I believe we'll sign a few o linemen, but how good will they be?  You need to find that diamond in the rough at this point since all known, solid players are already on teams.

That is so true.  I am just trying to give people some open.  Many people here life’s hinge on the bills and they hold on like a thread hoping the bills turn it around, that is all they have.  Once hope is gone, ouch.

  2. Mark, I can assure you I am not Dunkirk don, I live in Ohio I have done some research from veterans on the board and can assure you i am not but thanks for the comparison I heard he was pretty remarkable with his insight knowledge.  The only time I come back to wny is to deer hunt in a very small town

Did you notice how as soon as McCarron was injured everyone's voice got a little higher around here when talking about the QB competition?

Allen is the exciting rookie with a rocket arm that the team traded up for. Peterman is a guy we know who is trying to complete a redemption story. McCarron is just a whoever who won't be on the team in a year or two pretty much no matter what. If he is named the starter (which he will be IMO) his days are numbered the moment he steps on the field. It's just until whenever Allen is ready. In other words, a total waste of time.

Peterman brings you the potential for a redemption story, which is interesting at least. If he is at least so-so we could have a 15 year backup QB. If he turns out to be a Kirk Cousins situation then that's another win. If he flames out and self destructs at least he had a real shot. There's intrigue there. There's a story worth watching if Peterman plays.

There is literally nothing interesting about McCarron being the starting QB. But he will be. You can take that to the bank.

From my understanding and from people in the know, AJ is McDermott and Daboll pick.   The problem is the right shoulder.  If AJ doesn’t hurt, he is the game one starter and still maybe.  If he cannot go, peterman gets the call.

When you have to bring down the ball and run, the "release time" clock is still ticking.  That will affect the average release time. When you are playing against the other team's backups and see little pressure, it's easier to get rid of the ball to your first option in your progression.

Not sure how anyone can even argue that.

That is a true statement but peterman had good games against number one defenses this preseason he is going to start.  Will be announced shortly or I am not the final word.

  4. Again perspective here gang.  The answer is both.  After making the playoffs many thought we were knocking at the door of greatness, we weren’t  hecki I even saw we should have not traded Tyrod. Simply remarkable and short sighted.  Does anyone really think Taylor was a franchise quarterback?  He would assure six to eight wins we have to sell tickets.  Kim and terry know that if the team can win seven plus games, their stadium will be packed so we need a competitive team while building for the future and they have accomplished that goal.  We are getting better and in a few years we will be a beast the final word

  5. Hopefully everyone had a great day and had true reflection on the state of football in Buffalo.  Reading the threads during the game yesterday, I truly felt empathy toward the fan base here.  I know the authors of the many comments from misguided and over jealous legion of true Bills fans. My hat is tipped toward each of you but we must understand our long- term strategy as an organization.  The coaching staff and front office must address the fan base with a win now mentality. This is a business and they have to sell tickets. It is a blue collar fan base not filled with millionaire like other locales. With that said, McDermott and Beane have a long term strategy and the Beane’s first goals was to acquire a fanchise quarterback.  Anyone that paid attention to rumblings from obd , that could connect reference points, knew Allen was there quarterback. As revealed in October from back channels, the number one pick circled on their draft board was Josh Allen. That is why the lead up to the draft was so anti climatic to me but I throughly enjoyed the hundreds of posts on board about what quarterback we would chose.  Next we knew (I hope you need) Dennison was done and despite all the hype surrounding our next c would be, the reference points all pointed south to Alabama which also came from New England.  Brian Daboll was mentioned on this site but the author was shamelessly ridiculed but we made the same choice. We did offer Mike Tice the offensive line, too bad he turned us down.  That would have been huge! This will be addressed before the end of year. Castillo will be gone.  But as you can see, we have two major pieces in place.  Quarterback and offensive coordinator. We drafted our middle linebacker and next year, we will add the center.  We must be strong up the middle.  I think that is enough to digest for tonight but I will continue to add commentary on our long term strategy.

Beane took a chance on on the maligned corner from Indy, on very short line.  Look for Phillip Gaines to be there shortly.  Bad idea in locker room too.

Terry and Kim are such astute business people:  I don’t buy their stadium press releases

Post the third preseason game, it's pretty reasonable to argue that Peterman will be the starter at Baltimore.  That would be my prediction as well.  I'm not so arrogant as to argue that it is anything more than an opinion though.  The know-it-all arrogance of some posters seems to know no bounds.

Tiger your analysis is correct, don’t be shy

  6. I am still a huge believer in Josh Allen but he has away to come.  An announcement will soon becoming out that Peterman will be the starting quarterback against the Ravens.  What I find interesting is the fact McDermott would love to start AJ.  We will need to watch AJ health very closely and read between the lines that if AJ can go don’t be surprised if he gets the nod.  There are so many data points to connect but this is what is so intriguing about this ime of the year. Also, please keep and eye on the starting cb spot.  Won’t be surprised if Davis is unseated.  He didn’t play well and word coming out of obd is that he is not doing well in practice. This is a situation that is somewhat concerning since we have not had a push up front.  We have not used a bunch of stunts on defensive in the preseason but I don’t think he makes it. Might have a surprise cut at tight end and receiver.    We will be watching the waiver wire very closely for depth on the offensive line.  We do not need any more retreads from Oakland.

on the Mack rumor front, we need to stay clear from that potential disaster. Yes, Beane did inquire about the potential trade but the asking price is way too much for us.  I know the fan base wants this but doesn’t make sense for us.  Mack is 27 and in his prime so his window is about 3 more years and would be a good fit for a win now team.  We are not that team.  We would mortgage our future for an outstanding player on a mediocre team.  This is not going to happen so we can stop discussing.

Hoepfully this has has provided more clarity on Buffalo Rumblings and this is the final word

Just in.  Phillips Gaines starting a cb for now

  7. After a good night sleep, hopefully we have all regrouped and are able to look at the situation more rationally today. We are still not a very good football team yet.  Our brain trust is truly one of the best in the league and they have a plan for the future.  Making the playoffs was awesome but unfortunately for most on this board it has set an unrealistic but predictable expectations for the fan base. We all need to be patience.  We are not going to the playoffs this year but we begin making progress of becoming a perennial playoff team. Our plan is simple, let Josh sit for five or six games which will get us past the rough part of the schedule.  We will probably be 1-5 and then we will begin to salt josh into the line-up.  This will give peterman some playing time, we see him as a frank Reich type player, you need a solid back- up and then Josh will take the wheel and this is the final word faithfully reporting the truth with perspective

Murphy looked good, Ivory had a nice power run too. I really like our running backs, Peterman should go in as the starter. I'm a big big big fan of Josh Allen but the team responded to Peterman.

We all want josh to succeed but peterman is just better right now.  Don’t despair, josh was the right pick

Peterman has been great all preseason.

He's in control of the offense, knows to take what the defense gives him to keep the down and distance manageable, he's accurate, and the ball comes out on time. His arm is obviously lacking when he throws outside the hash marks, but if we can game plan to attack the middle of the field off play action he can have success.

Allen showed today he's not ready. The Bengals dialed up some pressure and he couldn't handle it. He didn't anticipate pressure, he patted the ball and took sacks when he could have harmlessly dumped it incomplete and put the offense in unmanageable 3rd and long situations. He needs to learn a lot about how to take what the defense gives him and avoid sacks at all costs because they're such drive killers.

You are correct in your conclusion but the brain trust at one bills drive already knew that as well.  Thank you for your well thought out commentary

Shaq did a good job of setting the edge today and forcing the RBs inside and was close to knocking down some passes. Doubt he gets cut. There are currently a lot worse player on this team than Shaq.

He will not get cut. The final word
