  1. Whole team and coaching staff...they could have crumbled after the Dareus trade and Raiders opening cakewalk drive to a TD...instead they completely take over and rip off 27 unanswered points

You seriously thought that was going to be an issue in the locker room and for team morale?

Game Ball: Trae Elston. Leading tackler, held up pretty well with Poyer being out.

  2. He is going to be fine. So many of the greats take time to adjust to the pro game. I challenge you OP to go look up stats of the games best WR's over the last 15 years. Look up their rookie season game stats. I bet you will see some pretty pedestrian numbers. Just a hunch.

I had to reread the thread title to make sure I wasn't in the archives reading about EJ.

  3. Ran the ball last year against stacked boxes every week and finished 2016 number 1 in Rushing YPG.

The drastic fall of not being able to run the ball is not being talked about nearly enough. Everyone is focused on the play of TT. He is not supposed to be the offense, nor carry this team. The running game is, which has been absent for the most part all season.
  4. How many optimistic starts have we had during the drought? Quite a few. It's 3 games. A great start indeed and have definitely exceeded expectations at the fan and media level. But it's early. A bad loss in Atlanta and many will be calling for Peterman again and how we should have never traded Sammy. Let's hope they keep it up.

  5. Wait I'm acting like that? Read again. Slower. I am defending the guy. Again how many official drops does he have? I'll give you one from the end of the game last week even though it was a horribly thrown ball.

I don't know the exact number and don't keep a tally. He has underperformed expectations. He has more concerns than promise thus far. It is 3 games, which is all we have to evaluate. Hopefully he improves. Through 3 games, very unimpressive.

  6. No you don't have a quote because you're full of it. And he doesn't have zero catches. He had zero catches today. He has 3 so far and one big drop off a bad ball. Again no agrument I'll give the rookie the benefit of the doubt 3 games into his career in a not necessarily "pass friendly" offense.

Your acting like he is already deemed a bust and that he should be cut. Take a deep breath Mrs. Jones. Just pointing out that it's concerning that a small school guy, drafted in the second round, known for his hands, seems to have a case of the dropsies and looks out of his element thus far in his NFL career.

  7. Whew I guess neither of you understand hyperbole. I could care less about his college production or pedigree. Fact is he's a rookie, and the OP's original vomit was suggesting this guy should be coming out the gate lighting it up and he's (surprised) that hasn't happened? Wow.

So i countered with an equally ridiculous idea. You get it now? Class on tuesdays and fridays sir.

That wasn't the point. Catching slant routes in your hands as a second round draft pick is expected. Right away. That's not lighting it up.

  8. Defense has exceeded expectations. Offense has shown several weaknesses. We only have two weeks to evaluate. The Jets (which you could argue good isn't a sign of encouragement) and Carolina (who may or may not have a top defense). It is way too early IMO.

My biggest takeaway is that I do believe the players have bought in to McDermott's approach. Teams of the past would have quit in the Carolina game with that offensive performance. McD is not afraid to bench a guy who "quits". Again two games, but I have been impressed with the attitude and effort. 1-1.
