  2. With a little wheelin and dealin using FirstPick:

Round 2 Pick 29 (TENN): Clyde Edwards-Helaire, RB, LSU

Round 3 Pick 22: Kenny Willekes, DE/OLB, Michigan St

Round 3 Pick 29 (TENN): Denzel Mims, WR, Baylor

Round 3 Pick 37 (SEA): Yasir Durant, OT, Missouri

Round 4 Pick 22: Jeremy Chinn, FS/SS, Southern Illinois

Round 4 Pick 27 (SEA): Troy Pride, CB, Notre Dame

Round 4 Pick 40 (PHI): Donovan Peoples-Jones, WR, Michigan

Round 6 Pick 9: Damien Lewis, OG, LSU

    Round 7, Pick 25: Braden Mann, P, Texas A&M

Although some of these are highly unlikely (Denzel Mims being available at the end of the 3rd round), I’d be ecstatic if the draft fell like this. Only thing I would have loved more is if Anthony Gordon was available with the last 3rd round pick (was taken 2 spots ahead).

Regardless with this haul, we will have upgraded a lot of our depth and Beane can trade a few pieces for draft capital in the coming years to replenish some of our accessory pieces with cheap alternatives when we have to start paying our core players.

  3. I love JA and think he’s the franchise QB, but I would look to take Anthony Gordon with our 3rd or 4th rounder (if he makes it that far) given how few holes we have now. The dude is a baller and would be a great backup to Josh. Plus I want to make sure he doesn’t go to NE.

  4. Round 1 Pick 13 (IND): CeeDee Lamb, WR, Oklahoma (A)
Round 2 Pick 25 (HOU): Cameron Dantzler, CB, Mississippi State (B+)
Round 3 Pick 14 (ATL): Ross Blacklock, DT, TCU (A+)
Round 4 Pick 7 (CAR): Cesar Ruiz, C/OG, Michigan (A+)
Round 4 Pick 23 (BALT): Denzel Mims, WR, Baylor (A+)
Round 5 Pick 11 (ATL): Jonathan Garvin, DE/OLB, Miami (A+)
Round 6 Pick 5 (CAR): Lamical Perine, RB, Florida (A)
    Round 6 Pick 9: Antonio Gandy-Golden, WR, Liberty (A+)

Had to give up next years 1st to grab Lamb, but with all these additions I believe that next years pick will be in the 27-31st range and well worth it for a true game changing WR1

Imagine an offense next year with Lamb, Brown, Mims and Beasley with Knox and Singletary. Sprinkle in AGG and Perine with improvement on the line and you have a top 15 Offense coupled with a top 6 Def

Man just so excited for this years draft...no matter what happens we’ll for sure come out of it with atleast a couple more playmakers on offense...is it September yet?!?!

  5. Round 1 Pick 22: Henry Ruggs, WR, Alabama (A)
Round 2 Pick 22: AJ Terrell, CB, Clemson (A)
    Round 3 Pick 22: Kyle Dugger, FS/SS, Lenoir-Rhyne (A-)
Round 4 Pick 22: Chase Claypool, WR, Notre Dame (A+)
Round 5 Pick 9: Leki Fotu, DT, Utah (A+)
    Round 5 Pick 21: Antonio Gandy-Golden, WR, Liberty (A+)
    Round 6 Pick 9: Shaquille Quarterman, ILB/OLB, Miami (A+)
Round 6 Pick 22: Lamical Perine, RB, Florida (A+)
Round 6 Pick 28: Victor Johnson, OT, Appalachian State (A+)

No chance Ruggs, Dugger and Claypool fall as far as they did, but one can dream

  6. Nice write up. I’m in the camp that there’s 2 WRs that I’d spend a 1st in this deep WR class (Jeudy and Lamb) who I can see as Julio Jones/DeAndre Hopkins type players. Other than that, I’d rather grab a top Edge rusher, CB or OT and see which WRs fall to us in the 2nd or 3rd round. If all our top options are taken by 22, see if you could trade down and gain an extra 2nd/3rd, then I’d package some late picks to move back into the 3rd/4th.

If the draft fell this way I’d be crying from joy. That being said, there’s like a 1% chance of Lamb falling to 22. If we want him we prob need to trade up with the Colts if he falls that far.

The more I look at it the more I want to go after an edge player in round one.

The drop off in talent from 22 54 at Edge is steeper than what it will be at receiver. I see about 14 guys I’d be happy with getting in the first two rounds at receiver. 3-4 will likely be gone at 22, meaning there will be 10-11 left between 22-54. So some of those guys will likely still be there at 54.

At edge I think there’s about 9 guys who could go in the top 2 rounds, 2-3 will likely be taken before 22, so by the time we pick at 22 only 6 or 7 will be left so get to 54.

A lot obviously depends on what happens with free agency. But I do believe the depth of this class does push down the need to go receiver in round 1.

Yeah I’m feeling the same way. However, I’m praying that 21 other GMs feel the same way and somehow we land Jeudy or Lamb at 22!

Pipe dream I know...but if one of them falls into the teens I would be very tempted to go get them even in this deep WR class (and PTSD from the last time we did that with Watkins) since I truly believe those two will be bonafide star WR1s that other teams will need to game plan for. Obviously there will be other WRs that will have great careers in this class but most have some sort of ? going into the draft.

  9. Made a couple trades. Most notably had to part ways with next years 1st to get in my opinion a true #1 WR and future all-pro Lamb
