Hollister was also not re-signed by two different teams, signed to a low contract, and hasn’t found a new home yet either. Not like he’s thought of as a stud around the league. Maybe not even worthy of any 53 although I think eventually he will sign with someone. He was undrafted. The Pats traded him for a 7th round pick. He was released by Seahawks then re-signed to PS before making roster halfway through season.

He was literally carried off the field by his Seahawks teammates; so his teammates appear to think of him highly.

  2. This is baffling.  I've watched a lot of Bills football the last couple of years and I've watched a lot of Hollister.  Hollister was the best TE in camp for the Bills period.  Hollister has a great relationship with Josh.  Hollister is a relatively cheap option from a salary cap perspective.  I honestly don't understand.  There has to be more to the story.

  3. I am hoping that was some autocorrect.  Any Wyoming fan should be very familiar with Rico Gafford. I will never

With the Bills claiming WR Rici Afford off the waiver wire yesterday it seems like they're putting the 2017 Wyoming Cowboys back together.  Along with Josh Allen  there's TE Jacob Hollister and WR Tanner Gentry and now Gifford, all from the 2017 team. I understand Gentry was signed to the Practice Squad and Hollister and Afford need to make the roster, but it was great to see.

Huh?? I hope you know that it is Rico Gafford.  In any event, neither Hollister or Gentry played on the 2017 Wyoming Cowboys. This is one reason Josh had a tougher time in 2017. Gafford and Allen played on the 2017 Wyoming Cowboys and I will never forget Gafford's impressive interception against Iowa that year.

Perhaps you mean the 2016 Wyoming Cowboys, when all of those guys were in-fact on the same team.

I could see playing anyone who is healthy, except for Josh, as a final tuneup, but wouldn’t be surprised if no starters played.

IMO, Josh should play the first offensive series along with a unit that includes Rico Gafford, Tanner Gentry and Jacob Hollister.

and for what it's worth Rico Gafford played CB at Wyoming.

Also for what it's worth and a little known fact but he also played running back in various circumstances at Iowa Western before coming to Wyoming.

I honestly don't know most teams depth behind their #1 and #2 so I can't give a "knowledgeable" answer.  It's really guess at this point but I can't think of anyone, overall top to bottom, that is absolutely better than us.

    What do you guys think?

Left off Tanner Gentry.  He puts the group over the top.

  6. Love the signing! Hollister was actually carried off the field by his Seattle teammates.  That’s how highly he is regarded.

But more importantly - the signing is

HUGE from a marketing potential.  There were some Wyoming residents on the fence about the Buffalo Bills.  The signings of Gentry and Hollister have satisfied those concerns and captured the Wyoming market.

I've seen the Josh-Gentry connection on film.

But serious question, if Gentry could learn to separate at the NFL level against NFL DBs, why would the Bears send the Turk after him going into 2019 training camp?

Bonus Gentry film clip for attention:

Also I'll admit it, I follow some of the Bills players on Instagram and Gentry just doesn't look like he's keeping himself in tip-top professional WR physical condition.  He's got a "Dad Bod" from the look of it.

Gentry was coaching high school football earlier this year.  I don’t think he has ever had the specimen physique.  He is much faster than one would expect looking at him.  But he sure as hell is in much better shape than Kelvin Benjamin ever was.

Kenny Golladay and Josh Allen once put on a show that finally ended in 3OT at 230 AM MTN/430 AM Eastern. Golladay amassed 200 yards and 3 TD that night.  But Josh Allen was better, and, converted one of the most ridiculous walk off rushing TDs when the entire crowd was screaming at him to throw the ball away when the play broke down.

Come to think of it, I still need to watch the first half of this game!

The game was scheduled for an 8:30 PM MTN start to accommodate television.  Well a big rainstorm swept through Laramie delaying the game for a few hours.  University administration decided to open up the fieldhouse for the fans to escape the rain.  The university brought all of the beer to the fieldhouse to sell during that rain delay.  Needles to say, by the time the game actually did start, we were all very wasted.  But by the second half, I was sobering up and by the end of the 3OT I was stone sober and screaming for Allen to throw the ball away and let the field goal kicker win the game.  Nope, Allen didn't want to leave anything to chance and figured he would just run around the field and find a way to score.  We made it home just in time to watch the sunrise.  It is #3 for me in top Josh Allen college moments.

The only offensive players that have gotten serious playing time in the NFL that Josh played with at Wyoming are Hollister and vaguely Hill he's bounced on and off with the Falcons. Gentry is getting considered for a PS spot in week 17 and the Jets WR core still exists. If you want to say other MW teams said Allen was surrounded by NFL talent then maybe that was true comparatively to them. But nobody in the NFL described his situation like that, if there was NFL talent on his team it was mostly on the defense.

Except what you just said isn’t even factually correct.  Ever heard of Chase Roullier? You know that guy from Wyoming who delivered the ball to Allen at Wyoming and who has started basically every game that he has been healthy since he entered the league.  You know that guy who is about to be a free agent poised to receive a massive contract.  Guess you don’t consider offensive linemen part of the offense.

This guy was drafted in 2017, caught 3 balls all season for the Bears, did nothing in 2018, and hasn't been on a team since, and people think he's going to step in and see action for the playoffs? Really? 🙄

If you haven’t learned to expect the unexpected with Josh Allen yet, then I don’t know what to tell you.

BTW - I’ll help you with your facts:

    1) Gentry was never drafted.

    2) Gentry was in the XFL earlier this year before the league folded so technically he was on a team.

EDIT - Gentry was never drafted out of college.  He was drafted in the 3rd round of the XFL draft.

Of all the guys they are bringing in, Stills is the only one I could fathom as being someone they could/would rely on, even if minimally, to play in a playoff game.

Go to the 4:10 Mark...I GUARANTEE this will be VERY familiar to every Bills fan that watched the game this past weekend.
