Look at the Rookie starters in the league right now. RG III, Wilson, and Luck are the only ones producing. To think that someone in the upcoming draft will be able to set in and outperform what Fitz can do is pure fantasy. If the team does draft someone and they do start, it is either that Fitz is hurt or that the team is 2-13.

I am hoping Jeff Lurie fires Reid, and the Bills make him the head coach next year.
We could also try to pick up Philip Rivers (he's on the hot seat in San Diego), and STILL draft for a quarterback...

Wanny couldn't stop the Run against Patriots, Titans, Houston etc. Until we prove that we can stop good teams, Wanny does not get a pass. Having said that, I do see the commitment to stopping the run the past few weeks. However, we are still short of a good MLB who can stop the running game.
Curious. I didn't see Wanny on the field those games missing tackles. Coaching only goes so far. The players need to execute on the field.

I would disagree with Jim on the QBs thing. Seems to me the QBs are possibly better than they've ever been.

That's pretty close to 50% of the QBs being elite enough that Jim wouldn't even be on that list during his days. Heck, even Fitz threw right around Jims career year stats last year.

A player that hasn't even taken one regular season snap has no business being on this list. Romo hasn't done anything. I think the list ends after Brees.

There are a lot of FA WRs this year better than what we had in 2011. If you don't try to negotiate with them the answer is no.
If I were in charge I'd make a run at 'em. You never know.
I'd go after Reggie Wayne, Marques Colston, Vincent Jackson, Wes Welker, Dwayne Bowe, Robert Meachem, Mario Manningham, Pierre Garcon, Anthony Gonzalez, Plaxico Burress, Steve Smith (PHI), Donte' Stallworth.
Like I say, if you don't ask, the answer is no.
And I don't care if they're old. If they can play for a year or two and help our team be respectable again, I'd go for it.

I think the Colts are going to draft Luck or RG3. If I was the Colts I would make RG3 the pick.

Once again, a QB in the first round is not wise given the state of the defense, more games were lost due to bad defense than bad QBing.

Neither. This team can't afford to spend a first rounder on a QB . Cinci is doing good with Dalton, a second rounder. They need a WR and line help first.

The pass rush has had serious issues for years. So, spending a 1st rounder on a QB makes no sense when the D has so many needs.

But you've been asking the wrong question all along when defining a franchise QB. For bills fans the question should be how many QBS in the NFL today could come into Buffalo without any other on field changes and win football games. I count 6 since 1998. That's right only 6. Both Mannings, Rodgers, Brady, Big Ben and Brees. And two of those guys weren't even first rounders. So 4 first rounders in 13 years.
If you count only those that are playing for the team that drafted them the total becomes 2.
