  1. It is very curious that in one of the deepest RB classes in memory, that The Pats would rather overpay for a (admittedly very good) back RB rather than save a few bucks and Draft one. Hell, there will probably be a couple of backs in the 7th Round who could approximate Gillislee's production. As far as wounding us goes, not buying it. They are surrendering a 5th Rounder.

If the reverse were the case, the press would be all over us for overpaying in such a strong Draft class AND giving up a Draft pick, then harping on how The Pats would be laughing all the way to the Draft over it.

And I highly doubt we will match the offer. The brass did not think enough of Gillislee to pay the extra 900k. Why on Earth would they then shell out even more? I get the feeling they are content with getting the Draft pick in a deep class and saving some green.

  2. What the heck kind of contract was his ex-agent looking for? For him to get turned away at every visit, I would have to think it was close to the ten million per range.

I had been frowning on Brown up until this point, but firing his agent was a good sign. Hope this thing works out. We could kind of use a three down LB with coverage skills...

  3.

I got to say Red Zone Cuba or Invasion of the Neptune Men. The latter was so freaking terrible that even MST3k couldn't save it.

Those were both tough slogs as were the other two Coleman Francis films.

Interestingly, Joel once named I Accuse My Parents as his favorite and that Manos was nearly a deal breaker for him. Mike on the other hand (no pun intended) named Manos as his favorite and Hobgoblins as his most painful/difficult.

  4. this is more where i was going with it, but again, it's a fun exercise.

edit: to be even more specific, it grinds my gears when someone say the bills will only win x number of games because the schedule is so difficult.

Or when they predict a... wait for it... cakewalk due to an easy schedule. No such thing as easy or tough anymore for the most part.
