Here's what I would do in regards to our RB situation :
07 season : Re-Sign A-Train (2nd rounder 2001) + Sign Chris Brown (3rd rounder 2003)
Let them share the load at RB with the best of FJackson or SWilliams
08 draft : you go there for your blue-chip RB
This gives us all the flexibility that we need to address the defense this year...
Just my 0,02$

The DT I want as a 2-years stop-gap : Robaire Smith (6'4'', 310lbs), 7-years vet that would provide some experience and leadership to our DL rotation...
-
I've seen at least 2 holding calls on Shoebel that weren't called and that offside that wasn't called... boy oh boy!...
-
Go Westbrook vs Houston D...
Dillon is in for a pretty difficult time today!
-
37 Thomas, Kiwaukee DB 5-11 192 28 7 Georgia Southern
Effectively, Kevin Thomas, DB isn't with the Bills anymore...
-
We already have 77 players on the roster (+ 7 players in NFLE)...
I think roster can go to 81 players + NFLE exceptions...

If a trade with PHI was to happen, here's how I see it :
Going along with the scenario that we trade with Chicago (26 (700) for 42+73 (705))... I don't feel good about not having a 2nd round pick... so, here is another scenario involving PHI :
BUF gets : 14 (1100) + 45 (450) = 1550
PHI gets : 8 (1400) + 105 (84) + 134 (39) = 1523
At this point BUF has : 14, 26, 45, 70
@14: Eric Winston, OT
@26: Davin Joseph, OG
@45: John McCargo, DT
@70: Rod Wright, DT
That way, we adress the lines on day 1, and look for sleepers on day 2 with picks 143, 178, 216, 248.
-
This is how I address both lines on day 1 :
Trade with CHI : we get 26 for 42 & 73
Trade with PHI : we get 14 & 45 for 8, 105, 134
At this point we have : 14, 26, 45, 70
@14: Eric Winston, OT
@26: Davin Joseph, OG
@45: John McCargo, DT
@70: Rod Wright, DT
On day 2, you look for hidden gems & sleepers with 143, 178, 216, 248

Bunkley is a beast! (looks like an oversized MLB! with awesome speed!)
Ngata isn't a fat tub of goo at all! He's a monster!
Anyway we get both of them? (just kidding...!)
-
The guy they are looking at @ 12 is ... Eric Winston, OT!
-
Huff seems to be a consensus top 10 pick and although he might have some weaknesses in his play (which rookie doesn't?), I believe he is well worth the #8 pick in this draft.
I see Huff as NC's replacement and the Bills adressing their safety needs in the 3rd (while Bowens/Wire playing the SS position)
-
Let's assume for a second that the Bills are faced with the fact that Nate Clements must be traded (for whatever reasons...)...
Would you go for something like this :
Trade NC to KC for their #1 pick (20th)...
Then take Huff @ 8, Eric Winston @ 20
2nd round : Best DT/OG available
3rd round : a) Best safety available & b) Best DT/OG available depending on what has been done with the 2nd round pick...
Imho, that would be a fantastic 1st day!
-
If we drop to 17, I say we go Eric Winston...
then with 2 2nd round picks, we go OG & DT/S
-
Aaron Gibson should be put on the DL...

If Doug Jolley could costed the Jets a 1st round pick, Moulds should bring at least a second, if n ot a 1st...

"In Buffalo, defensive tackle Ryan Pickett will wrap up his visit today and will meet with Bills officials to try to agree on a contract."
-
Still available... if Marv wants to go with experience @ C...
Jeff Mitchell (Panthers)
Mike Flanagan (Packers)
-
With Moulds probably leaving, here are 3 WRs I wouldn't mind seeing in Buffalo... not to replace Moulds as a #1 WR but to complement what we already have...
Reche Caldwell 6'0" 194
Randy Hymes 6'3" 211 (Big possesion type)
Marc Boerigter 6'3" 225 (Big possesion type)
Everyone is young with 4 years in the league, each one has done something with their respective teams... Nothing flashy but young hungry guys looking for an opportunity...

As I see it : we need some major help! Runyan, Mawae...
-
After listening to Marv, I think we are looking at more than one player for monday...
He said : "we have plans for somebody for monday"... and then he added : "I'd rather make sure that they're here before telling..."
So, we might be looking at Pickett/Mawae/Runyan/D. Lewis...
OK....why isn't McKelvin signed?

Maybe the sticking point is that the Bills are looking for a 6 year deal and McKelvin wants a 5 year one. That might be why it's taking a little longer...
