And the hilarious icing on the cake was how mad Vance Joseph became when the kick sailed through. Right before cutting to commercial they broadcast him doing one of the most blatant, pissed-off, clearly interpretable "Mother F-er"s!! I have ever seen from an NFL coach--in slo-mo!

So David Garrard who hasnt played a game since 2010 being forced to retire means the Jets are doomed? He was a longshot to even make the team
Just a little comic hyperbole, my friend.
But with the likely volatility of either a Sanchez or Gino led team, Garrard, tho coming off injury, had the best chance to offer a modicum of stability.

Has ongoing knee swelling. Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse for the Jests. I actually thought he was going to be their best option at QB.
Talk about doomed.

You don't need to blame cheating--good game-planning will win every time. Remember, for instance, in the Bills - Giant's '91 superbowl, the Giants' defensive coordinator seemed have all the answers against what had been up til that game a Bills juggernaught offense? That DC game planned so well against Buffalo it was as if he knew what they were going to run in advance. What was that guy's name again? Oh wait, Bill Bellichek, never mind.
(maybe I'm just still bitter but count me among those who believe BB's cheating days started long, long ago)

im sure jamarcus and the gang were off the field for that particular score... The Bills are hiding there goods and they dont want to show anything in the presason.. IMO, Bills make playoffs
I do sincerely hope you are right. However, when Jauron says after last game "we got a lot of issues that we’ve got to solve. We’ve got to solve them very quickly," I get the feeling that is not part of the bluff.

You might have a point if about 5399 or so of those posts (over 8 years, mind you) weren't useless drivel or feeble attempts at sarcasm.
I'm a huge fan, but seriously, nitpicking sound bites of athletes is hardly the stuff of insightful analysis. Just my opinion.
Yet again a case of the pot calling the kettle black. My "feeble attempt at sarcasm" was made only after your sarcastic response.
Did not realize only indepth, insightful analyses are postable here. You mean no one posts stuff like "did anyone else notice....?"

Look, ladies and fellas. I didn't say this was earth-shattering or I was infuriated. I said 'annoyed'--a pretty tame emotion. And I was simply trying to give a heads up to some fellow fans on something I caught that I felt gave a candid glimpse into our baggage-laden new star athlete's mind--that others might have missed and indeed even ESPN seemingly missed because it was not the reason they showed the clip and there was no commenting by them on that statement.
You just very rarely hear an athlete say "I'm a XX for right now" on basically the first day of a new season. That's all.

Not sure if this was on SC or ESPNnews last night (or both). They were asking TO about comparing his current situation to Dallas and he said that he had some good experiences in Dallas but that "I'm with Buffalo right now and so and focusing on that." (emphasis added)
Most players would have said "Now I'm a Buffalo Bill" or something more definite and proud. For some reason the "right now" kinda bothered me--he seems to already be looking to his future somewhere else. I replayed it several times to make sure I got his inflection correctly and each time it bothered me more.
I know we all know that he knows that we know that that is what he is thinking, etc, but it still bugged me he said like that. Hopefully his play will continue to excel as it did briefly last night regardless of whether he already considers us a one and done no matter what.

There is one scenario where I could see myself staying a die-hard fan after a move: the team goes to Toronto and becomes the Toronto Buffalos (or is it Buffaloes?). I grew up in Rochester, parents still there, and Toronto always felt nearly as close (distance-wise) as Buffalo, fast-ferry nonwithstanding. I wouldn't love it, but I think I could tolerate it--have no choice, really, since I am addicted to Bills football.

I agree with those who say that Edward's performance did not seem concussion related. I started thinking what else was different last night which could have resulted in so completely losing one's timing. One thing does come to mind--night game with stadium lights.
I am not a football player, but play tennis from time to time (flame away) which also requires lots of precise timing. I usually play outside during the day. However, on the few occasions I have played at night or indoors, I always feel my timing utterly screwed up. The shadow of the ball, etc, is total different and I really feel out of my element. I've talked to other people, some do not seem affected but others do.
Anyone recall how much night game (or closed dome) experience TE has in pros or college? He may be one of those people that gets REALLY affected by this sort of thing--cause last night it really looked like he had not played football before. Anyone else experience this sort of thing personally?

Don't be surprised to see an "accidental" hit on Favre's knee at camp, officially ending his career.

Not saying I want Favre in Buffalo--want to see what Trent will do, but don't underestimate how high expectations factor in: if Favre goes to a team already considered great and does not win SB, then "Brett couldn't get it done" (he loses) if he wins with that great team then he was just part of a great team, not the Reason (he ties). If he plays with a likely good and up and coming team (like the Bills) and wins the SB, then he is "The Savior"--Brett brings SB to Buffalo (he wins big). If he does not win SB with Buffalo, oh well, I guess the Bills were not that good (he ties).
A smart man would put himself in a position where he can only win or tie not only lose or tie--Brett is a smart man. Again, not saying I definitely want him, but would be interesting....
As for the Pats this year, expect big dropoff. I really think spying helped them more than people imagine--it never made sense how they could be so consistently good year after year with a low round QB a superstar and so much player turnover each year--now it does, and without spying, expect play to suffer seriously.

Another type of football broadcasterism which always makes me chortle is as follows:
When a running back takes his time in the backfield and has a nice gain, the announcers show the replay and say "see how patiently he waits for the hole to develop--great job"
Then you flip the channel and a running back explodes through the hole for a nice gain, the announces show the replay and say "see how he hits the hole immediately, he doesn't dance around behind the line, he just hits it hard--great job"
