I think we should talk to the Jets about Bridgewater as I don’t buy that Peterman will work out and he would be an upgrade for depth, but I seriously doubt the Jets would shop him to a division rival.

He could if they did go for it would be an upgrade and compete with McCarren for the starting role.  If he gets hurt again we can always move Peterman back up from the practice squad.  He still new enough would qualify for the practice squad.

lets face it Allen needs to sit for a year.

Did you call in to One Bills Live today?  17 straight days of rain?

I still don't understand the Broncos. Trevor Siemian was better than of their current QBs and they got rid. They paid a journeyman QB silly money after he had 1 good season in a decade of terrible ones, yet somehow they are being praised. I absolutely expect them to be drafting top 3 in 2019. Joseph is a terrible coach who has never managed to create a good defense. They are going to be a disaster this season.

John's ego would be hurt if they didn't keep Paxton and Trevor was never John's guy.  He was Kubiak's.  I agree that VJ is a terrible coach, but we'll see what transpires this year

Same thing he is not a winner. He had a losing record in college at UCLA with lots of talent. How does he plan on winning the most games in NFL history. Never have I heard a Rookie QB spew this kind of stuff before even getting drafted. He is in for a rude awakening. Troy Vincent just might have to come out of retirement. Wonder if he will pull a Ryan Leaf and go spastic when the Vets stick him with the dinner bill. This guy loves to talk and can’t even back it up.

Technically he was 17-12...  UCLA went 1-6 when he wasn't playing so that kind of debunks your losing record with lots of talent.

Edit: Not including the two bowl games, but even still 17-14 if you want to include them

What idiot says he will win more SuperBowls then brady before he even takes a snap in the NFL.

He actually never said he will win more Super Bowls than Brady.  He said it would be cool to be the winningist QB in NFL history, he wants to win the most games and the most championships.

  5. So it seems local media still agree that A Lynn is the leader in the clubhouse to get the job. With that said every candidate we've interviewed is available to be hired immediately with the exceprion of 1 .... Kris Richard.

With the Bills seemingly finished with their interviews or about to be it would make sense for that decision to come down at the end of the week. So if it is indeed A. LYNN I suspect we will hear something by Friday.

Now if nothing happens by Friday, I think itd be a strong indication that RICHARD might be the guy. Remember the Bills nor Richard can come to any agreement until rhe Seahawks are eliminated from the playoffs, and that could be a while.

I'm actally excited about Richard so Im excited to see what unfolds this week. Im rooting for no news.

BTW....has Richard gotten any other HC interviews this yr.?

Looks like we are the only ones so far that have interviewed him.

  6. My vote is a bit misleading -- I'm in NYC, and despise the Jets, but for various reasons (some fantasy, some friend fans), the Giants have become a goto 2nd team (but light years behind my Bills fandom).

Same goes with me and Denver. Been out here 21 years, definitely do not have the passion for the Broncos like I do for my Bills, but root for them, because I watch with friends.

  7. I look at greatness differently than the rest of the mouth breathers. If Larry Bird had been coaching the teams his teams had lost to in the playoffs, he would have rings. Would Phil Jackson have beaten Larry Bird if the two switched places? No !@#$ing way and the results are likely more skewed toward the more talented team. Shaq and Kobe in their primes against aging Mark Jackson, Reggie Miller, and Rick Smits? Please.

I don't consider Marv Levy a great coach because I believe Joe Gibbs, Jimmie Johnson, and Bill Parcells all win Super Bowls with the BILLS against their respective teams with Levy at the helm.

Donnie Walsh, who has forgotten more about basketball than all but a handful of people on this planet know, said Bird was the best manager of a team that he's ever seen. That holds more weight than you trying to displace shoving your leg down your gullet.

 I'm still waiting for your suggested metric for measuring greatness in team sports... or is this it? You go off feel and your gut when determining this? That seems rather subjective, arbitrary and unhelpful in terms of discussion purposes. You sure you don't want to rethink the way you classify things? I've been around professional athletes my entire life, was raised by one, and to a man each one will tell you that all that matters is winning rings. Bird would agree.

As for the "That holds more than you trying to displace shoving your leg down your gullet," that's not true. I fully admit that middling was the wrong adjective to assign Bird's coaching tenure. But calling him a great coach is just as inaccurate. You cannot be considered "great" with zero rings in professional sports or coaching. Sorry. That's just how the world works.

So... What if said coach makes it to the HOF? I agree with Greggy that championships matter, and that's how most people gauge greatness. I would say Marv was a great coach. He may not have won any rings, but getting to the SB the way he did makes him great IMO (sure there's some bias)? I would say with the way Andy Reid has performed as a coach (especially with the Eagles) will get him into the HOF one day.

EDIT: Bud Grant is another HOF coach that never won a championship

  8. Braves at #2 totally discredited this list. San Diego belongs in the mix. Much as it pains me to say it, the Bills AFL championship shouldn't be counted. It was still a secondary league, and they were not better than the Lombardi era Packers.

They included any "secondary league" that merged into a major league (AFL, WHA, ABA)

What about the '64 AFL championship??

They started their research with the 1965 seasons for all major league sports (MLS excluded)

  9.

What do we know about Osweiler? Just curious because I know nothing about him but I am in the mood to let anyone come on over and show us what you got. Saying "No thanks" tells me you've been keeping an eye on him?...

Guy was a 2nd round John Elway pick. Maybe he's learned a thing or two behind Manning? I doubt Broncos trade him for anything but just curious.

Edit: "Osweiler was put into the line in an attempt to block the Patriots game-winning field-goal, as he is the tallest member of the team at 6'8" (203 cm)."

I can tell you that the Broncos FO does not think Osweiler is the answer. I forget what game Manning had to sit out due to flu symptoms, but Osweiler stunk it up, and Manning was back in at half.

*As far as being "the answer," I mean to replace Manning.
