I truly believe you'd be saying the same thing about Mcvay right now, until this roster is rebuilt this is what we are. The defense can only hold so much with an offense that can't generate any points, Daboll can only do so much but we need to see way more creativity. I don't care if we have to reinvent the wildcat, we need to start putting points on the board, flea flickers, statue of liberty, old school Green Bay Packers Power Sweep, it would be nice to just say screw it and start doing something outside the box on offense.

    nope

McVay means no Brandon Beane. So there is a chance we could have had actual talent on this roster.

Did McVay want to go to the Rams, with their shiny #1 QB or to the Bills, with Tyrod?

31  years old he would have went to whatever team paid him the most. If the Bills interviewed him and offered him the job quickly he would have easily taken the offer.

  3. 2 years ago we had a chance to pick the young offensive minded coach or the conservative defensive minded coach.

We had a chance to erase almost 2 decades of mediocrity and not make the same mistake of hiring the same old defensive minded coach who has no idea how to develop a QB or run a offense.

Rams took the risk, Pegula played it safe. One coach is running the best team in the NFL and the other is on a downward spiral  being blown out every other week with no real plan for the future. Offensive minds like McVay really do not come around that often in this league. He was special and we made a massive mistake not hiring him. Sean McVay would have been the perfect coach to develop Allen into the QB he has the potential to become. Missing out on players in the draft hurts, but making wrong decisions like this cripples a franchise and

  4. This is one of the most level headed threads ive seen on this forum

so much better than all the delusional fans thinking this team is set for the future just b/c we have high cap space.

Cap space means nothing for a team like ours. We are a historically mediocre team with little talent, not much outlook of success, small market, and play in a state with massive taxes.

Colts, Bears, Jets x 2, Dolphins x 2, and Lions are all winnable without much of a stretch in thinking.  That's 7 winnable games.  Even going 3-4 in those 7 gets them to 5 wins.

    I don't see a top-5 pick in this team's future.

why do so many ppl think this defensive performance can last the rest of the season?

Every top offensive team we have faced they blew us out. We have played 2 mediocre offenses in a row

Sorry to rain on the parade, but I don't see Beane giving up any draft picks at all unless he finds someone he and McD want to keep around next 3-5 years.

like Kelvin Benjamin, EJ Gaines, and Jordan Mathews??? lmao

why can't fans admit Beane is terrible at trades and has no idea what he is looking for.

I actually would have little problem if we ended up with the top pick, especially since (rightly or wrongly- time will be the deciding factor) we would probably trade it to a QB-needy team like the Giants or Broncos, both of whom will end up will 10+ losses (even Denver despite last night).  But I don't know how anyone can see how the last 4 games have played out and think that we'll end up with the top pick.

Despite having quite arguably the toughest schedule in the league to start with 4 of our first 6 games (actually, 5 out of our first 7) on the road, including to Minnesota, Green Bay, Baltimore, and Houston, and despite a scarcely existent offense we've still managed two wins... and came a collapse away on Sunday from being at .500.

With the schedule seemingly easing up- Patriots' games aside- in the second-half, with a top-5 defense that will keep us in MOST games... how can anyone still expect us to go 3-13 and get the first overall selection in the 2019 Draft?

This has more the makings of a 5-7 win team, even if it's probably better long-term that we're drafting higher than that.

I personally see us going 4-12. Pats will sweep us and I think we steal a win vs the Jets/Dolphins. There is no way in hell this team wins over 5 games.

4-12 will get us into the top 5.

Schedule gets easier, and we have an elite defense.

Season has an 8-8 feel to it.

we could have the #1 defense in all statistical categories and it won't matter when our offense cannot move the ball more than 5 yards without a accumulating 20 penalty yards against.

we held the titans to 12 points and it came down the the last kick of the game. we held the texans to 13 points and still lost lol.
