Don't worry, be happy

Don't worry, be happy Don't worry, be happy

Ain't got no place to lay your head

Somebody came and took your bed

    Don't worry, be happy

The landlord say your rent is late

    He may have to litigate

    Don't worry, be happy

    Don't worry, be happy

Don't worry, be happy, Don't worry, be happy

Don't worry, be happy, Don't worry, be happy

With JP on the sidelines ... how does he get game experiance?

The OL pass blocks like stiffs ...

Don't run block much better ...

D' is a sieve against the run ...

And the coaching and play calling ... is awful ..

    BUT

    Don't worry, be happy

    Don't worry, be happy

    Don't worry, be happy

    Don't worry, be happy

    Don't worry, be happy

    Don't worry, be happy

    Don't worry, be happy

    Don't worry, be happy

    Don't worry, be happy

    Don't worry, be happy

    Don't worry, be happy

    Don't worry, be happy

  14. What I saw ....

Buffalo 17 points first half .... 3 points in the second

    total yards ... Miami 323, Buffalo 236

Miami had more yards rushing and passing

Buffalo ran 36 times and averaged 2.6 yards .. yuck

Miami had 18 penalties and a couple more we did not accept

Buffalo had the ball 35 minutes to 24 minutes for Miami

Did Holcomb have a throw over 15 yards ,, not counting the run after???

Gained around 100 yards in their last 9 positions and scored 3 poinst

and then one play saved them from having Miami win ..

    2nd and 6 at BUF 25 (1:47) (Shotgun) G.Frerotte pass to R.Brown to BUF 14 for 11 yards (N.Clements, L.Fletcher). FUMBLES (N.Clements), RECOVERED by BUF-T.Vincent at BUF 18. Caught at BUF 24, right side.

And we think this win against a BAD team is worth having JP sit and learn what???

Big mistake ... would rather see him take his lumps now ... this team is n playoff team .. so might as well break in a rookie !!!

If you want to see what a good solid OL gets you .. turn on the Philly Dallas game and watch Drew hit man after man ....

  15. Start JP and let the kid learn .. its not like the D is going to win any games ... and its better to take the lumps now instead of dragging it out ... Kelly is only needed if its a WINNABLE game with a lead and JP is hurt ... otherwise why did they make the move ... Drew would have been at least this effective. JP is the future and that means now.
