  1.

They have Brady listed as receiving $1M salary ($14M cap hit), which is ridiculous. Gronk plays for $7M. It's pretty sick.

Part of it is if you're winning, players want to stay with a winner. But a lot of it is NE has a stable system for a long time and can trade off expensive "star" players for extra draft picks, so they can take extra shots on goal at drafting replacements while making their salary cap hits someone else's problem.

Brady's deal is the definition of kicking the cap hit down the road. He has 2 massive cap hits compared to this year and next in his age 40 and 41 seasons.

  2. Okay Kirby, so why isn't he playing?

Clemsons offense averaged 81.2 snaps per game(#13) in 2015 and 82.9 in 2016 (9th). They also played 30 games over those 2 seasons. I think over the 2500 or so offensive plays he earned the right to sit out a meaningless game in favor of a prospect who could use some more evaluation time.

  3. Cyprien from JAX had quietly a solid season, Berry and Cyprien graded out the same on PFF and he could be had for much cheaper.

I would let Gilmore walk and sign Cyprien and Captain Munnerlyn to shore up the secondary. I dont think Adams or Hooker will be there at 10, but it will give up the option to trade down if Watson is off the board to someone like Arizona or Cleveland so they cant draft Kizer and we can scoop up a 2nd round pick.

I would love those 2 signings, draft Corey Davis WR, then grab a CB and a LB or OL with the extra pick.

  4. I don't recommend cutting Dareus, he just needs to get over his laziness. In addition I would add TT. He spoke loud by taking the surgery and backing the Bills organization into paying him this offseason. No REAL leader does that.

Is this serious about Taylor? The guy has been nothing short of a perfect teammate in his 2 years here. He is the 1st guy in the building on practice days and he said absolutely nothing wrong at all after the season... He had surgery the first chance he could so he could be HEALTHY as soon as possible. Some people just like to make things up.

  5. March 9 the teams can begin to sign Free Agents and make trades.

March 11 the team that owns Tryod Taylors contract has to decide if they want to trigger his option bonus.

I would sign a vet QB if possible at the right price. If that doesnt happen I keep Taylor.

On March 9th I would then trade him to Denver (only because they seem to want him) for a 1st and a 3rd or 4th round pick. They can then pickup his option and have their guy signed below market value.

I would then either draft a QB with one of our 2 1st round picks, or use them both to trade up for that QB if said QB seems like a franchise guy.

  6. ive seen smith make those plays in the big moments a few more times than TT but i suppose hes had a lot more opportunities. it might be some confirmation bias on my part, or just dumb luck on theirs but it feels like smith has a bit more of a knack for winning the winnable games. also think hes a bit more complete.

but yea, its not a terrible comparable.

It's tough to compare because the only time Smith has been successful as a whole is with a stud Defense. In SF and now KC they Defense is very very good. Tyrod has had two year with bottom 5-10 Defenses or his record would certainly look much better.
