  1. It's an interesting thought...

Another though I had yesterday was...Let's say the Bills grab Evans at #9...Then for some crazy reason the Draft gets into the 20's and Ebron is still around...Would the Bills be wise to give up their #1 in 2015 to get Evans AND Ebron in this Draft? Can you imagine? B-)

I don't think of the two that Ebron would be the one to fall. It may be wiser to grab Ebron at 9 and then if Evans is still sitting around at pick 20 then we trade up to make the move. Ebron in my mind is the next coming of Vernon Davis and he was a top 10 pick that's why I think Ebron wouod be the wiser choice at 9

  2. Haven't seen anything posted on him yet. He has just turned 29 and will be a free agent. He has had a bad injury history and isn't fully the same player he used to be so he shouldn't to expensive to sign. I think if we could get him on like a 3yr $15-20mil contract he could be a good help to the linebackers. I like Worilds also but he is a 3-4 outside linebacker and probably won't fit our scheme. What do you all think about Beason

  3. We should get on the phone with the Rams and see if they would like to swap picks and we will give them Byrd in the process. So we would tag Byrd then give him to the Rams for the number 2 overall pick and they could have our 9th and we can get Clowney. The Rams would still have two first round picks and we wouldn't lose any picks in the process or do it with Cleveland since they also have two first rounders. The only reason why I brought up the Rams is because I think they would be more likely in trading back than the Browns would because I don't think the Browns are gonna want to possibly miss out on a QB at 4

  4. Let's say EJ gets sacked once every 10 drop backs, is it a lot yeah it is. However the other 9 times he is getting the ball out he needs weapons to get the ball to. That's why getting a playmaker like Evans is more of a priority than oline. A game changing WR will have more of an impact on a game than an olineman. A playmaker who puts points on the board is more important out of a top 10 pick

  5. LOL, I told someone this was gonna come up after they beat them so bad.

No, I don't think they could have nor did spy on them. They just are a very good team and waaaay more physical and dominated every line of scrimmage, every facet of the game, and hit them every second of the game and had a better game plan based on their preparation for Manning and the Broncos. Thats how you beat timing teams who play with finesse...hit em in the mouth.

PS: Spy Gate is still over exaggerated in terms of the impact it had. And if anyone thinks for a second the Pats were the only team doing it, then I have some magic beans to sell you. There is a reason coaches cover their mouths, because everyone on the other side of the field is doing anything and everything to get information from their opponent, including reading lips.

Reading lips is one thing. Having someone on another teams sideline during the game taping their hand signals is another. The fact that Goodell had someone destroy the evidence before an investigation could even be conducted should speak volumes about how bad it really was

  6. Any chance at all that people might think he could drop to us at 9. He is an absolute beast at OLB which is a huge need of ours. I believe that how far he falls could depend on what the Raiders do at 5. If the Raiders go QB and take what could be the 4th QB off the board at that point then that could leave Clowney to fall to 6 to the Falcons and they will definitely draft him because they need pass rush help also. I do think Barr might not fall past the Bucs at 7 though. If he falls past them he could be ours for the taking

  7. Getting Hardy will not put us over the top of anything. Having EJ play like a top 20 NFL QB will get this franchise over the top with/without Hardy, or even Byrd for that matter.

Like Trent Dilfer put the Ravens over the top in 2000 right? They had an absolute beast defense. If Ej could even be slightly better than Dilfer with a great defense we will be in great shape

  8. Whaley has already said the BILLS will take a similar approach to FA that they did this year...which means no big splash guys. And honestly, I'm good with that. In all due respect to Mario, you don't build a consistent winner through FA, you get complimentary players, good but not superstar material, to add to your Draft class. Look at how the truly successful teams have done it. The ones who have been inconsistent or just bad at it have tried the Yankees approach in the NFL and it's gone poorly for them. That's not to say Hardy isn't a good / great player, but one position just isn't worth that money at this point for the BILLS. Like another poster said, I'd rather they put that money into a couple Offensive line positions, and another DB. As for Byrd, if you can't get him to sign a reasonable deal, then Franchise him and trade him. Like, NOW

I'm not referring to splurging completely and doing what the Eagles did a few years ago when they stock piled on big name free agents. I do think though there is no harm in getting one big name player to put us over the top and then get the second tier free agents to fill other gaps. If we could manage to resign Byrd and then get Hardy we can then focus on he second tier guys and the draft. We have great cap space.

  9. He is a free agent this year and is only gonna be 26 when the season starts. He has been an absolute beast the past two seasons with 26 sacks for the Panthers. Would be a nice complement to Mario on the opposite side. Thoughts?

  10. Watching Ebron I believe he is the next coming of Vernon Davis. He has tremendous speed for tight end. Vernon Davis went 6th overall in 2006. If Ebron can run in the 4.5's particularly on the lower end of it. I would definitely pull the trigger at 9.

  11.

Try this on for "it is what it is"

In the 14 years that Belichick has been the HC of the Pats his team has been in the AFC championship game 8 times, he has been to the super bowl 5 times and he's won the super bowl 3 times. This all done in an era of football that is designed to prevent such complete and total domination. Now think about this for a sec!

If you are blind to this and, instead to choose to bring up other arguments in order to make your point then, my guess is you have a hate so strong for Belichick that nothing he can do will ever change your opinion on him.

And if his QB wasn't brady he wouldn't have most of this stuff. This year they went 12-4. Brady has had the worst talent he has probably ever had to work with and still had a good season. If he had Cassel this year like he had in 2008 when cassel still had Moss and Welker to work with they probably would have missed the playoffs or just barely snuck in

  12.

Impossible to say for sure since Belichick's never had carte blanche when it comes to assembling a team sans salary cap restriction. However, 1 quick look at some of the truly suspect players that gave Belichick significant reps during his tenure in NE outta make it plainly obvious that said players were only on the roster because his roster was sal cap limited.

So much wrong with all of what you say but let's focus on just the above quoted points you make.

If all of Belichick's guys suck as you say then doesn't that make what Belichick accomplished (with such lousy people) all the more impressive?

Everything I stated is a fact how can it be wrong? He has a 41-57 record without Brady minus the 2008 season. It is what it is. The assistants that he had that failed should be able to learn something from him on how to coach if he is so good. People have learned from Parcells

  13. Belichick would be nothing without Brady. He was a failure in Cleveland and his first season in New England without Brady they went 5-11. They started the next season 0-2 with Bledsoe and looked like they were well on their way to another losing season before Brady took over.

Many people like to bring up the question "What about when Brady got hurt and Cassell came in and they still went 11-5" well by that point the team was already so well established. They still had Welker and Moss and a system that had already been in place for about 7-8 years. They weren't just gonna completely collapse and go 3-13 after a 16-0 season that's just not gonna happen with any coach.

If u take the 2008 season out of Belichick's resume, his record without Brady going back to his days in Cleveland is 41-57. Also, if he is such a genius then why did he have to cheat the way that he did.

People also say that Bill Parcells may not have won a super bowl without him. Bill Parcells turned around every franchise he coached that includes the Cowboys without Belichick. Parcells took Quincy Carter to the playoffs in his first season there after they went 5-11 in each of the 3 seasons before he got there and Dave Campo the coach prior to him getting there couldn't do it. Belichick had Bernie Kosar who was far better than Carter his first two and a half seasons in Cleveland and still couldn't get to the playoffs with him. The genius was so smart he dumped Kosar which he got under a lot of heat for and till this day still says was his biggest regret.

One other thing I like to point out is that if Belichick is such a genius why has everyone else around him with the exception of Parcells failed

Charlie Weis-Failed in Notre Dame and was fired

Romeo Crennel- Also failed in Cleveland as well as Kansas City

Eric Mangini-Failed as Jets head coach as well as Cleveland's head coach

Josh McDaniels- Failed as Broncos head coach

Nick Saban- Though he has done well with Alabama (a college team) he failed as Dolphins head coach

Jim Schwartz- Failed as Lions head coach

Scott Pioli- Failed as GM of the Chiefs

Mike Tannenbaum- Failed as GM of the Jets

You look at Parcells who I think is the greatest ever and look how many people had success under him

Tom Coughlin- Took the Jaguars to the playoffs a bunch of times and the championship game twice and has won two super bowls with the Giants (both of which he beat Belichick in) with a lesser QB

Sean Payton- Has turned around the Saints and won a Super Bowl with them

Tony Sparano- Was fired as Dolphins head coach but also turned them around from a 1-15 team to an 11-5 division winner the next season so he had some kind of success as a head coach.

Belichick was a defensive coach on 2 teams prior to being the Patriots head coach with the Giants and again with Jets. Yet he has not been able to put together a solid defense in 14 years in New England. If he is such a genius why can he not put together a decent defense when he is known as a defensive mind.

Bottom line, Bill Belichick is nothing more than a coordinator in this league without Brady. He got lucky on a 6th round pick that has made him loom great
