  1. Just imagine if they draft a QB at 10 and he doesn't turn into a franchise guy. All these people saying take one will be crying about how we reached. Rinse, repeat.

Please put Dak behind an average O-line and an average running game and he is garbage. Guy landed in the right place at the right moment. We'll see how much he progresses this year.

I agree that he had a primo setup in Dallas, but I've always liked the kid. Nowhere near garbage.

  2. This is the only way I'd be ok with drafting O.J. Howard at 10. We'd have our replacement for Clay and would be able to pay for both Hopkins and Sammy. That gives us the best WR tandem in the league, with Clay and Howard, Shady and Gillislee for a year. I know we don't throw as much as other teams, but dynamic playmakers can only elevate Taylor's play. He drops some sweet dimes deep and really all over the field if you go back and watch tape. Give him those two to throw to on the outside and Clay and Howard in 2 TE sets and that would be a juggernaut.

  3. We'll pass on a QB in the draft. Taylor will be the same guy next year. We'll be "in the hunt" in November and out of it by December. McDermott will want to win meaningless games, and we'll win enough to not have the ammo to draft a good QB in next years draft. The drought will definitely hit the 20 year mark, and I bet it gets to 25. This is freaking awful. Just awful.

Lowered expectations. It'll just be that much better when they go to the playoffs

  4. Dude, I am sorry but Gilmore costs this team games with his unwillingness to tackle. Flat out, the guy is a kitty. He has the size and ability, but he isn't willing to stick his head in there and make a form tackle. When you have a 3rd and 7 on the opening drive of the home opener against the Jets, they run a bubble screen, Gilmore is right there for the tackle, doesn't put in the effort and the guy gets and easy first down, that is unacceptable. That play was right in front of me about 30 rows up. All he had to do is put in a little effort and slow the WR down and the linebackers would have got there. He was too much of a kitty to make the attempt.

When it's you and the running back and he catches the ball with no momentum, you are right there to make a tackle and you throw a shoulder, that is unacceptable. The running back runs for 40 because you decided to puss out.

When you get burned deep by a slow receiver and turn around before the receiver is in the end zone looking for a teammate to blame, that is unacceptable. Good riddance to Gilmore, we will be better with someone who is isn't as talented but is willing to play a complete game and not blame his teammates when he !@#$s up.

Mark my words, whoever signs him will be talking about cutting him in 2-3 years, the next Jarius Byrd.

I agree that this year, especially, he was a bad tackler and looked to avoid contact. Not making an excuse, but I did notice this much more this year as opposed to years past. I think the contract year had a huge part to play in that. It is what it is, I think after he gets paid what he feels he is worth he will put in the work and play with a chip on his shoulder. No evidence to base this off of just a feeling.

  5. Deion was a horrible tackler. I've seen Sherman wiff a bunch of times.

The only great CB tackler I can think of is Revis.

I think Revis island set up unreasonable expectations for Gilmore here in Buffalo. We looked at him like our very own island and expected him to carry the team, and got outraged when he couldn't. I've had more than my fair share to say about Gilmore myself, but he's not nearly as bad as some people make him out to be. If we don't miss him next year it'll be due to a solid draft.

  6. I'm of 3 minds:

    1) kick the tires on a vet like Vollmer to see what he's got left

    2) look for a guy like Garcia or Roderick Johnson in R3

    3) if all else fails, move Glenn to RT and Kouandjio to LT

1.) I'am actually a huge Vollmer fan, but he's injury riddled of late. Can we get him cheap after he missed all of last year? If so, good choice

2.) As much as I would normally agree with this, not this year. I'd rather have a vet that can step in and perform well from the go.

3.) I've felt like this at times, but wouldn't they have done it by now if they were going to?

  7. I would not be upset if we traded down. We need more than 6 picks.

Fair enough, I wouldn't be opposed to trading back for more picks either, but I feel with a draft like this, we could pick up what we need in free agency to make a reasonable push. I'd grab Ricky Wagner at RT, and Alteraun Verner at CB and I'd trust Whaley to find a gem or two off the heap at other areas of need.

  8. As a 5th rounder, I don't think you can go wrong with Robinette, you can see his profile here:

Lorenzo Jerome may not pan out, but it's a 6th round pick. You can check out his draft profile here:

I've only watched his highlight video, but kid looks like a baller (though against lower level talent)

High upside picks with the future in mind, towards building something.

  9. I can see this going in so many different directions, who's to know? Excited about this draft. Here is how I'd like to see it play out. I realize players may not be available there in real life, but here goes:

10: Corey Davis, WR Western Michigan

    44: Budda Baker, S Washington

75: Rasoul Douglas CB West Virginia

156: Jalen Robinette WR Air Force

    171: Chad Kelly QB Mississippi

195: Lorenzo Jerome S Saint Francis

I'm sure I'll get roasted for using multiple picks on the same position, but if we could shore up our back end and receiving corps in one foul swoop, it sure would be nice.
