Yeah.  If in February, someone had shown me that receivingg lineup, I would have said, "Wha ..?"   I mean, really, the total absence of proven, high-end talent is bewildering.   It's not like they signed a guy who had been great once but had fallen off.   The BEST season any Bills receiver ever had was Samuel's 851 yards for Carolina in 2020.

If Samuel, MVS, Shakir, and Hollins ALL replicate their BEST seasons, the four of them still won't have 3000 yards.

As I keep saying, it's all about Brady and Allen.  Scheme, play calling, and execution.

Claypool had more than 851 yards in both 2020 and 2021

Don't forget to add Dawson Knox to the list.

But if everybody makes the roster we have a ton of size. Claypool, MVS, and Coleman, plus Kincaid and Knox. The Bills seem to have a plan to get bigger on offense.

My guess is MVS and Claypool are pushing for the same roster spot.

with his 1.25 signing bonus, I don't think MVS is really competing with Claypool.  MVS is close to a lock.  I think Clayool is competing prmarily with Shorter for the last WR slot.

This is my last chance to post this video again.

Just a reminder that Troy Franklin DOES IT ALL and got better every year at Oregon.

Not sure what people aren't seeing from this guy.

I wouldn't mind him in Rd2, I think at 28 he would be overdrafted.  Bills do seem to like him though with all the communication, so I'll trust Beane

Just an awful move if the Bills trade up for not just a kid that isn't ready to be a major contributor next season, but also a player that could very well last up until their pick.

There's absolutely no need to go up to 17 for this kid. He's not worth the trade up.

If you are gonna do a trade up for BTJ, then you might as well go all in and trade up for one of the top three.

I would stand pat and draft Worthy at 28 and hope for a trade back up in the second for Legette or Coleman to pair with Worthy

I understand your rationale, but, I don't think Worthy is anywhere close to the WR as Thomas II,  Picking him at 28 is a severe overdraft.  I would much rather draft Ladd at 28 and trade up to the middle 2nd to grab Legette, Franklin, Worthy or Coleman

I am leaning more and more that the Bills should try to trade back into the early 2nd and get back a 3rd rounder. Draft a boundary guy like Legette or roll the dice on a guy like Worthy and grab Tez Walker later.

Yeah I like your idea - these mock draft simulators probably don't hold too true, but they seem to have Thomas II going too high in the 1st and often have Mitchell going before our 28.  My favorite ideas are:

    1. Ladd McConkey and trade #60 and our 2nd round pick next year for #40 and grab Legette.  Would love adding Ladd and Legette and the draft is so deep at DLine that we can get good ones in Rds 4 and 5. Remember, we'd still have the 32 pick of Minnesota next year, or

    2. Ladd at #28 and see who last to 60s.  Legette and Franklin will probably be gone, but could get Walker, Baker, maybe even Polk.  Ladd and Walker would be nice

Draft a wide receiver and wait a few weeks after and there should be some good wide receiver options.

Hopefully draft more than 1 WR. But, yes, after 6.1 we'll have some extra money to spend

    Agree.

My "dream draft" is we land a combination of: Mitchell/Legette/Worthy/Coleman

Mitchell, Legette, Worthy are all possible/likely to come off the board from 21-40 IMO.  I think Coleman gets into the 40s, possible 50s due to his forty time.  But Coleman crushed the other "splits"/gauntlet drill, and created separation while at MSU (his time at FSU, in a simplified offense, didn't benefit him).

Get me some speed, and add a physical freak in Coleman who I think could be a steal in Rd2 (likely requiring a trade up).

Tez Walker is my fallback plan at 60.

This is the year to double dip at WR early.  We NEED downfield threats, more than 1.  Kincaid/Samuel/Shakir are solid underneath and intermediate options (Knox/Cook short too).  Samuel I think gets moved around alot/Swiss army knife.  But downfield, we have nobody I'd count on right now. And that was clearly missing in our arsenal LY.

Go get a 1 yr DE rental after draft.  Use rest of this years draft on best available at DT (3 tech), S, CB, and OL.

I agree with you but I add ladd to the list.  I think he may end up being the best of all of the above,

This is the best move for the roster moving forward IMO

They shouldn't move multiple high round picks to grab a WR in the first round in a WR rich class.

If you wanna move up in round two because there is still someone you considered worthy of the pick you wanna go up to in order to draft them, then that is much more affordable and doesn't take much away for next season when you now will have at least three picks in the first two rounds.

Agreed, especially considering that some of the 2024 mid 2nd round WR's would possibly be 1st round WR's in a normal year.  WR position is stacked as is DL, both very good for us.  Beane should get some steals in rounds 4/5/6, even 7 where he currently has 8 picks

I could live with McConkey and Legette, but deep down I'm still hoping Thomas falls to the late teens so we can make a move.

In the mock I did, Thomas actually fell to #28.  It would be a dream, but I think not realistic, so I didn't choose him.

I like the move a poster said earlier. Draft McConkey@28 and move back up in the second for Legette/Coleman

Yep - that was me I think.  I believe trading up to 5/6 cost too much,  so I think Beane Monitors Thomas II and if he falls to the late teens, he tries to trade #28 and a 2025 2nd to move up and grab him.  If Thomas II goes earlier than 15, he does something like this mock draft I just did.

    #28 McConkey

    Trade #60, #133 and #160 to PHI for #50

#50 Legette (note: Coleman and Polk arestill available too if Beane prefers either).  Perhaps, if it played out this way, Beane wouldn't trade up and just wait to see who last to #60

  11. It's certainly the riskier option, but, I think we need to go young.  I draft McConkey at #28 and move up from #60 to the low to mid 40's and double up by drafting Legette/Coleman/Polk or Franklin - whomever they prefer and whomever is left.  From their meetings, it really seems the Bills like McConkey and Legette.  Franklin too but he's model skinny.

Nabers was the very 1st player Josh mentioned when he listed the WR’s in this draft class. Could be a tell of who he wants most

    (A) Nabers is my choice too, but he may go to LAC at #5 after Harrison goes #4 to ARI.  If he last to #6. Beane should have a deal in place with his old friend Schoen:

    #6 to BUF

    #28, 2025 1st and 2025 2nd (prob the one just acquired) and a 5th in 2024 and 5th in 2025 to NYG

A lot to give up but Nabers is worth it

    (B) Alternatively, my second favorite idea is drafting my man crush McConkey at #28 (not a sure thing he lasts to #28 though) and either moving up in the 2nd round or standing pat (depending if there's a run on the 2nd tier receivers) to get Franklin, Legette, Polk, Coleman, Wilson, Worthy, Burton, Walker (whomever they like best)

    (C) a small trade up for Thomas JR if he slides to late teens is what I think Beane does.  #28 and 2025 2nd to move up.

here is an outside the box idea.

28 and next years 1 to Dallas for CeeDee Lamb.  Dallas has been dropping hints at not wanting to sign him long term with a possible rebuild next year with a new staff.

He is a do everything wr, extremely arrogant but he plays all the spots, is a YAC guy .....but he needs a monster contract.  A rookie allows them to next year spend money on defense.

    how about:

    Odell Beckham UFA

If Thomas falls to late teens, trade #28 + our 2025 2nd to grab him

    or

    Odell Beckham UFA

    #28 Ladd McConkey

    Trade #60+ a 2025 3rd to low/mid 40s and grab Franklin, Legette or Polk
