  1. I am excited to bringing my 11 year old son to Buffalo for his first ever game at Orchard Park!!  I feel it is important to get him to this stadium before the new one is finished so that he can have the "Orchard Park" experience!   My son and I will be going to the Nov 19th Bills vs Jets game.   We will be flying and therefore I will not be able to have my truck load of tailgating equipment (grills, coolers, canopies...etc).   Are there any "family" friendly tailgates that my son and I could pay for and join?  Anything near where Kenny Pinto is?

  2. Oh man.  I was not tracking that Sunday Ticket was moving to YouTube?   Will the ability to DVR/record the games to watch later still be an available feature?  Normally I can't watch the game on Sunday until after my children's travel sports games.   DirecTV would let me record the Sunday Ticket games for the Bills so that I could watch it later.    I am petrified I won't be able to do this with  YouTube!!

Good morning to the best fan base in the NFL!!

I just want to give my opinion on why I think there have been so many missed opportunities when taking deep shots, or maybe my take as how they can get it fix.

This is just my opinion, not bashing Josh or the WOs, they all need to do better.

Just as the Bills, I have the privilege of coaching a strong arm QB but is also a little off sometimes, so I always teach my WOs to help their QB with a small but simple solution. When running deep patterns I want them to always push downfield as much as they can instead of crossing (post) or going to the sideline (corner), so after the break when you gain that step on the DB instead of going 45° to either side, I teach them to keep pushing forward and slightly going to their patter. This helps the QB so that he doesn’t have to make the perfect throw and if it is a little off it is easier for the WO to adjust towards the ball. This helps especially with fast WOs like Brown and Foster. Even when you are crossing form the back side of the play to the front, it is better to go up so you can always keep the ball in front of you.

If you watch some of the misses this last game, you can see that when the ball is thrown it seems like the WOs have a hard time adjusting to get to the ball. The first one to Brown the ball ended in his wrong shoulder (maybe Josh thought he was going to keep going straight, maybe the wind moved it, maybe just a bad throw) but if Brown pushed downfield he would have been able to adjust to that pass easily. I saw the same thing with the one to Foster in the 2nd series and one more to Knox in the 3rd one.

I know, there is no excuse, Josh needs to do a better job with ball placement (better arch and touch), but this is a way they can help him succeed in the meantime.

I wish I could post some video, but I don´t know how I can draw on it, but I will try latter on.

Why give us  two cents when it is only a penny for your thoughts??

I hardly ever post on this board, but I'm on here all the time. It's a great way to pass the time during commute to and from work, and despite the backlash that comes from many of the posters regarding controversial issues (QB play, coaching, front office), I usually find merit in most of the perspectives on the board. As the season is now officially over, I thought I'd give my two cents on  perhaps the most controversial topic on the board: McBeane. I've heard from both sides since the era began, those being the "It's a rebuild!" side and the "Fire the incompetent j@ck@sses!" side. Here is my brief estimation of each:

The former camp's take is valid when looking at the Bills, and other NFL franchises from a historical perspective. Successful franchises typically find a good coach and stick with them (Belicheck, Sean Payton, Pete Carroll, Mike Tomlin, etc.), and perhaps these coaches needed time to establish their culture and implement their playbook in order to attain their success (a more diligent member of TSW can look in to their respective histories). With this in mind, the more patient Bills fans are willing to give this front office and coaching staff time to get the players they want, install their playbook, and achieve some level of continuity with both, as opposed to the carousel of coaches (esp. offensive coordinators) we have witnessed the past 10 years. How much can we really expect from this roster? Burdened by a terrible cap situation, we were left with a rookie QB from a small school who was expected to be a project, An o-line made up of journeymen and low draft picks, a receiving corps that has had little success gaining separation and holding on to the ball when they do, and a defense led by two great, but very old players. At this stage of "the process", we can't be certain of what we really have.

Yet the Bills historically long period of mediocrity has worn much of the fanbase's patience thin. For these fans, the glaring issues arise: What's with all the penalties? Why drop 50m on Star, when he has appeared serviceable at best? Why did they even consider bringing in Tolbert last year, and trading a 3rd for Benjamin this year? And what about all of McDermott's in-game management gaffes? These issues are definitely worthy of our consternation, and though we can chalk them up to the learning curves of both McDermott and Beane, they are mistakes nonetheless. What has been most discouraging, I think, is the 4-5 games both this season and last in which the Bills looked terrible... Like, literally the worst team in the league. I don't know what causes these duds, and they seem to plague most NFL teams with the exception of the elite ones, but it is hard to watch. The Ravens, Chargers, Packers, and Bears games this year, and the losing streak last year which culminated in Peterman's heroics in LA come to mind. These games all have mitigating circumstances, but they all occurred during the McBeane era. One thing is certain: good teams never show up looking like that.

I watched this season with mild expectations, and do hold a lot of optimism for the 2019 season. We have, for the first time in God knows how long, A qb that really looks like he can lead a team and not just keep it afloat. We also have a massive amount of cap space and 10 picks in the upcoming draft, so there is a lot of potential to grow. I'm still not sold on McBeane, nor am I ready to chuck 'em, but I guess the whole point of this post is to voice my understanding of both camps, and to allow the rest of TSW to chime in with their views on all things McBeane

I feel like this game could make history.... Perhaps the worst Monday night loss ever.... Unless the D has a special strategy... Otherwise it's a Gronk/Brady/Edelman/Gordon highlight reel... :(

I would definitely add James White to that list....I bet he has the best night out of all of these Patriot players.

No excuse for that but it happens all over sports.  Yankees fans threw beer at an A's fan after they Yanks won the wild card game.  Also the Yankee fans threw a can of beer at Craig Kimbrel coming-out of the pen game four.  I'm sure a few Bills fans have thrown things at opposing teams or their fans.

no....NEVER....No Bills fan ever has ever ever done that....None....ZERO

Eagles invested heavily in Trading up for Carson Wentz.  Spent that off season building and Offensive Coaching Room...Wentz now thriving.

Los Angeles Rams invested 1st Overall Pick in Jared Goff.  Shortly after fired their Defensive Minded Head Coach (Jeff Fisher).  Brought in young Offensive guy in Sean McVay...Goff now thriving.

Chicago Bears invested heavily in trading up for Mitch Trubisky.  Shortly after fired their Defensive Minded Head Coach (John Fox).  Brought in Offensive Guy in Matt Nagy...Trubisky now thriving.

Buffalo Bills and New York Jets invested heavily in trading up for Josh Allen and Sam Darnold.  And they will do what with their DEFENSIVE MINDED HEAD COACHES after their Young QBs struggle in 2018???

Aside from last week's blowout against a horrible Tampa Bay Defense with lots of turnovers.....Trubisky's play had been horrible...maybe mediocre here and there.... the first three games.  Would definitely not say he has been thriving.....

Yep. It''s called not letting one's emotions cloud their judgement. There are too many Chicken Little's, Negative Nancy's, Bandwagon Hoppers, and What Have You done Lately Walleys on the Forum. They may seem either impatient, not open minded, or overreact to everything as they love negativity or complaining. They probably are disciples of Coach Dickerson and Sully.

Let's instead enjoy the Roller coaster, and at years end then analyze the good, the bad, the ugly, and any great. The NFL is not based on one game. And the Process cannot be fixed over night. This year more focus was on trimming and dealing with the remaining fat, getting hopefully our next franchise qb, improving a little the D, and  next year hopefully its O line, receivers and winning time.

I avoid all of those people and only listen to Realistic Reggie....

  9. I am very impressed with the embedded series and it does it's job in getting me pumped up and shining a good light on the Bills organization and staff.  But doesn't anyone feel like any team putting out this kind of video series would make their team look the same?

Do they?  I would love to see an objective assessment of their percentage.  Heck, get me the data - get me 4 years of Mayock or Kiper or whoevers drafts from at least 2 years ago (eg 2012-2016 or older) and I'll do the assessment myself and put it out here, and on anyone's blog that is willing to host it.

I don't think it's that high a percentage, myself.  When they gush about Jamarcus Russell or Blaine Gabbert or Jimmy Clausen or Johnny Manziel or Ryan Leaf, no one knocks on their door 2 years later and asks them to clean out their office.

higher percentage is different than high percentage.  I did not say they had a high percentage with regards to being correct on boom/bust status.  I said they have a "higher precentage" of being correct versus being wrong.  That could be 51% correct and 49% wrong......

  11. While I understand these ESPN/NFLN analysts aren't the "end all be all" of knowledge regarding a player and his bust/boom potential.....they do boast a higher percentage of being right than they do being of being wrong about players....hence my my proclivity for listening to and taking just a little bit of stock in their criticisms......
