    Welcome to The Wall, STL-Bills.

Right now I can only see the Bills going with best player available in the 2019 draft. I would think they would go offense, because we do need help on the line at wide receiver and running back.

This of course depends on what we do in free agency, considering how much money the Bills will have to spend, but I know you primarily want to look at the draft in general.

One thing I will say about next year's draft is that I would not be surprised if the Bills went with defense in the first round. Defensive Line is by far the top position in next year's draft. Both at Tackle & End, there are a lot of prospects that will be worthy of being taken in the first round, and enough depth at the position to last throughout the first round. I could easily see McBeane having a good look at one of those D-Line players.

    Ed Oliver baby!!!!

Won't happen, so long as Brady and Roethlisberger are still playing.

Time will catch up to both players. As the bills add more talent to the roster and are more balanced they will definitely be a challenge for the pats. All this is contingent on progression of Allen.

This year may be fun but look ahead to 2019.

Our young quarterbacks will be slotted.  Our defense will be established.  AND - most importantly - our DEAD CAP of $46 mil will be resolved.

In 2019 we are projected to have $65 mil in cap space.  Go get the OL in FA we need and a couple of LB's.

I expect a deep run into the play-offs!   WONDERFUL!

Actually will have roughly 80 million in cap for 2019 which could be closer to 90 depending on player transactions.

John, you’re awesome but have you ever not liked a Bills’ personnel move? ?

and I agree that I’m happy that took a qb.  But I definitely question the qb they took.  They took the biggest risk qb.  If he doesn’t work out, they will look like giant morons because there was a ton of evidence that he will struggle.  And I’ve never wanted to be more wrong about anything.

I trust McDermott 100% on defense.  However so far, he has been questionable at best at his offensive player evaluations.

Not sure how u can question McDermott evaluation on Offense. He didn’t get the guy he wanted to manage the O in his first year and had to settle for his second option. This didn’t work out so he moved onto the guy he ultimately wanted immediately as the year ended. Moving on from Watkins was smart cause they were never going to retain him so getting something instead of nothing was a win win. I wish they could of retained one of three initial wrs but that will work out in the end. Moving on from cordy was writing on the wall and getting a high round first is a genius. Same can be said about Tyrod who was not the qb they wanted to build around. I think Daboll will work wonders once he has his players in place. He also will actually be a great coach and make the best out of what he has this year watch out next year!!!! BTW noway do I draft Mayfield he has the biggest attitude (bad attitude) BTW no way would he of been fit in buffalo’s culture ), Darnold no thanks, Rosen bad attitude , health concerns , slim frame, immobile and noway would he of fit into the culture in Buffalo. I think they got the best guy for what they envisioned as a fit in there culture and talent wise. U take a look at the upcoming QB class? The Bills got an actual QB that can be molded into a franchise guy no way can u say that about the guys coming out in 2019 :)

...McBeane covets his draft picks and just don't see him taking the gamble.....think he prefers to roll the dice on UDFA's before risking a pick here.....just a hunch...

One position that I would never second guess the Bills with is CB. If the higher ups rate Beal as a first round talent in next years draft and believe he can be an upgrade to there cb position they will most definitely offer up a 2 or 3. If this is the case Vontae is a one and done and u r looking at ur 2019 starter. I think he will be the instant backup for Davis this year or even nickle. Most likely means Levi Wallace is PS bound. BTW I love the potential of Levi Wallace and think he could turn out being a stud.

Just what the organization needed, another evaluation season.

What do u expect with an incomplete O and the D just about there but missing a few pieces and depth. Beane quoted for sayin it would take 2 full years to clean up the cap as it has been. Now in year 3 and 4 the rest of the rebuild will be completed. Year 3 should be a legit year to compete with a wealth of talent on both O and D. I think if allen makes all necessary steps to be legit no reason why the bills can not challenge for the divisional title. Year 4 more influx of talent via draft and FA plus extending younger talent should result in a title contending year. Year 5 contend. These r highly possible with the key being the success of Allen. I think most importantly with McDermott and Beane the future is BRIGHT!!!!

  7. 2018 season is for assessing the team to determine needs. I think they address both oline and adding play makers to the O. I believe the wr core has talent but may be missing one player to put them over the top. The O-line also may be overhauled next offseason as well with adding 2 new starters to both guard and tackle. Additionally I think they address oline depth. On D they will look to see if Vontae proves himself or not and earns an extension or if one of the younger guys steps up. I think they address LB depth and depending on draft spot will pick Kyle’s replacement. I think either Lawson or Hughes will be traded next offseason. If Hughes doesn’t improve his sack numbers with his contract I could see him on the way out.

His real issue isn't upper body strength, it's core/functional strength (FWIW, he was 3rd amongst LBs in the bench at the 2017 combine)..

If he can add some bulk to his lower body and develop better leverage when taking on blockers he'll be better against the run.

After being in the NFL already I know this is something he will realize and each year he will work towards bulking up.

All the talk of him slimming down and getting quicker off the ball may of just been smoke for trade bait

Could be time will tell. I think u don’t move on from a DE that u have for 2 more years at a reasonable contract who could prove to be a monster in the rotation.

I mean, if you get an average/solid starter in the 5th round thats a huge win.

"rising star" seems a bit much but we shall see!

Milano Will definitely benefit from the talent around him. He is always around the ball which was also the case at BC. He will only get better. He is a potential STUD!!!!! As for his hamstring it’s a little thing that needs to be managed. Keep Humber is for depth and Zo is a vet holding down the fort until they get his replacement in next years draft and/or Edmunds takes over. Meaning they go to the draft for Mike which has ton of talent. Also I think the replace Kyle with elite talent next draft as well!!! Bad things man bad things!!!

  11. I definetly see them being active in 2019 and 2020 free agencies. Teams have to spend a % or there available cap each year.

In 2019 I see them focusing on upgrading Oline and wr core. In 2020 looking for needs and extended young core.

    Possible transactions:

    - After 2018 season I could see them extending young guys (Dawkins, Zay and Milano). Note: This would be the year before final year(2020) for each mentioned player and I would do this only for core players that have been producing (i.e. Dawkins so far in there careers) otherwise play the wait and see game. Tre Da’ has option for 5th year being 2021 in the 4th year 2020.

    - After 2018 season if Mccoy shows no sign of lossing a step I could see them restructur- ing his contract to get Afew more years out of him. Note: Drafting a rb to replace him will be addressed in the next 2 drafts.

    - After 2019 season I could see them restructuring Murphies contract.

    Upcoming Free Agents:

    - 2019 offseason: Main guys KB, Groy, Schmidt, A. Davis ( he just doesn’t seem to fit in but we will see) Role Players: John Miller, Alexander, Newhouse, Mills, Pitts.

    - 2020 offseason: Main Mccoy, Clay, Mcarron, Hughes and HouseMoney.2020 offseason no big time free agents and 2021 offseason this is when the young core from 2017 need extended.

So yes they will be active in 2019 free agency. A rebuild involves free agency and draft. Via free agency I see a couple big names for the oline and a couple wrs to add to the wr core will work wonders.

Note: same applies to 2020 but this is when I see them extended more of there own young guys.
