  1. According to banged up bills and some other reports, Bernard is a pain management issue.  He has instability in his ankle from a previous injury.  There is a chance they just tape it up and fill the ankle with pain meds.

he may not play but I think there is a real chance he does.

No, the Bills are losing to the Jets because they will dominant the battle in the trenches. The Bills are still weak there.

The Jets are more physical and it's a bad match up for the Bills. Think Pittsburg and Tennessee if you will.

The difference maker last year was mostly the QB position. The Jets closed the gap tremendously. Rodgers won't be asked to be Superman in NY. Delvin Cook broke off a huge run last year and another wouldn't surprise me especially because the Jets like to pound the rock. Likely Cook will be extra motivated.

It's a  opening Monday night game on September 11th in NY. What a frenzy and home field advantage the Jets have. HUGE!!! How can the refs not favor the Jets! We all should get prepared for a ref fuc#ing.

The team looks to be limping into this game. The offense and defense looks somewhat  unenthusiastic, unmotivated, or perhaps floundering. I know many we revert to it being preseason and no need to be alarmed. I get that. However, it doesn't bode confidence in my mind.

Lastly, you have to keep in mind the coaching factor. McD has a lot on his plate and who knows how Dorsey responds under serve duress. Perhaps another tablet is DOA.

I don't see the Bills offense consistently moving the ball in the Jets. Their defense matches up well with Buffalo. The Bills oline is a work in progress. Nowhere near refined or cohesive. Their dline will win more battles than they lose. Not to mention they have one of the best secondaries in the league. Besides Diggs the Bills have a bunch of fill ins. Don't believe the Gabe Davis hype.

The Bills are experience and have Allen. That alone should keep the game somewhat close.

In the end, the Bills have too much to overcome. No Von, home field advantage, poor ref calls, McD first game as coach and DC, Dorsey?, no MLB, and a oline that is a work in progress. This is the Jets Superbowl sort of speak.

    Bills lose by 10.

when you say “think Pittsburgh and Tennessee”. Are we thinking the same two teams they beat by a combined 79-10 last year?

oh I see, you’re taking stock in a preseason game… gotcha.

ESPN, of all outlets, threw up a tantalizing infographic (highlighting a VERY SMALL sample size). Unfortunately, I'm suddenly unable to recall exact parameters, but it went something like this:

Last/only three teams to add in one offseason two offensive skill players with four or more pro bowl appearances (possibly over a controlled/recent span).

    Team Acquisitions Outcome
    2023 Jets Rodgers, Cook tbd
2020 Bucs Brady, Brown Won SB
??? ??? (very frustrating) Won SB

Probably kind of easy to identify the 3rd team that did it (minus my brain fart)...maybe the Rams with Stafford and Beckham?

I assume it was Manning and....?

This model has worked a few times...so we can't dismiss it.

Get the breakdown on that, bc it’s wrong.  Or better yet, YOU explain how it’s right.  I’ll wait.

If they TRADE him, not cut him, they must pay out his signing bonus and his restructures.  Signing bonus has 4.3M x 4 years, plus restructure money of ~ 11M, meaning they could eat about 24M of dead cap, all the other money he’s trying to lump in there transfers on with the contact.  Make it post June 1 and you cut it in half.  It (was) POSSIBLE and technically still is, but stupid.  As a post June 1 move, it’s less than his actual hit for the year.

Based on todays move, they took his base down to Vet min, and paid him that in a signing bonus, meaning it added 1.2ish to his hit every year here after.  They must have also converted some of next years money too. So that’s going to add on more.  They also have to add his guaranteed option bonus within this week, which tacks on 16M, which will get spread out as a secondary signing bonus.  Once that is added, there’s another 3.2 per year of cap hit, so his deal is going to get out of hand if we keep kicking the can down the road.

If you trade him post 6/1 his 2023 dead cap would be 13 million.  Sounds like a great deal.  However, your 2024 dead cap would be 31 million! Their next real opportunity to trade him is in his age 33 season with 13 million in dead cap.

Dude is a bill for life.

You will when Josh gets clocked and is out with an injury. I have no issues with him scrambling or an occassional designed run. But Dorsey is using him as much as Dabs. He might seem like Superman to us fans but he will get injured eventually. Shore up this pathetic OL and run Motor & Cook more.  Protect your #1 asset.

His only two injuries have come while in the pocket, not scrambling.  The myth that running QBs are more injury prone has been debunked by data time and time again.
