I realize Beane wants to build threw the draft but trading for Mack could of opened many doors for us especially in free agency. I really believe players would look at the Bills as a prime destination. We still would probably have close to 70mil to fill the holes. I'm pretty sure the Bills kicked the tires on Mack but weren't ready to pay the draft compensation required by the Raiders.
Looking back man I wish we traded for Mack.

Not sure what that has to do with anyone's (Newton's, Wilson's, etc.) "starting out" since both have far better short-medium passing games than Allen presently has despite the nothing that whether Newton is a franchise QB or not is entirely debatable.
They both improved in that way to become as good as they are whatever that level is.
And frankly, look at both of their rookie passing splits, BOTH were signifcantly better than Allen's.
So I'm not quite sure what your argument is here. If we're going on directd head-to-head Allen vs. Wilson & Newton in their rookie seasons, then Allen doesn't stack up. That's pretty much my point, hence my continual statements that if Allen's EVER going to become a franchise QB then that area of his game will need to improve.
Frankly, I can't believe that ANYONE is even arguing that point here yet there are several that are. That's the simplest of NFL concepts.

Yeah I don't know where Groy is good comes from. He is terrible...gets blown up consistently. The whole interior of the OL needs work.

I am not advocating taking Allen at all. I am simply saying nobody knows jack squat at this point and are basing all their opinions on stats from college. It is a completely valid position to look at stats of some of the best QBs ever to show that stats don't tell the whole story.

Beane probably hates how Whaley traded up for Watkins. Traded a guy we took 4th overall for a guy taken in the 2nd round.
Gaines was a 6th round pick.

There is a difference between physically addictive and physiologically addictive. Biting your nails is physiologically addictive, herion and all the sweet, sweet opiates you r good doctor gives you are physically addictive. That's why you never hear of a pot head having to go through detox.

Please go back and look at the last 10 years of Superbowl champs and please point out the one that had a "super star" RB? Would it be nice sure, but hardly where you should be spending your money in the salary cap era.
