No reason to think he's professionally trained but he sounds that way.  Strong voice, concise thoughts and his draft/player evaluation background gives his opinions insight that most of the others lack.  Opinionated = interesting while pigheaded = annoying.  One of his best takes was on DJ Metcalf.  While the whole NFL community dropped him down in 2019 he kept him top 5, I think.   His evals of Bills picks often fall in line with where Beane actually ended up taking them.

He is a professional at podcasting. It is one of his gigs.  He does Draft Dudes (also excellent!) and Locked on Bills podcasts and writes for the Draft Network.  No other jobs.  He is a pro!!

Carter was doing good in preseason last year before he got hurt. They didn’t keep him around for no reason. At the end of the day I think he will be the punter.

I agree he has the best chance of those we have now. Could add another in draft (late) or a undrafted free agree agent

  4. Zay Jones with Bills in 2019....

    - Bills will not serious look at trading until and unless: 1. We get to August AND 2. we have another backup Outside WR  ahead/equal to of him AND 3. a backup Slot WR ahead/equal of him

He is the primary backup at outside WR and likely slot WR right now, in my opinion.

Zay Jones comes to camp with the Bill's. McBeane loves to stack them and have depth in camp for competition and in case of injury.

If we draft another WR or two, high enough it possibly could change. If the Bill's focus on DE, DT, OL, TE in tgre first three to four picks, he is comixing to camp.  Until then, sit back and relax!! Zay is a cost controlled WR with 2 years left, lots of experience, that can serve as a backup/part-time player or starter, if needed b/c of injury.

  5. I am sure Pegula is there to watch and get a feel for the young man. Let McDermott and crew determine his football IQ and Pegula can get a feel for what kind of person he is. Some people will put down Pegula for going but how else is he going to broaden his football horizons? Pegula will never be a scout or a coach, he doesnt need to be, but getting an understanding of what coaches are looking for goes a long ways in making decisions.

Exactly. He should be letting football people make the football decisions but he should meet them and look him in the eyes and see what he thinks about him before becoming the potential face of the franchise.
  6. The Bills and Steelers both scored 399 points but Tyrod's the "problem"

But they scored many of those 399 b/c of our strong defense. Yes, that was sarcasm.

IMHO, Tyrod's option should be picked up unless they move up to draft Kiser or Turbisky or draft Watson (whenever they determine they need to get him). The BOTTOMLINE is that they MUST get one of those 3 in the draft and start them in 2017, IMHO.

Romo (too old), Mahommes (too much of a project from what I have heard but I guess he is the last draft possibility).

In order to not pickup the Tyrod option, Whaley will have to be bold and likely do what the Rams and Eagles did last year. That goes along with his MO for trading....time to for a QB now!!

  7. Hey, as long as the Pegulas are willing to pay for his invaluable services then who cares? It's not like he took the job away from someone else. I'm sure that this position was invented so that he could have it.

Pat Kirwin found a tie between coaching staff size (smaller) and winning. Yep, the Bills had the most coaches last year and the other 4 in the top 5 were losing teams.

    See below.

We need to beat the odds!!!! Go Bills!

  8. Let me preface this by saying that I am not rooting for this. I want Rex and his new D coach hires to work so the Bills improve on D and go to the playoffs next year. Would love it as everyone here would.

That said I have doubts and concerns about Rex bringing in Rob Ryan (shaky track record) and Ed Reed (unproven coaching commodity) and losing Donnie Henderson. He was, IMO, one of the best coaches on the Bills. I was a fan of his coaching style, his results with McKelvin, Darby, Gilmore and Aaron Williams (conversion to Safety ) and liked his interviews (okay, least important!). So while I am generally a Bills koolaid drinking fan, I am not feeling it right now.

If Rex does not get the Bills into the Playoffs next year or significantly improve our D to be top 12, I would be okay with moving on from Rex and promoting Greg Roman to HC. I prefer stability and keeping Rex and Roman, but if Rex's D struggles we may have to move on. If Roman's star is shining bright after 2016, I would pull a Lovie Smith on Rex and go with Roman.

It sure would be an ugly offseason in 2017 if we retained Rex and a struggling D's coaching staff and let Roman walk. Hopefully that is a moot point and all goes well.

    Go Bills!!

  9. Run the table?

I think we can afford one more loss as long as it's not to the Jets.

We MIGHT be able to lose an NFC. KC is almost a lock. We can lose 1 more game that is an NFC game if Pittsburgh and NYJ lose 2 more and Houston and Oakland lose 1 more.

I believe we are IN if that is the case.

  10. I thought Bronson Hill looked better in preseason but what do I know? As for Fluellen, his nickname should be "Yo-yo."

I agree. Looked like he made better decisions running the ball. One cut and then move Fwd quickly. Good hands. I thought he has a definite notch above Cier re.

Maybe he did not know the playbook and blitz pickups as well as Cierre. Must be...

  11. Well he is the CEO who comes on the radio and blows smoke about how concerned he is with the "fan experience". He wasn't waiting in line for 30+ minutes today, and it's not asking too much for your radio folks, who criticize the Bills over everything, to at least ASK him about it.

    Vegas55,

Walk around toward the fieldhouse or the gates by the store. We went through there (by the store) in about 5 minutes at 12:25. Painless.

If people keep going to the east side (away team) gates to wait in long lines, it just makes it easier for the rest of us to get it.

  12. I like Tannehill too. I was wrong about him. He can play at a Flacco level which is good enough to win. I thought Tannehill was destined to be Dalton. A little too good to just dump but never good enough to do anything.

I agree is he is good enough to win. I was very impressed with him against the Bills in the 2nd game last year and in the preseason game against the Panthers last weekend.

    Is he better than Flacco?

    Yes!

Have you seen his wife? He is (must be) be better looking!
