I don’t think we can afford rn 7-8 mill the next couple of seasons

Chris Simms is great. You know he thought Epenesa was the 3rd best DE last year and said behind him was a big drop off. He is honest, you can tell he puts in the work.

I don't get a lot of this. I mean, the Bills pass rush wasn't good enough last season, but please, a little objectivity. First, Hughes played 64% of the snaps, which is less than the starters on all the teams that don't platoon seriously. So, there's that.
Then there's the fact that Hughes was at or near the top of the league in QB pressures, which is the more important stat.
Next, it's very obvious that rookies don't start game one in Buffalo. Edmunds is the exception. The Bills expect a lot of their players, and rookies rarely master enough, especially on the defense, to start early in their rookie year. Addison and Hughes have knowledge about the game and knowledge about their assignments in the Frazier-McD defense that no rookie will have.
If Rousseau turns out to be an ordinary first round pick for the Bills, he'll gradually increased snaps over the course of the year, a lot like Epenesa. If he actually takes the starting job from one of the vets, then the pick is a homerun.
Ok so we have basham now. So do you believe that Hughes Addison or Epenesa is gone? Does this mean Epenesa wasn’t a good pick? Or is Addison who took a pay cut to stay gone? Mabe Hughes isn’t that good anymore? But you can’t keep all of them. Number one paid d line in football and can’t stop the run or get to the qb. Name something elite that this pass rush has done? Name something that says number one paid d line in football? If you are paying a d line that much I would like to be in the top 16 not the bottom 16! Not even top 10 in a category.

Mario Addison was ranked 61st and Hughes 69th in sacks last year. That’s not even a starter IMO. There’s only 64 starters and there both in back half or second string category. Hughes also plays a lot of the snaps. If a first round pick can’t beat out one of those guys then what’s he here for?

listen from 1:19:52 - 1:22:52. Simms evaluation really puts in perspective why I’m not sold. Mabe someone can help me on why Simms is wrong with his evaluation. We don’t have a starting defensive end that can get to the qb, and I don’t think he’s the guy. -
I like the kid. I just don’t know why you draft a guy that will contribute “down the line”, or “red shirt year”. Since when do you draft a guy in the first round that won’t play or play limited snaps?

This is simply not true in any way. How can anyone with a shred of objectivity completely discount 15 sacks in a season? If all of his sacks were just a case of the QB holding the ball too long, Why didn't every average DE have 15 sacks against those same QBs? Every player accumulates some of their sacks on those types of plays. Do you think that other prospects never had the luxury of good coverage or a QB holding the ball?

listen from 1:19:00 it’s about 2-3 minutes long.

It's fair that you think this, but can you explain why?
Jayson Oweh may be the classic "looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane" guy. There are numbers that get your attention, and Zero is one of them.
Zero sacks. Doesn't that concern you, even a bit?
The Ravens seem to be DL university, in the same way the Steelers were once "LB U" noted for developing LB, so maybe he will be the "Steal of the draft" as some are saying. Or maybe not.
Azeez Ojulari was flagged as having a "degenerative lower leg condition"
https://arrowheadaddict.com/2021/04/28/2021-nfl-draft-could-azeez-ojulari-fall-kc-chiefs/
He's also smaller, and profiled as a better fit at OLB.
So you may rather have them, but at best, you need to 'splain why
I haven’t heard one expert say this is a good pick. Those sacks were from the qb holding the ball to long or no one blocked the dude. Just because he has 15 sacks doesn’t mean anything. Listen to Chris Simms, Connor Rodgers, Chris Trapasso, Bruce Nolan. It sounds like he is getting red shirted. He might be good in two years, but who gets a guy in the first round that cannot help the defense till 2022-2023. Sounds like another Epenesa. He should have been a 2023 first round pick if he reaches that Ceiling. Hearing that sounds like he’s on a 2-3 year contract but we have him for 4-5.
defensive Ends or linemen in general their Measurements are very important. 3 cone drill was terrible. His vert was 30 inches (in the red). He Is not very strong. The only elite trait he has is he’s tall. Sometimes stats don’t mean anything in college.
Add in the fact that this team has been trying to fix the d line for a few years and nothing has panned out. Mabe an inkling that they don’t know how to draft or pick up a FA D linemen at all. Murphy, Star, Epenesa, Addison, Oliver, Vernon butler, Jefferson. The list goes on. most expensive D line in football and nothing to show for it. Can’t get a sack and can’t stop the run?

There were a lot better guys on the board. Ojulari and Jason Oweh just to name two guys that I would rather have.

I'm surprised by the pick, I thought Rousseau had work ethic and motivation questions. He is a physical specimen though. I trust the Bills did their work on his character.
Physical specimen? The dude was a pro day nightmare. Vert was 30 inches. That’s in the red it’s so bad. 3 cone was terrible, has no push for how big he is. He has no strength. Positives are that he has a great side step lol. I don’t see any physicality in his game. Takes him 7 seconds to get to the qb. The only trait he has that is elite is that he is tall and big.

Lindsey would be the number 1 back in Buffalo hands down. Moss is the perfect compliment. Get it done!
-
I don’t see what sanders has to be giving him 6 mill. watch his highlights last year, everything is caught in a zone or against bad dbs. Then he gets ran down by every linebacker so you tell me what speed he has? honey badger gave him a 7 yard head start on one and he ran him down in 3 steps lol

The chargers offense is 4th their D is 12th. Never heard of a team beeing so good and so bad at the same time!
-
Milano might be dinged up from time to time but hes played 48 out of 55 games in his career. Compare that to most linebackers in the league, newsflash they all miss games. The bills need quality backups. Last year milano and edmunds didnt miss snaps backups need to play and bills need depth.

Saying having dark skin is an advantage - is now offensive? I thought saying it was a disadvantage was. I can't keep up with what can and can't be said.
Agreed i mean boise cant wear blue on blue in there stadium in some games because of the advantage.

There was a guy last year same kinda story what was his name??? Oh yea " The Foster" Rooting for both guys would be a nice tandem
-
I don’t think Diggs is elite he had 1000 yards 1 year. He’s very solid don’t get me wrong, but aj green is hurt every year and still puts up a 1000 yards every year. Get Green he won’t disappoint. Plus the pats would have fits with green, smoke, and Beasley underneath.

There 3rd wr is bisi johnson (WHO)? 4 caches 35 yard so there is worse than zay. before him was Chad Beebe (Who)? Not on the team anymore and they only have 4 wr on there depth chart. Dalvin cook leads team in catches.
-
The vikings need a wr bad.
-
Trade for AJ Green already! Give the Bills a legit 1. take this team to a nother level!!!
-
Rush 3 and 4 stay in coverage. Hands up! Try and tip ball and ruin passing lanes. Make Tom throw into tight windows. On Offense we need some special play calls because bill will 100 percent install a flee flicker or some gadget play I guarantee it. Philly special just something he hasn’t seen before. Foster has to have a big game Bill takes away best player on the field every time. John Brown will be doubled by the #2 corner and safety high. Beasley might have Gilmore on him and that takes away both wr without question. Zay has to step up also. I just have a feeling that he’s been forming a game plan for 2 weeks now because those other teams were to easy. Let’s see if our coaching staff has been installing and putting in work also!!
There also going to make Allen beat them in the pocket. Playing outside contain while pushing the pocket up the middle.
Simms: Gabe Davis is a good player, but he's not a number two

A #2 is a guy that can get open when your 1 is doubled. Gabe doesn’t do this frequently enough. On third down when they double diggs. Your two should be able to get open at least a few times a game. a lot of games he doesn’t. Just pull up his game logs where he goes three games in a row of 2 catches for 24 yard. A two should not disappear as much as Davis does.
