  1. What's up Buffadorks? Enjoying the snow?

Just wanted to drop in and say that you crazily deluded fans are in for a BIG letdown this Sunday. The Dolphins do not lose on their home turf, nobody comes into our house and beats us, especially the worst team probably in the NFL's history.

It's really funny how everybody here is acting like they just won the lottery cuz of a 5-1 start. Just pathetic. But when you have 0 superbowls, gotta take success where you can get it huh?

I know you're going to reply about the Dolphins 2-4 record but anybody who REALLY knows football (aka not you guys and not the "experts") knows that the Fins are one of a very few favorites to win the Superbowl this year.

But I'll lay off now, I know how bad it must suck to live in Buffalo, bad weather, two awful teams who have never won anything.

    Can't wait for Sunday.

    WHAT EXACTLY ARE YOU SMOKING??

  2. You'll need to "splain" me on this. I'm not an advocate for time warner... just a 'bang for the buck' kinda guy.

The only other options are a sattelite provider... and they don't provide the local chanels as I underand it... you have to usea secondary receiver/antenna/dish to receive the local chanels.

But... do the satellite providers charge you extra for HD? yeah...most of em do.

Then you have fios... but where's the HD

There is no clear cut one is better than the other. I comes down to what your personal preferences are and what works for you.

I'm a time warner subscriber... I don't have digital cable or the box... but I get about 85 chanels... 6 of which are in HD.

I've considered other options, but when I stack all the options up and compare them side by side, time warner wins for me. I have 6 cable ready tvs (2 hd) running off a single cable line feed and a distribution box. No cable boxes. The same set up for a satellite system would require 6 receiver boxes and the fee that goes with it, plus HD fees if I want that option. That would easily double my current cable bill...and I don't see where double the money doubles my viewing pleasure.

I HAVE DISH NETWORK WITH LOCALS AND I GET CHANNEL 4! I SWITCHED 2 YEARS AGO WHEN MY CABLE WENT OUT DURING A PLAYOFF GAME.... AND IT HAPPENED TO BE TIME WARNER!!

  3. Does your bookmark for stadiumwall show up in the address bar as www.stadiumwall.com or as an "IP Address?"

The stuff andy mentioned is where I was headed next....check the new computer's configuration...

Thanks for the help. It is working now. I am not exactly sure if this is what fixed it or not, but I temporarily turned off my Norton Antivirus Auto Protect and am now able to view posts. Any thoughts???? I hate to leave it turned off.

  4. Ummm, no....

A DNS error means that a host name can't be matched with an IP address.  I'm going to over-simplify to give an idea of how it works.  Each machine in the Internet is identified by an "IP address," which is four numbers between 0 and 255, separated by '.'s.  Example 205.75.46.53.  This is how computers find each other.  Of course we don't want to spend all day typing in numbers, so computers can also be identified by host/domain name.  Example: www.stadiumwall.com.  Each host name on the internet is tied to a specific IP address at any one point in time, and a DNS Server is responsible for taking a host name and delivering the IP address.  A DNS error indicates that either you typed in a host name incorrectly (which usually returns as a "host not found" error message) or, more likely, that you have a configuration problem somewhere.  Can you get to other web sites?

Do you get DNS errors for any of the following three?

    http://www.yahoo.com/

    http://www.google.com/

    http://www.engadget.com/

I have no problem logging in to the sites you have above. I also have not found any problems with other sites. Thanks for the help.

  5. Can anyone give me some help?! I have 2 computers in my house. Both with Windows XP. On the newer one I cannot view the posts to any topics on the Stadium Wall. On the older one I can. I keep getting a "cannot find server DNS error". I am thinking it is something to do with my security settings or maybe firewall. Although, I have turned off the firewall, and it didnt seem to make any difference. Any help would be appreciated!!
