You lose wr1 and wr2, and starting C - and you go slow WR, S, back up DT.  Nice!!!

it’s kinda criminal that they are content just letting Josh carry the offense without trying to make it exceptional.  So we’ll be the 20s version of the 80s Browns, 80-90s Dolphins and 90s Chiefs at best - good enough to compete but never good enough to be even the best in the conference. The overemphasis on D in an offensive league when you have a gem at QB is baffling.

They did the same with Cam…had to be Superman.

    Wrap your mind around this:

Fans are losing their mind on trading down from 28 to 33.

Let that sink in. Then start ignoring these people.

They lost two WR, didn’t gain any picks and traded with the team that owns them in the process. We should prob just ignore the people that are ok with this.

    Neither plain nor simple.

It is clear that Beane did not consider Worthy to be to value pick at 28 so, unless you wanted the Bills to select Worthy just to stop the Chiefs getting him (a real "cut off your nose to spite your face" move), they were going to get him anyway, either by picking him at 32 for free or by trading up with the Cowboys or the Ravens to get ahead of the 49ers (a trade which would have gained nothing for the Bills and which would have cost less for the Chiefs)

So, did you want them to draft Worthy just to deny him to the Chiefs?

No, the Bills could make whatever pick they wanted at 28, you just don’t help KC get who they want through you.

I don’t think worrying about other teams is a good strategy.

Clearly, there was no one at 28 who the Bills wanted.

The fact that KC ended up getting a WR without pick doesn’t faze me.

I don’t care what KC does.

I find it hard fo believe that Beane is content going into next season with our current WRs plus any receiver(s) he gets in subsequent rounds.

    He has a plan.

You don’t help the team that’s been eating your lunch for three years, plain and simple.

DeVonta Smith got his bag today, and $25m/per is no small number.  I would think Aiyuk will command more than this, and I know a lot of people have been thinking Bills could trade for him, make some crazy offer for Jefferson, or even Higgins (no thanks).

I have a hard time seeing Beane see this kind of money going out for a WR2 and thinking its a good idea to trade for a WR1 likely to cost more than this.  I won't rule it out, Beane has shown to be aggressive when he wants a player, but I would think this pushes Aiyuk contract demands up even more and I am gonna guess Jefferson might end up the first WR over $30M (Hill being the first to hit $30M).

We are staring at a historically great WR draft, so is Beane going to focus there (maybe he already was) or would he still pull the trigger knowing he is gonna have to pay one north of $25M per?  My gut says draft, we are in a different cap situation then when we traded for Diggs and Allen was on his rookie deal still, so hard to see him want to take on that much cap with a WR draft this strong in front of him.  But never know...

Bills are in a soft rebuild, they’re not adding top talent. Trading Diggs makes it evident they’re going to try and do more with less. No way they’re eating his $31 million in dead cap money only to add big dollars on top of it.

Trading Diggs just solidifies Beane taking WR in the 1st round and possibly moving up to do so - unless he's playing 4-D chess with a trade coming to replace Diggs.

I don’t think there is any money to trade for anyone else

Let's put it in perspective. Diggs became a really expensive decoy last year. First ten games Dorsey forced him the ball and even when he eclisped 100 yards we lost half those games.  We lose his salary, gain some capital and I believe Beane has a plan.

I’m not sure about capital. They got a 2025 second, gave up a 6th this year and a 5th next year to move him. Feels like Beane got beat up on this one

  8. Feeling indifferent. They haven’t done anything that would indicate they will take the next step and get over the hump next season. Another Divisional Round loss is probable, maybe even a Wild Card knockout. Can’t beat Burrow or Mahomes when it counts and they didn’t get any better this offseason.

Any idea how much draft capital is needed to go from 28 to top 10?

IMO…very very small chance of this happening.

Probably 28 plus Diggs (never happening) is the only thing that could move them up that far. Not enough high picks

  10. I don’t know how losing Morse, Poyer, Hyde, White, Floyd, and Davis makes them better. I don’t know how an already depleted WR core that subtracts instead of adds makes them better. I don’t know

how a team that can’t get passed the Divisional Round doesn’t sign any impact FA makes them better. Sometimes people see what they want to see, but these Bills are not better, no matter what they do in the draft.
