Kind of a precarious position for WGR with One Bills Live (part of PSE?)coming from OBD whom I imagine wanted to control the information outflow. You want Murph to say "Hey I just saw Russ carrying a box of all his personal belongings being escorted out of the building by Security."

I'm sure there are many people who arent surprised by this. I feel sorry for his family. Don't think Training Camp at Fisher will extend past the current deal 2021?

Tasker replacing D Jones and will be joining Murph one week from Monday ...show will now be called One Bills Live. Always enjoyed his views as a guest or guest host when on the show.

Having to overpay for free agents has been the bane of the Bills. Cap issues are now compounded by Wood's forced retirement
leaving OBD with way to too many holes to fill to snag Cousins.

Bills GM mentioned EW was on phone with agent prior to Presser. A carefully worded statement along with no Q&A sounds like both sides are trying to protect their position with a great deal of legalize going on. It's just a business side of todays NFL.

If u mortgage the future and whiff u set the team back years i.e. JP Losman .. EJ Manual. I like the idea of 4 To 5 young guys on original contracts.

I like Tyrod at 18 million , 2 million base and 1 million for every win he takes 51% of the snaps.

I will never like or forgive Doug Marone. It's how he left not that he left, the escape clause in the contract was not intended so he could double dip and take another job. It was to protect DM in case new ownership wanted to go in another direction. The Pegulas are loyal to a fault and paid a premium for Buffalo which increased the value of every other franchise. I think the other 31 owners tacitly felt the same way which left Marone groveling for line coach job in Jax. Marone knew EJ was bust at QB and Whaley and Brandon were in over the heads, trying to jusitfy picks and sell tickets hence the reach for Watkins. Then the Rex the Carnival Barker comes in and sets the franchise back another two plus years.
As for the current success at Jax. It's a function of way the NFL is suppose to work with a competent front office. Teams with poor records get high draft picks and should have the cap space to lure free agents like Campbell, Boule and Church. When you over pay for mediocre talent and draft poorly you get pre McD Bills. If Marone beats New England it won't change my disdain for the man. As for the game I don't care who wins I just want to see carnage.

The Salary Cap Link at the top of the page is link bar is an execllent resource for those on TBD. The top 8 guys represent 45%
or the cap and I don't think there is a bargain in the group and quite a few burdens. Tyrod 18 mil, Glenn 14 mil, Hughes 10 mill
McCoy 9 mill , Clay 9 mil, Woods 8 mil, Benjamin 8 mil , Incognito 7.5 mill... Plus were paying a price for in dead cap money compared to other teams., whether it's from the previous regime or moves made the current staff it still has to be dealt with. McCoy is worth 9 mill and Incgnito value is also fair.

I usually hope to break even or make a small profit by selling at least one game .I don't see a strong market for the non conference home games, Jax, Det, LA Charg,Chi, Tenn, the away games might have been more marketable Green Bay, Minn, Houston , Indy Balt. Even with th team in the hunt late season tickets were dirt cheap that might have to come up something below the Bronze for market prricng., Tin? I just hope they don't back load the schedule again.

Both QBS potentially have approx 18 million riding on this weeks game and no matter the outcome. I don't think either is worth that kind of money. I

I think It was either ownership change or coaching change that allowed the Bills to opt out of Hard Knocks
during Rex's time.

Draft pundit McShay has all the QB's going 1,2, 5
McShay's mock draft. 1Browns - Darnold
2 Giants - Rosen
5 Denver - Josh Allen
19 Chargers - Mayfield ?
Just to stir the pot Garoppolo contract is up but it sounds like the 49ers will tag him if they sign a long term deal.
I don't think the McD's will bet their badges to make a blockbuster move with using the "draft equity" to move up.
I think it was Buddy Nix that said something to the effect picking in the high teens is probably the most difficult spot if you need a quarterback.

I thought this topic has come up on the John Murphy Show WGR/MSG and he mentioned using your DVR . Maybe Murph will described how to do this during his show . please please please

The number of permutations for the Bills to make the playoffs would challenge IBM's Watson Supercomputer. I know that we can win out and still not make it. I wonder if someone at OBD is assigned to looking at every combination plus its impact on our 2018 draft pick.

I just the hope the WGR simulcast syncs. I can't listen to her, equilvaent of Rex Ryan doing figure skating with a feminine voice.

" To win in this business it's about two things, It's about players and winning." Todd Whaley
I don't know who you blame for poor drafts; Coaches, Scouts, Management, maybe all three. Also timing or luck plays a role, I remember the Bills really wanted Von Miller but Denver grabbed him one pick ahead of us. Not making the playoffs but winning enough games that you pick in the mid teens plays a role in not making the playoffs.

Maybe, but it's not like he has the worst GM record ever. Probably will have to take a position lower to work his way back up though.
If not the worst ever he would certainly make the roll call along with Donahue. He will probably receive a nice honorarium for fulfilling the Rooney requirement
over the next several years.
Teams only need to cite the January 2017 presser which couldn't have gone much worse. After that I don't know if he could lead a Cub Scout Pack let alone an NFL team.
Poor drafts, Poor Contracts, Poor Cap management, just like coaches some guys are great assistants but don't have what it takes to be the head guy.

The Bills have been serving as a farm team for the rest of the league. Lots of success for those leaving. That has to stop to produce a winner here. As far a Jason Peters, he willingly violated his contract with the Bills....and is a no good individual, his legal word is not good. He deliberately laid down on the job to get traded. There needs to be a good faith effort clause in these big contracts. (J Byrd did the same and is also somebody I never want to see again in Buffalo as he is also low character)
By converting Peters to OT the Bills made him a multimillionaire . When Peters left I remember a former Bills player saying Peters didn't want to be in Buffalo, you weren't going to be able to keep him. Donald Jones spoke similar thoughts about Robert Woods this year on WGR. It was going to difficult to resign him when LA , his hometown, was offering hime 8 million.

1. The secondary played much much better than anyone expected.
2. TT is better than people on this board give him credit. Not turning over the ball gives you the chance to win
3. They got lucky with injuries to Julio Jones and some timely turnovers
4. For a while they played with much greater discipline than they every did under Ryan
5. The fans and media know much less about football than we think we do
6. No NFL player or team tanks. They don't have guaranteed contracts. Every snap is on film. The players need to compete at a high level to get paid.
7. People need to stop analyzing the schedule. There is no way to project what teams will be good or bad.
8. The 2016 team was an 11 win team hobbled by injuries at WR and an antiquated defensive scheme coached by two buffoons
Concur
would add
Hauschka nailing 50 yarders
2017 Draft Picks exceeding expectations

The risk of potentially losing a game check for retaliation and instigating brawl doesn't make sense. Keep your poise and see them back on the field in a three weeks. If you knew the worst you were going to get was a 10K fine that's one thing but to lose a
100k -500K game check ?

Sam Darnold’s grandfather was named Dick Hammer. He was an actor that played the Marlboro Man, and also played football at USC. That’s cool.
In an interview on National Sports Radio he mentioned that his grandfather was in the Olympics, had a career has a LA County Firefighter and was in the TV show Emergency. Also in the epic film Stalion Canyon ,he played the role of Luke not the Stallion.

The most egregious cheap shot since Packer Charles Martin body slammed Bear Jim McMahon in1986 which earned a two game suspension. A one game suspension sounds like a back room deal between Foxboro and Park Ave.. NFLPA will make Gronk file an appeal and stretch out the decision so he sits out next Buff game. Next Monday night game is Pats Dolphins then Pitt @ 4:30... Follow the money people TV ratings are down and the NFL wants Gronk the next two weeks .. most likely would play very little in the 16th game against the Jets anyway unless it means home field.
