  1. Born, raised, and still reside in central PA (split of Eagles/Steelers fans predominantly). First sports memory as a kid is ‘86/87 Penn State upsetting Testaverde/Irvin Canes in Fiesta Bowl. I followed Shane Conlan to the Bills and have been hooked since. Funny how much more Bills gear has popped up in my area over the last 5 years.

Cook is the worst 'pass catching' RB I've seen in awhile. Dude has stone hands.

He doesn't have stone hands which is the really frustrating part.  I think it is a concentration issue.  The corner route he ran from the backfield for a TD against Dallas is a catch stone hands receivers don't make.  Way too many drops for his skillset.

It was just a poor throw, poor decision

    But it didn’t cost us

What should he do?? Eat the ball and turn it over on downs? After passing on Kincaid in the flat.. which he should have thrown, you absolutely have to throw the ball and take a chance on 4th down. I have seen many NFL and college players screw this up and pick off the pass rather than knock it down. Shocking to me that this is happening so frequently.

The way we knifed through Miami's defense only to crap ourselves in the red zone...has become a bit of a trend.

I feel like too much changes down there, we take longer getting plays in, and we play a bit more on our heels. We need some good RedZone work this week and execution on our go-to plays.

The talking heads stress the INTs, but miss that Knox was obviously held on one possession, that pass to Cook that he dropped was so money, and Allen was half a second off from pulling the trigger and leading Ty Johnson in a way where I feel he gets in before the half.

They are really close and I think Allen is getting some of that swagger and confidence back that was causing him to delay throws a bit or turn down throws.

Been a while since he was himself and that is good to see. You could see the ball was coming out really good even when having to throw from odd platforms eluding the rush.

Other than that it was just having better execution and having some blitz beaters down there, some better blocking from our RB (asking Cook to pick up blitzers is hit or miss so maybe more Fournette down there) or go heavy max protect if you think plays are going to take time developing.

Exactly this...The TD throw to Knox in the 4th qtr illustrated that confidence and trust which rather apparently re-appeared in the 2nd half.

-In the 1st half, 1st drive he had Gilliam open on a flat route for a TD immediately but didn't let it rip and held the ball longer on the play. This was the non-call PI on Knox.

-On 4th down on the 2nd drive he had Kincaid right away on a flat route for the 1st down but held it and ended up throwing the "Punt" Int that Davis was injured on.

-The TD throw to Knox in the 4th qtr was decisive and immediate.

He needs to trust his instincts and let it rip...not default back to play-making mode as much which I think he tends to do when he doubts his decision making and eyes.

I find that to be optimistic....probably 60% is about right.  I do think they'll make it and I think they'll beat Miami, but beating a playoff team on the road can't be super high odds and I think there's little chance Steelers or Jaguars lose.  The NYT calculator probably considers likelihood of Ravens beating Steelers based on their past performances but probably doesn't take into account that Ravens have clinched and won't play many of their starters.

Nope it is pretty simple math. All 3 things have to happen for Bills to miss playoffs. Based on betting odds, assume roughly 60% chance Steelers win, 60% chance Jags win, 45% chance Bills lose. Probability of all 3 occurring and missing playoffs is (.6)*(.6)*(.45)=.162 or 16.2%.

Don't flare the personal protector right and we can pick up guys if they break through...or, just effing block the rusher

Agree. That was insane. I think Hamlin (the personal protector) was correct in executing the play call as he looped around immediately to go into downfield coverage. Why you would have the personal protector do that is beyond anything I understand as it completely opens up a direct line to the punter.

  7. The Oline (specifically the tackles) can't be absolved of all blame.  However, there are two issues with Josh:

    1. Last season because of the porous play at Guard (Saffold especially), Josh couldn't step up in the pocket on a regular basis and his brain became trained to bail.  This is an issue for the tackles as they do need to drive the pass rush deep at times which is what Dawkins did on the first 3rd and 2 play and backing up took Josh into the rush.  I think this is the biggest reason why Torrence was drafted and McGovern was signed so that the middle of the pocket could be more solid and provide a place to step up into the throw.  Hopefully these two don't get beat immediately or knocked backwards off the LOS as was the case at Guard far too frequently in '22.  Josh will need to adjust to trusting the Guards and Morse to solidify the area directly in front of him to step up into the pocket and not bail.

    2. Josh at times needs to take the easy check-down throws and not rely on bailing the pocket (mostly to his preferred right side) for big plays.  This is easier said than done as big plays are his nature and you don't want to completely remove that threat.

Wish we knew what the play call and the responsibilities were on that second down. Seemed more than just the Bengals blew it up.

3rd down incompletion was a bad pass not a drop. A good pass and Cole scores probably untouched. It was a great route and good play design. Josh has to deliver a catchable ball. He did not. Every ball that touches a hand is not a catchable ball and not always a drop.

It was going to be a run by Motor but the Corner on McKenzie didn't follow him across with his Jet Motion.  Instead when McKenzie motioned, that Corner blitzed and Spencer Brown couldn't get to him in time as they weren't expecting that blitz.  Josh sensed that handing it off would have been a 5 yard loss and kept the ball.  You can see in Diggs' reaction up top as he clearly thought it was a running play and made no attempt to run a route.  Dion Dawkins was also downfield leading you to believe it was a run.
