I dont like the idea of next years first being part of a trade up.  That pick could end up being quite high if they start a rookie QB.  Also, if the rookie plays really bad you could use that high pick on another QB.I would rather opt for a 2 this year and next year and 21,22.  Also consider player compensation if possible.

Yeah. It is absolutely a risk. Toughest part is getting a chance to draft early enough to have a shot at a franchise quarterback. Most teams don't want to move down and the Colts might not even want to move that far back. I think there is a good mixture of responses in this thread that shows how interesting a trade like this would be. People thoughts are certainly diverse on the subject of moving up to draft a quarterback.

Because they know that they caught lightning in a bottle and they want to trade him for more than he is worth.

I guess it depends on what they get for him.

If they get a 2nd round pick, then what is better... Peace of mind at the quarterback position or a 2nd round pick?

I think if we ask 2 people about that then we might get 3 different answers. :)

But Philly is in cap hell and has few draft picks.  True they might get sentimental, but Foles' value is as high now as it ever will be.  Smart management would move him.

To me, it would be more than a sentimental reason to keep him or for him to stay.

What guarantee do they have that Wentz will be healthy on Day 1? Why trade away the guy who just brought in the first Super Bowl victory in franchise history when the starting quarterback in on the mend and could be out a while?

    He's a free agent in 2019

True. If he is on the roster in February then he is a free agent. I guess I should reword this to express my thoughts.

Not long ago, Foles wasn't even sure that he wanted to play football anymore. I am not sold that even he wants to leave Philly. He is a God there. Forever a legend, at this point.

  5. If I was running the Eagles front office then I would keep Foles for 2018. Maybe trade him mid 2018 or let him become a free agent.

I don't think Foles is beating down their door and asking for a trade. The dude is already a Philly legend.

I think it makes the most sense for him to stay in Philly.

I get a kick out of the people who are so “sure” of anything in the draft. NOBODY knows, even the people who do it full time for millions of dollars. “I think” or “I’d bet” is about as far as anyone can reasonably go. I get that some people have strong opinions, but they are just that...opinions. And you might even be right! But you can’t be sure....

Agreed. I like reading Mock drafts though. No one gets them all right, but it makes the draft process very interesting.

Reuter also has a mock where the Bills move up to #5. What makes this draft so interesting is the quarterbacks. Anything can really happen.
