Ziggy Ansah didn't dominate in college.   He really only played defense his final year at BYU,  when he had a modest 4.5 sacks.   He had 8 as an NFL rookie.

Mohritz Boehringer was a story of a crazy size/speed talent who didn't make it.   9.98 RAS.

Fine. “Dominate” might’ve been too strong sounding. Let’s just say he stood out as a man among boys on the field. I live in Utah and have watched/ followed BYU closely for a long time. He was very impressive.  Of course that’s no guarantee, just saying.

my point is when you possess the tangles that cannot be coached, possibilities can be very strong.

  2. I realize many scoff at this experiment, but let’s recall the story of Ezekiel “Ziggy” Ansah. Long story short, he came from Ghana to try to play basketball at BYU. It never panned out. He tried track and did well, with sprinter like speed, in addition to being really big and strong. He was quickly encouraged to walk-on the BYU football team. Never played the sport in his life!

Being big, fast and strong, he started to dominate. After college he became the 5th overall pick in the 2013 draft.

    You just never know!

  3. Take this fwiw… I’m close to an FSU booster and diehard. Almost over the top. She also writes for sports editorials (lower level but still)… I know Keon may have weaknesses, but I asked her for an unbiased overview on him just in casual texting… The reply (again fwiw, agree or not):

“He transferred from michigan state and we only had him for one year but he was the most athletic guy on the field just a freak athlete guy. He’s one of the big reasons we had a such an incredible season! It’s an absolute steal if the bills get him with the 33rd pick he was projected to go earlier! But his hands are so good and I think he’s only 20 and has a big future ahead. Very comparable to the big time wr’s like Jamarr Chase I think he would be a great replacement for Diggs and Allen will have fun with him because he will be in the league for a long time. He’s the best receiver to come out of FSU in the past decade for sure! It’s a great pick for the Bills, I think he would fit in really well especially with such a stud qb!”

I'm in London right now crushing it in the gym 4 hours ahead of Buffalo.

Knowing what we know now, on Day 2, what would your plan be if you were GM?

Me, I think I sit tight at this point and let things settle.

    Beane plugged some holes.

If I'm him, I see what happens at safety and edge over the coming weeks.

My guess is there will be some value at safety.

If I had to make a move, I would make a run at Chase Young ( see what I did there?) and see if he is willing to go mercenary and sign a 2 year deal (that really is a one year prove it) like Floyd did last year.

BTW, saw Chelsea vs Northampton last night. Must say it was fun but not really thrilling like so many soccer fans suggest. Atmosphere was more polite than raucous. The Northampton fans were in one section and shouted the entire match(did I get that right?). The Chelsea folks mostly sat and watched. It was a Monday night. No beer in the stands and their main beer was Singha which is their sponsor.

Thank you for letting us know where you are and what you are doing. We’ve all been worried sick wondering about those 2 specifics! Go Bills!!

  5. The Bills have not even been close to covering the spreads the last few games...well, mostly with the games they have been favored in.  That said, this team needs to send a message Monday night. They are currently favored by 7, but IMO, no excuse why they shouldn't win by 17!  Regardless, they need to fix things and this is the best and last real time to show they are serious. We are running out of weekends. Handle the Broncs convincingly, then do the same to the Jets.  After that, they take a stroll down murderers row, but IF they get thigs right these next two games, there is NO reason we can't regain that needed swager and get back on the track we all expected!

  6. Josh just flat aims for the fences most every time. With that, he will occasionally hit some homers, and they simply become intoxicating for him. When he does actually hit a single, he attempts to stretch it into a double, or a clear double trying to become a triple, and gets thrown out a  lot because of it. Okay enough of the baseball analogies.... Football is a game of inches and requires discipline and patience. I know he wants to be everyone's friend/hero and really is a great guy and amazing talent.  But if it means Diggs gets fewer attempts in order to methodically move the chains, then so be it!  Some people find it hard to take what the defense gives them. I think last night just may have a big enough impact on him that he will learn from it and make adjustments.  I still believe this team will be fine this season.

  7. As a guy from Utah, who hated Kincaid...ONLY b/c he played for Utah (lol ...BYU fan here), it is undeniable how talented he is. I was happy to see him move on. You have mega consistency, and sure hands with him. He really has all the tools and will be a star I believe (judging from watching lots of his college games) It was home run draft pick, imo...NOW I love the guy!  Being a sports fan can be complicated sometimes.

my one question was where in Williamsville did you stay? If it was the Marriot on Millersport highway or one of the other hotels here there. It’s a nice spot but not anything in walking distance really. It’s a few minute drive to the Niagara Falls Blvd and Maple area where there is a bunch of options. But nothing amazing really. Mostly chain restaurants.

Great information everybody. Thank you so much! Bills fans are the best. When we stayed in Williamsville, we stayed at the Tru by Hilton near the airport. I loved it!

Some places you can visit, stay on a conveniently located central location and access many things, often on foot or short taxi/Uber. Buffalo/Western New York region is not such a place.

“ Buffalo” is actually a myriad of towns and villages that are suburbs of the downtown area which itself isn’t a compact area offering walking distance attractions.

As SoMAn asked, What are you looking to do, what interests you and are there age or health limitations?

For me, if I’m bringing someone to the area who’s never been there it going to be a mix of sight seeing and eating.

First off a big thank you to everyone taking time to reply. I know the question is kind of obnoxious and you probably hear it all the time. Super appreciate the time you spent helping out.

There are fortunately is no health limitation’s with anybody so walking is not a problem. A couple of people in the group were interested in a little shopping, also in any attractions. We are 100% doing the falls, and all have passports!  I realize it’s not a huge city and personally I’m grateful. Ha ha. Really just open to any and everything. Last year when it was just me and my boy, we only had time for a couple of meals before we had to fly back after the game. We went to Duffs and Picassos pizza both were  absolutely delicious!  Anyway, I hope that clarifies the expectations a little bit and I know it’s vague… your replies are super helpful.

  11. Hey gang, last year me and my son made our first ever visit to Buffalo from Utah and went to a SNF game v GB. The entire experience was the BEST! Thank you!  We are doing it again, this time I am creating 3 MORE bills fans to bring along (wife, daughter and son in law. the last 2 coming  from Alberta Canada).  Please recommend areas to stay in. Last time was a hotel in Williamsville  it was nice, but they want a place to walk around and see stuff thats not so spread out. Maybe shopping etc. (in addition to Bills Store!!). lol...

Where do you guys recommend if you would please help me out, that would be great!  Prefer a nicer area...  Thank you locals in advance. MUCH appreciated!!

  12. Not sure if this was already discussed, so sorry if repeat...but did you guys notice on 4th and 18 catch by Jefferson, if Cam had simply tried to bat the ball down instead of going for the int, game over!  He seemed to assist the ball getting secured by Jefferson while going for the pick!  Its $th down. just knock it away!!

  13. Hey all first time here! Me and my boy (he's actually 21) are heading out from Utah to check off a HUGE bucket list item by going to Buffalo to catch a Bills game! Coming out to see the Bills-Packers 10/30!!  Never been to the east coast before, let alone Buffalo, but we are BEYOND STOKED!  Lots of people I know are way jealous and asked me to share first hand the tailgating experience with them.  We are not looking to crash anyones tailgate party, but I do want to video a few things while we take in the atmosphere and savor the experience!   The Mafia is legendary, even to all the football fans in good ole’ Utah!  I cannot wait to put on my #17 Jersey and represent with all the fans!  Funny, my son is a life-long Packer fan, but just told me the Bills are his second fav team and he will buy a Bills hoodie!  lol

We are staying in Williamsville and I think we are taking Rally bus to and from Highmark. Any recommendations or areas to roam for 3 hours prior to kickoff? I heard there is the Bills store in the stadium which I can't wait.  Just wondered if there were certain areas of the parking lots to wander in order to take in the big time tail gating experience?  Anyway just wanted to chime in..  GO BILLS!!!

    Thanks all!!
