Who do you replace him with?
Bill Belichick, Jim Harbaugh or any number of superior coaches who are available ...

You have Jim Harbaugh and Bill Belichick on the market ... 2 straight Divisional Round HOME PLAYOFF LOSSES should be enough to fire McDermott ... but apparently, the billionaire owners just don't care enough about winning and want to keep trying the same thing over and over and over again (ie insanity).

The Bills should fire McDermott, should have fired him after 13 Seconds, but won't ... they want to keep losing winnable playoff games every year.
-
A little bit ... why? Because it literally happens every year ... by hook or by crook, the Sean McDermott-coached Buffalo Bills inevitably come up short in the biggest moments in the playoffs ... and the Pegula family and fan base loves Sean McDermott and apparently wants to see this movie over and over again, year-in and year-out.

If the Bills lose, you fire McDermott, period. No more excuses. You have the game at home ... as you had Cincinnati at home last year ... don't care about division titles, playoff appearances, Wild Card round victories ... if the Bills lose again at home in the playoffs, you have to change the regime, it will have been proven without doubt that McDermott simply cannot get the Bills over the hump.
Man this comment aged well ...

Because you say stuff does not make it true. That’s not how the internet works, despite what some people think.
Fascinating. Glad you and others will still love McDermott and his regime even if the Bills lose at home in the playoffs in the divisional round for the second straight year and continue their run of zero Super Bowl appearances and zero championships.

McDermott isn't getting fired unless we lose like 56-0 and wears a turbin in the press conference.
Not saying this particular billionaire owner will fire McDermott, simply expressing the opinion that another home loss in the playoffs SHOULD result in his firing ... it's an opinion ... kinda like the Cowboys SHOULD fire McCarthy, but didn't. Apparently many people on this board love annual early exits from the playoffs and have pledged their undying support to McDermott.

The personality of the coach, Sean Michael McDermott

Had Gabe not tackled himself, there may have been a miraculous TD ... Josh is fine, it was 4th down ... Buffalo will move the ball all night long.

a game that hit Bills -15 before kickoff

Sean McDermott preparation

... and add Benford to the list of Bills who can't catch a football.

Gabe Davis can't adjust to a ball in the air (Eagles OT, Cowboys just now) ... and Diggs suddenly drops passes all the time. Poor Josh.

OMG McDermott ... the obligatory needlessly call a defensive timeout and then give up some huge play

Holy ***** that was bad. I get the diggs drop was essentially meant to be a handoff but wow that is why we aren't going to a super bowl. Elite teams don't do what the bills just did
Just hand it off and eliminate the possibility of a drop ... not the Bills
-
the 1st and 10 playcall was horrible ... but Diggs not catching it made it so much worse.

It's just not possible for this team to execute properly down the stretch ... you're going to kick a FG and give Mahomes two minutes and two timeouts to tie or win.

-
Just throw the damn ball and try to get PI ... nah, just take a horrible sack
-
Nice catch Murray, JFC
-
Bills run the play, get nothing ... Chiefs run the same play, get mad yards
-
Enter the Bills special teams ... just an implosion today in all 3 phases ... Sean McDermott's legacy.
-
You cannot recover that fumble and go do that offensively ... this is why this team will soon be 6-7 ... it's the classic example of an entire team taking on the personality of their head coach

Just an unbelievable choke job offensively
So we're firing McD, right?

It's more of a general "by hook or by crook, the McDermott Bills find ways to lose winnable playoff games." The "obvious coaching blunder" is the result, losing, at home, again.
