It sounds like he's still rehabbing and can't pass a physical. Saints didn't offer him a contract either. If McBeene decides to offer him a contract it will be a one to two year prove it deal with an out after the first year

Inmo, it seems that GM and HC are on the same page and work well together.But then again, who knows what goes on behind closed doors

I have been a fan for over 50yrs. Have seen and experienced just about anything and everything when it comes to the Bills. I actually believe that we finally have a competent FO who have a vision and plan that will be successful and maintain some stability. I like the fact that they aren't afraid to aggressively make moves and just stand pat unlike others before them

I actually agree what the poster said. To make it more current and it kills me to say it. Look at some of the talent that BB has won with. Not what I would consider elite by no means on the defensive side of the ball. Just saying, it can be done

Then you need to have a couple elite guys on defense too, like an elite pass rusher, elite MLB, CB, or even Safety (Troy Palamalu type).
Having a few elite guys that break the game plans of the opposing team is the key. Guys that MUST be double teamed to deal with, that require extra game planning against.Then you build around those elites on offense and defense.
That's my way of saying both, idealy. If you can only have one, it's offense, but it better be like the top 1 or 2 offenses in the league to make up for a bad defense. Most good teams are good, or at least have the potential to be good, on both sides of the ball.
I think our potential elites currently on the team are: Josh Allen, Trumaine Edmunds, Tre White, and Lesean McCoy (past his prime). The first three aren't there yet and McCoy is probably not elite anymore. Here's to hoping our new crop develops.
I recall an undefeated SB team in the 70's who won with the "No Name" defense. Just saying

It's all about the OL for me
. Plain and simple. Brees, Rivers, Rodgers etc can take no name WRs and make them known. Josh will be better his second year just for the fact he's got a years experience in this offense. Getting a really solid and efficient OL, IMHO, will be the best thing in Josh's development. You get the running game going. Being able to move the chains and eliminate alot of the 3 and outs in itself will help the defense. I would like to address the OL in FA as much as possible players who have veteran leadership and talent. Having said all that, you have to take the BPA regardless which side of the ball. You can not miss on your 1st round pick especially when you are picking in the top 10. I really like this Risner kid. I don't buy into the thought process that where we are picking is too high if you can get a plug and play starter especially with his versatility. Now, if one of the top rated defensive players drop, which always happens, you take him if he is rated higher. After all, you are always one injury away. You can NEVER have too much talent.

It's called an inept offense although after JA came back it improved some. Haven't been this excited for an off-season like this year in a long time.

Bills trade from 9 to 14
get Falcons 3rd and 4th
Bills get a versatile guy with great leadership and position flexibility. Will allow the hopeful addition of T Darryl Williams to play RT and maybe a Quentin Spain or Reuben Foster to play G and keeping Jeff Boline for depth.
Starting offensive line
Dawkins Teller Risner Foster Williams, depth before round 2 of the draft is Bodine and Bottenger and possible Jordan Mills as swing T.
Hopefully Bills look at WR in round 2, either Hakeem Butler, Deebo Samuels or DK Metcalf
Round 3 - Picks 74 & 79
Round 4 - Picks 105, 110, 124
Round 5 - Picks 136 147
Of course picks 4th and later are affected by added compensatory choices to be determined.
I would consider possibly trading both 3rds to move up in 2nd if Iowa TE Hockenson is available
This also assumes we resign Jordan Phillips and add a WR in FA
I would love to get Risner in the 1st and Samuels in the 2nd. I don't think he will make it though. I could see Oakland grabbing him with one of their picks

I agree. Having Djax and Foster to stretch the field could really open up the run game and things underneath. Throw in JA's scrambling ability and I could see some serious match up night mares for DC's. Fwiw, I saw TB's first 2games this year and Djax looked like he still had plenty left. I could see McBeene making this move but only on a team friendly contract

Josh is just a lot of fun to watch, so I will enjoy that part of the game. But a loss would be more valuable to this team this offseason, there are a lot of teams bunched up in the standings.
We are currently in a tie for 7th, so not sure if we would pick 7th or 8th officially (although shows us at 7). However, a win could and most likely would drop us out of the the 10 and as far down as 13th. And Giants and Lions only have 1 less win. So if we lose and they won, we could also move up another spot or two possibly to as high as 5th with a loss.
So a win or loss could be the difference in picking as high as 5th or as low as 13th (depending on other outcomes and what the tie breakers would be). Thats a big spread...give me the loss, its too important to our draft slotting.
I was just reading if the Jets somehow we're able to beat the Patriots and we lost they would jump us for 3rd in the division. Jets are currently slotted 3rd in the draft. How that scenario would shake out would depend on the teams in front of us. Possible for a top 5 pick the way I see it.

The thing is Darnold is no Ben. Alot of his passes we're late dumpoffs after Ben surveyed the field. Darnold is not there yet. Think teams will put a spy on him. Jets don't have the WRs to give Darnold that luxury.
