  1. Strange, how they can bring in competition from Fred and CJ and have 2 more backups who could challenge for playing time, but we can't bring in anyone to compete with E.J ? Why is it because he's to fragile ? Better competition means better players. If E.J flames out then so be it, he wont be the first, and we go looking for another QB next year in round 2 since we have no round 1 pick.

  2. Some of you guys need to stop living in the past and stop comparing these guys to the glory years guys. Kelly, Reed, Bruce, Thurman, Biscuit etc.

All of these kids are totally different, they have to find their own way not the Jim Kelly way or the Bruce Smith way.

Give them the opportunity to be themself and not have to try to chase an image of a former player.

There is another thread talking about whose our Darryl Talley? Do you mean LB, leader, tackler or Spiderman body suit wearer?

For God sake let the past be the past and look to the future with the players we have and stop comparing them to players of old.

  3. Does it seem like to anyone else that the Bills for the last 15 year's or so have been looking for the next Bruce Smith, Jim Kelly, Shane Conman, Thurman etc?

Mario clearly is our Bruce wannabe, but he can't turn games like Bruce could. Remember when Bruce crushed Boomer, half the Stadium thought Bruce had killed him.

We've had so many Qb's since Kelly, I can't even list them all. JP Losman gunslinger, Rob Johnson, Billy Joel Hobert. The only one who came close to playing like Kelly was Flutie and then we don't play him in a playoff game.

Poz was going to be the 2nd coming of Conlan, they both were from small towns and went to Penn St. Poz never quite lived up to expectations.

Travis Henry, Antowain Smith, Darrick Homes,Marshawn Lynch all supposed to be the next Thurman, now Freddy and CJ. Sorry they all pale compared to Thurman.

Stop looking to repeat the past, build a team for the NFL today not the NFL 25 years ago.

  4. 1. Ok so he buys the team for a Billion.

    2. He builds a new stadium downtown and a 300 room hotel and parking ramp for 300 cars. All the traveling teams, staff, coaches, players, and media stay there when they arrive. Sorry fans you need to stay at Harborcenter instead.

    3. He has guaranteed sellout of rooms, food and beverage, and parking, income for 8 days a year.

    4. The other 357 days he has the opportunity to sell room nights, trips ,packages to the falls. He can further capitalize on the Harborcenter, hockey, Canalside.

    5. With a roof on the Stadium he can host larger events that the First Niagara can't. NCAA basketball Finals, Wrestling, Hockey.

    6. The State high school Football Championship could be held there instead of Syracuse.

    7. The facility could also host a variety of conventions, shows, not to mention all the general business travel and tourism that Buffalo gets.

  5. If it was the Washington Blackskins, this name would have been changed a long time ago. Al and Jessie would have staged protests, marches, but since it doesn't profit them ($$$) they won't be bringing their spin machine to Washington to lobby for a change.

But sorry to say the Indians in this country only seem to have any clout when it comes to building casinos, land, water and mineral deals, or shutting down the Thruway. They are very much a forgotten people in our country.

  6. Fact:

In Orlando, in addition to rebuilding 80% of the 65,000 seat Citrus Bowl for now $207 Million, and no team that plays there week in and week out, we now have lost effective yesterday Capital One as The Bowl sponsor for the January 1 Game.

Just up the street a mile from there, the city of Orlando is building a new Professional Soccer Stadium to the tune of $110 Million For the Orlando City Lions set to open in 2016.

All of the 20,000 seats are covered, and the cement Lion Mascot that you pass by when you enter the Stadium, rotates at GAMETIME and faces the field. If it ate a player from the other team, it would be way cooler.

Maybe Buffalo could do the same thing with 2 snorting cement Bison, who snort when the Bills score, or they could just chase after Tom Brady with them.

  7. A stadium here would be good, but The Fed govt needs to clean up those brownfields, It's way past time for that.

While they are at it, they need to knock down about 90 % of those grain elevators, which are horrible to look at and serve next to no practical purpose anymore. Keep 1 or 2 of them for the preservationists.

Then keep tearing down the blighted properties all over town, and rehabbing others.

Able body folks on social services, welfare can help with mowing grass, painting, cleaning, maybe some can even learn to build and get jobs in the construction industry.
