Are you kidding me with this post?  There has been no other division that holds the New England Patriots, perhaps the greatest QB/HC combination in NFL history.  It's tough to establish a winning culture, and get to the playoffs with any regularity, when you go into every year playing for the WC.

Worked out well for us with an easy schedule, considering we're still an offseason away.  Next years team will be much more complete, with a lot more talent, and we'll find out if we can play with the contenders.   Huge plus if we can get to the playoffs this year and get everyone that experience.

never said we had to win the division but with two other crap teams in it that should make it very easy to get a WC birth. other divisions that have 3 or all 4 competitive teams now thats tough. but in a year like this we get 4 games vs trash

  2. defense is not the problem and def wasnt the problem last game. it was allen and the offense

Allowing Cleveland to MARCH down the field to start the game and end the game is a complete failure on his part

drives happen. overall allowing 19 points in the current nfl should be enough for a win

Cool..  Maybe one day we wont exist in the only division in the NFL that's unwinnable.

I'm going with 10-6 as my prediction.  Wouldn't be surprised with 11-5, and would be disappointed with 9-7.   Anything else, 8-8, 12-4, 13-3 and i'd be shocked.

lol unwinnable? other divisions have 3 legit teams every year sometimes all teams. afc east has just 1 legit team every year. and in a year like this we get 4 free wins vs bad teams. and again were lucky to have bengals redskins giants with eli, mariota

Yep, the Bills schedule getting harder coupled with the obvious flaws out there on tape for opposing coaches to take advantage of will move the Bills to the "in the hunt" column rather quickly.

nah we got lucky enough to still have broncos  jets dolphins etc, if we had the raiders schedule wed for sure have a losing record right now. because of our schedule we should still be fine

Just a little reality check on what the Browns are. Their losses are to:

    Rams

    Pats

    Seahawks

    Niners

    and they beat the Ravens.

My biggest comlpaint wasn't with Allen's 266 passing...it was the last several plays and the 3 yard throws not playing for the W. Jauron-like offensive feel to that.

and our wins are vs all crap

we get 19 points a game despite our crap schedule with playing very few legit teams. allen just cant throw

Today’s game, along with the last few, have made me realize that the Bills 6-2 record could just as easily be the Browns 2-6 record with a little less luck & a few bounces the other way.

Both of these teams (Bills and Browns) seem to be in a similar spot to me -

teams that have been crappy for a long time that are trying to climb out of that hole and back to respectability. Both teams still have a ways to go before they’re legit contenders.

The Bills are still rebuilding. We have tons of cap space this year (contending teams usually don’t leave $25M in unspent cap) and next. A good amount of draft picks.

No additions at the deadline also speaks to where management thinks this team is at.

There are still numerous holes on both sides of the ball.

This year is mostly about developing young players IMO. These last few weeks have continued to adjust my expectations for this season. I’m really trying to temper my expectations a bit and focus on the young players development.

fully agree. we have wins vs dolphins, jets, giants, titans with mariota, bengals, redskins. if we had that raiders schedule we prob have 1 or 2 wins.

defense is amazing for the most part. offense blows

Well, the Bills have only beaten truly rotten teams all year, so it only makes sense that they lose to any decent team. The defense is above average but the offense is atrocious, from the QB to the OL to the receivers. The coaching is suspect to say the least as well. The whole playoff narrative depended on the Bills' spectacularly weak schedule, and unfortunately most of the weak opponents are gone. The Bills have done nothing to indicate they can win either of those 4 games.

this exactly. we have beaten the lowest of the low. best win was titans and thats when they used garbage mariota. they pulled him for a reason. we have no respectful wins

  7. this stings. winning vs a team that still has talent on the road would earn us some respect. as of right now I know multiple other people fans of other teams and nobody respects us because we have wins vs all garbage teams and I dont blame them. this wouldve really been big. lucky we still have jets and dolphins left and other bad teams

I do think Mosely is one of those players who is a difference maker to their D.  He's played 2 games, Bills and NE.

Serious question:  if they suck so bad, how did the Jets beat Dallas?

any given sunday. fluke games happen all the time. like when we beat minn as 17 point underdogs or EVERY year there is always anomalies. end of the day they have 1 win and couldnt even beat the trash dolphins. vs dallas they were at home and had a good game, bad teams beat good teams in the nfl on any given sunday. have to go on the whole picture and thats they have 1 win and are trash. Gase is a joke and darnold throws tons of picks off his back foot and has had games where had the lowest qbr possible

I hardly see how beating a 2-6, downtrodden team that got blown out by that same Titans team you're knocking will somehow legitimize the Bills.

Of course, anyone knocking Buffalo for their weakness of schedule may also choose to acknowledge that they'd very likely be 7-1 had Josh not gotten hurt against NE. Almost no chance he doesn't punch it in from inside the 5 where Barkley couldn't.

browns are even favored this game so just kind of shows how we are thought of. that is true tho it still wouldnt be a great win but a decent one. giants with eli, titans with mariota, well are both ass either way, but dolphins, jets, redskins bengals, are all the worst there is

The Jets in W1 were a team with decent players...just ask ScottLaw.

lol they suck. its why they are what they are now

  10. with the 2 dt's we already have he hasnt gotten a chance to get as many reps as he needs yet. if you look at ferrel for oakland he started crappy but got to get a ton of snaps and last 2 games he started coming on. need to let him pay the fiddler and give him more snaps. overall a solid B

  11. Raiders won the mack trade. they got jacobs. another first rounder this year and 3 3rds. had $ for trent brown whose been the back tackle in nfl this year, lamarcus joyner and tyrell williams and will still be top 5 in cap come next season. they are def going in the right direction. just being real if they had our schedule they might be 7-1. very worst same as us but they went thru most brutal road stretch ever and until last week had 50 days away from home. and went to london vs 3-1 bears, @minn @GB @houston which they really had

bears are bottom 5 in cap space with no picks. they will only lose players and cant sign anyone with mack making big qb money

    7 hours ago, thebandit27 said:

Anyone else watch that game and think that the Bills would very likely beat either of those teams even on the road?

raiders would be tough. we havent beat a single good team yet. have beaten the garbage of the garbage. oakland and chargers would both be tough

So which two are Mariota and which two are Tannehill?  Number 1,2,3,4 from top.  Go!

yea the 4-5 titans are so damn good your right. you know mariota was benched for a reason right? and I already said if you want to tell yourself that thats fine, fact is even they are 4-5 with 3 garbage wins and we only scored 14 against them, a d where kyle allen is lighting up. NO wins vs teams with winning records, with numerous vs the worst of the worst

im happy we have what have but have to be a little realistic

    Punctuation saves lives

I'm not your bro, but while you're jumping back and forth between subjects in a blissfully punctuation free screed, do you ever, I dunno, like, look at a box score or peruse a stat sheet or pause to consider some facts?

I do suspect I know the answer, but for the sake of completeness I figured I'd ask

I don't need mental gymnastics, I have facts.  Was Mariota lighting the world on fire, No.  Was he doing enough to have his team in the lead or in a close game in 4 of the 6 games he played, yes.  Tannehill has played 2 1/2 games, and while they've been better QBing, it's not been a "completely different team".  In fact if I pasted up 2 games from each of them I bet you couldn't tell who was who.

Let's try shall we?  Here you go, Bright Eyes, tell us which 2 games are Trashy Mariota and which 2 are Terrific Tannehill.  No peekin' at the box scores now.

    image.thumb.png.7bfd003d5ad42ec25c97cded55279364.png

very simple because mariota turned over the ball and tannehill didnt. again our best win is vs a team we scored 14 points against, a team who also has 3 garbage wins. we didnt do anything vs the 2 teams on the upper half of the league. thats just a fact. I bet you think the bengals was a great win as well. you can pull those box scores all you want but with tannehilll they actually convert 3rd downs. regardless titans arent a top 15 team and anyone whose not a homer would admit that. another team with 3 garbage wins and we only put up 14. we suck vs good defenses, pats, titans, and didnt do anything vs average philly. we have only beaten the lowest of the low. and if really want to convince yourself titans was an amazing win go ahead. thats ONE

    I'm just curious here.

We beat the Tennessee Titans, who currently are 4-4 with the #4 defense, the #26 offense, and ahead of the Bills with a point differential/game of 2, are "garbage"

We lost to the Eagles, who are currently 4-4 with the #21 defense, the #14 offense, and currently have a point differential/game of 0.

The Titans scored 43, 17, 7, 24, 7, and 0 points with Mariota (the last two games being what benched him) and have scored 23 and 27 points with Tannehill.

So it's not as though all Mariota's games were impotent offense - 2 were equal or greater points scored than Tannehill's 2 games.

So.....why exactly is Mariota the difference that makes a strong defensive team "garbage", and a team that is by some measures not as good, a "good team"?

Then, while you point out we got the Giants with Eli as though that proves they were horrid, Eli did put up 68% completions for 306 passing yards and a TD for a 95.5 passer rating the previous week against Dallas, so it's not as though they were shown to be impotent on offense before we played them.  We also got the Jets with Darnold, who then proceeded to suck on offense without him for 3 subsequent Sundays before rebounding against the Cowboys, but you don't point that out.

It just seems like really twisting the data to fit a narrative.

? That's actually quite a Vintage Hapless post, while I haven't seen Exiled pontificating about statistical matters.   (maybe I missed it)

So I'm really totes not sure where that's coming from, Gugny

we beat the titans when they had mariota..... they are a complete diff team wiithout him. and your right they do have a good defense thats why we only put up 14 points lmao! 7 being on a short field. and thats are best win by far so that really says something, cause mariota is trash and until they benched him they were multiple games below 500. we have beaten all garbage.

Honestly if we had the raiders schedule where they faced KC...and then @Minn @indy, Vs the bears IN LONDON @ GB and then @ Houston those are all playoff caliber teams I dont know where we would be. the 2 teams we played that will be playoff teams or close to playoff teams we lost. its just a fact. we got an extremely lucky schedule this year with both jets and dolphins taking, and still have some easy games coming up, nobody takes us serious cause we have no legit wins.

lmao bro you can do mental gymnastics all you want but there is a reason why he was benched, cause he was trash, all he could throw was check downs so not shocked he had a high completion rate, and even with daniel jones they blow but eli made it that more easy. we get another gimme this week, its just a fact nobody will take us serious  until we beat some legit competition.

again mental gymnastics, they benched mariota because of turn overs and when he did score some points and yards they were down a crap ton going against prevent, its a FACT that the offense is MORE efficient without him, they stay in games and dont turn it over. just a fact. and again beating a .500 team where we scored just 14 points isnt anything to brag about, thats also a team that beat....browns, falcons, buccs, and chargers., scrubs to, with the chargers pretty much giving the game away getting stuffed on the goal line. so barley beating a team who also has no real legit wins while they were using a QB they benched is nothing to brag about.

is daltons completion % next lol?

boy, lose a game and everyone loses their s--t.  well, I guess this IS a fan board

the issue was it was a important game because it was actually vs a good team. we have only beaten the bottom of the barrel. all garbage. best win was titans who are a complete dif team without mariota. beating a legit team wouldve ended many questions. we even got the giants with eli. we dont have 1 good win

  16. 2 hours ago, Artem Lipatov said:

We have beaten Tennessee on road. They are 4-4 like Eagles so they are decent team too. Looking the schedule It was expected we win 1 of these 2 games. And it's better we won in game with AFC competitor.  Nobody expected perfect season without losses.

we beat tenn when they were playing garbage mariota. they are a complete different team without him. and even vs that D we only scored 14. and were lucky to face mariota. and tenns wins are vs buccs browns jags and falcons all garbage to. but without mariota are much better

its a fact we have beat the bottom of the barrel
