I dont know what you were watching, but the Bills put up 368 yards on the Chiefs, the second most this season.  They should have put up 27 points, tied for the most allowed by the Chiefs all year.  And that's with clear DROPs by WRs

Brady came in, implemented a very successful run game, and went 7-2.  That's exactly what we needed.  Oh BTW, his only losses were the Eagles (where we put up 34 points) and this playoff game.

Brady SHOULD be back, and I expect him to be.

Counter argue: he didn’t respond to KC’s adjustments when they clearly figured out the game plan (eg: let James cook) and kept running him down the middle stubbornly when it wasn’t working several times, wasting valuable plays.

then towards the end of the half KC clearly had little answers for Kincaid screens and short passes…so it seemed really obvious to me that we should have rid the hot hand like we rode Cook in the Cowboys game. We didn’t.

i agree he came up with a great game plan, but didn’t adjust at all when needed, and that’s been a problem I’ve notice with the entire coaching staff. We rarely do 2nd half adjustments period ever since Daboll left.

Diggs needs some new scenery.  And we need some new WR’s.  I take the $13.5 mill cap hit next season and turn the page. He has no tread left on the tires.  It’s obvious.  He can’t beat corners any longer. He’s had a very good to great career.  But it’s winding down.

Watch Moneyball.  There comes a time for everyone when they can’t play the game they love anymore.  That time is coming for Diggs.  Father Time is undefeated.  Some on this message board do not seem to get that.  Sad but true.  I wish Diggs had 3-4 solid years left.  But it certainly doesn’t look like it.

Yep he’s toast. We need a WR1 in the draft because we don’t have the cap to procure one….or somehow Diggs figures his ***** out.

It's been a while since me and Bease have seen eye to eye on anything, but I agree with what he is saying here about Gabe. He's best off on the Free Agent market, but I have a feeling the team will miss him. AND I hate the fact that fans were classless enough to heckle Davis and any of our own players after that game.

I see eye to eye with him on a lot of things (count me as one who still has A LOT of questions about how public policy was handled the last 4 years) but not on this lol

as a player you need to be the bigger man and know fans are both passionate and paying for the game. You’re getting paid. Huge difference.

  3. Good luck lol

Bad look for Gabe but bad look for the fan(s) too.  I’m really sick of some of the “mafia” getting into it with Bills players either on the sidelines or social media.  A bunch of a-holes. Just cheer for the team or argue on message boards. No need to make the entire fan base look like fools to everyone and piss off the players.

    Lol

fans pay hundreds of dollars to be there.

    for many it’s a paycheck.

they have the right to say anything they goddamn want, and you as a player getting millions need to be a professional and suck it up.

shows Gabe as an entitled brat with low EQ. Not surprised.

Unfortunately, they won’t fire McD this off season when there is a good crop of available, experienced coaches. They will do the “Billsy” thing and fire him after next season, when no one is available.

That is precisely my fear…if we fired McD now we instantly become the #1 HC job. Next year we won’t have a ton of choices at HC, and we are a team that doesn’t need to experiment with a maybe hire. Right now Harbaugh is just cursory interviewing. He’s ripe for the picking.

imagine his roster management and ability to identify top talent in scouting combined with his coaching and experience in getting the most out of his QBs…we’d be unstoppable with a good DC at the helm.

No, did not really think we’d win a Championship, or ever in my lifetime.  But since the Bills were hot at the right time the wins kept the dream going.  We are right there, but the problem is Mahomes and to some extent Burrow just have the Bills number in the Allen era.  We can’t stop those guys.

    We literally almost did.

    like I said:

if we didn’t do a dumbass fake punt.

if we didn’t force running Cook up the middle throughout the 2nd half despite it obviously being adjusted for.

if we adjusted mid game and used Kincaid like how we switched to Cook in the Cowboys game when KC had no answer for our freak TE.

if our defensive line played with some fire.

if Diggs performed even half of his 2020-2022 caliber and caught even one of his several dropped or didn’t even attempt to catch passes.

if our kicker didn’t crap the bed all game.

Take away just ONE of this…and we likely would have won.

this was 10000000% winnable. Heck, JA was by far the better QB and played his heart out. Him, Shakir, Kincaid, and Cook did the best they could.

This narrative is what pisses me off….its high time we shake off the complacency.

  6. If I’m honest with myself…better than I expected coming into this season….but that was assuming this NFL season wasn’t nearly so topsy turvy as it was. I thought the AFC was going to be tough and our schedule especially brutal. Wild card is where I had us, likely injured and losing in the first round.

except this year was one hell of a wacky year.

Cincy was gone this year and a non threat. Baltimore I still think is not as good as people think (Houston just got exposed and have lost a couple games in similar fashion). KC has several holes on offense. Miami folded at the 11th hour.  Rodgers became a non factor minutes into the season. And it seemed like we were more healthy for once down the stretch than we are usually (which is saying something since we’re still pretty banged up).

The biggest factor? Allen unlike last year wasn’t playing hiding an hindering injury down the stretch. We have an all-around good RB for the first time since Shady. And we have potentially an elite TE, something that made the Patriots offense overpowered for a decade and that’ll set up Allen for massive success as he transitions into a pocket passer.

So somehow it seemed all the stars aligned for the Bills to make it even to the Super Bowl.

    And KC was 100% beatable.

if we didn’t do a dumbass fake punt.

if we didn’t force running Cook up the middle throughout the 2nd half despite it obviously being adjusted for.

if our kicker didn’t crap the bed all game.

Take away just ONE of this…and we likely would have won.

All because we have the best QB in the NFL on our team and potentially one of the best TE’s.

So while we preformed better than I expected….we will NEVER have a season where all the stars align THIS close to get us into the Super Bowl.

I truly hope this team looks itself deep in the mirror and reflect…McD humbles himself and realizes he is spread FAR too thin being both HC and DC.

also needs to humble himself and realize Josh makes this team by default an offensive juggernaut, so stop forcing this team into focusing on defense so much. The organization realizes it needs to pay serious dollar for an elite OC and let that person completely manage the offense without input from McD. Or hire Jim Harbaugh as GM/HC.

We need to upgrade the heck out of that O line. Allen disguises how mediocre it is by his ability to Houdini out of the pocket. It’s amazing we have a freak QB…but it’s time we start setting him up so he doesn’t need to be a freak QB every game to win. The Cowboys game shouldn’t be the exception. It’ll also let Cook….cook.

we need a WR1. Diggs is toast. Him and Miller are albatrosses unfortunately and we just need to accept that. Draft a great WR with the 1st round pick. Diggs and Shakir can share WR2.

moving forward Kincaid needs to be designed far more into our offense like the Pats did with Gronk. He is going to be elite as he keeps learning the game.

defense needs to for once play second fiddle and get little attention this offseason. The unit is old. It’ll likely stay old for a season. I’m OK with that to start building a great O line as we have a couple really solid pieces and just need to plug some holes.

once we get the offense to world beating, we can focus again on defense.

but I fear the organization will just look at us getting to #2 and close to beating KC as ‘good enough’, even though in a year where everything lined up so well for us….it ain’t.

  7. Makes me sad tbh…

Not that the Pats suck, but the way Cam’s injury has gone to kill his career. He was one of the most electric and smartest QBs in the field. You can see him calling lots of audibles last season to adjust coverages. It was the only thing keeping that trash offense afloat since his arm ain’t cutting it.

He’s such a good guy and a great role model for kids. Hate to see this happen to him.

  8. Dude, boring things are routine and important plays to evaluate in football. Not every situation is about going 80 yards on a pass. The line needs to block the run better. Curl routes are the cornerstone to any passing game when playing man coverage. Not exciting but it’s stuff you need to evaluate.

Also I’ve noticed McD can be a competitor to a fault sometimes. Explains several wonky decisions at the beginning of the year.

  9. I see them going outside the box and rolling with Bo Levi Mitchell and another FA QB for next year instead of drafting, especially with this subpar qb class. Very Coughlin thing to bring a guy from a different league.

Jags are the 3rd team to work him out in a week so there’s definetly a lot of interest in the Grey Cup Champion.

  10. The free agency looks awful except Randalle Cobb who might be resigned. But there's a hell of a lot of teams in rebuilding mode with great WR. Especially OBJ, who McD has a relationship with Gettlemen and QB + defense hungry. They might be interested in a lot of the draft picks this year in the 1st.

What would you give for either those guys considering their contracts? A 1st? A 2019 1st and 2020 2nd?

    Imagine OBJ with Allen's arm?

I think Ed Oliver is one of the most likely Bills draft candidates if we draft top 10. He fits a natural need as Kyle Williams replacement.

The coach is the one at fault, not helped by that interview, its a stupid rule and I can see why a player would react

We technically drafted his replacement this year already...

This year's draft is 100% offense.

I'm excited to see what Allen can do. Have serious doubts, but it should be a fun game.

THERE IS NO FREAKING REASON TO BE NERVOUS ABOUT A 3-7 TEAM. Get a grip man.

True. I'm only nervous because we can be a very impatient bunch. If Allen starts playing bad there's going to be a lot of calls to play Barkley, as stupid as that is. Plus the Jags are a very good 3-7 team hampered by coaches (which we all know) and Bortles.

I think any Bills fan should be nervous.  We WANT to see JA show progress, and steps towards being our franchise QB.  We've been let down a lot though, so it's easy to expect he'll look like a trash heap.  Time will tell.

I definitely don't feel let down so far on Allen. He's a rookie so he's played about expectation so far. A regression though would be really bad...

Now this season on the other hand? Yeah, definitely. Should have loaded our lower picks on linemen and brought in Anderson at the beginning of preseason.

No matter what this season would be rough.

In short, did Peterman's weaker arm prompt the coaching staff to stick with big, possession-type receivers heading into the season?

My theory (really flimsy, but there you go) is that McDermott and Daboll thought that Peterman would be an effective game-manager type QB using short and intermediate routes and gave him the big, tall, receivers to fit that game plan.

Clearly, it did not work out that way, but you gotta wonder....

No. They did the same in Carolina. Heck, Beane drafted Benjamin in the first place.

I think the change to speed is due to Allen. Rather than turning him into a game manager, they want to encourage him to throw more and play to his strengths. Getting speed guys is essential if they want to develop his arm. I also think they're feeling more confident about our offensive line, so speed guys are making sense. If the QB doesn't have time to throw, you want big bodied guys who can overpower backs.

Can anyone tell me what hotel the Bills stay when at home the night before games? Bringing my son who is a little guy. Last time we came to a game they stayed at Adams Mark, is that still the same.

Years ago I stayed at the Adams Mark for some job interviews and the team was there too (at the time Fitz was the QB). They were fairly low key but also lost badly. Guessing they have a contracted rate that's very low and I doubt that's changed.

I’d argue hard to judge crowd noise in tv. Some well placed mics, or a shift in the mix by the station can sway the perception greatly

I've watched enough WWE to notice it, and it's truly painful when you hear it. Crowd tonality isn't very clean. Fake crowd noise ascends and descends too neatly (or just stops incredibly abruptly).

  17. Tomorrow's game might end up being the most important Bills game this year. Winning off a BYE with lots of young starters and Allen starting after a 4 game hiatus. This sets the tone of what our franchise is developing towards.

Really excited for it...but also nervously skeptical. What if Allen poops the bed? Or if our D gets humiliated by Jacksonville of all teams?

I'm not good with watching embarrassing moments, and this game could end up being that. Anyone else in the same boat and just want to get this game over with already?
