  1. "We have not run the ball as much as we wanted to in the preseason," Gailey said. "We made this week the week we are going to come back and work on the run game quite a bit.

You are the HC And the guy calling the plays. As much as you wanted to? Did Ralph or Buddy tell you not to run the ball? Because if not then YOU CHOSE not to run the ball, which is your M.O. which is why you were fired in Dallas, why you were fired as an OC In KC.

You feel the need to go 4-5 wide and throw 40x per game if you can

  2. Myself personally, I have always been a big fan of the K-Gun. Especially considering how successful it was for Jim Kelly and the Buffalo Bills during the Superbowl era. Given Ryan Fitzpatricks high intelligence/ ability to read and react swiftly, running a form of the no huddle would allow the Bills QB to use his best attribute while attacking opposing Defenses, Fitzpatricks Brain.

I realize the 1st preseason game got of to a rocky start on Offense, but everyone needs to keep in mind Gailey and Co. are trying out something old/ new and I for one really like the idea.

    I Billieve...

It worked because of the QB running it. Manning is the only other QB to do the same thing successfully. Fitz can't carry Kelly or Mannings jock

  3. https://twitter.com/...731077430804480

I get that Lee was never great and lost a step, but I still can't believe he's dropped so far as to be essentially not a roster player in the NFL any more.

No what you and fans like you don't get is Buffalo gets guys like him (and Fitz) and keep pushing them on us as starters when they clearly aren't. The guy has never been more than a #2 tops and now he isn't good enough to make an NFL roster.

  4. My morning run took me past Mario Williams' house in East Aurora this morning, and his mailbox appears to have taken a recent beating from a baseball bat. His was the only damaged one on the street.

What could the motivation possibly have been? No sacks in the preseason game? Just because he signed a $100 million contract? Random? Obviously no one here will likely have an answer; it's just odd.

Stay Classy Buffalo. This and what happens to yards and we wonder why we have to overpay to get people here?

  5. Still beating your old "Aisle 8 QB" drum? Give it up. The best way to get a franchise QB is to draft one as high as possible.

Which Nix has shown he will not do.As for as drafting Cam at #3, well there are and have been others that are turning out to be pretty good he could have drafted. Bottom line...he refuses to draft a rookie QB high. Therefore Nix and a lack of QB is why this franchise will leave Buffalo without a Lombardi trophy.

  6. I been reading about RG3's game all afternoon.

The hype is worse then Tim Tebow....what a joke.

One TD and now the guy is GOD

First he is more talented than every QB on the Bills roster combined.

Second, he out performed our guys who have much more time and experience in the league.

God? No. Better than and more upside than the crap we keep putting out there, absolutely.

  7. Let's just call this the "Fitz haters thread" and everyone with sanitybshould just back out and let Toshiero, Paintmyhouse, and the other few members of the blind to reason, anti Fitz club pat each other on the back about how a few series in the first preseason game validates them.

Blind to reason? how about you fitz fanatics quit being blind to reality? He is a below average QB who has more than peaked with any potential he had. He is on the same level of RJ, JP, Edwards and the other clowns the Bills have tried to parade as quality starters since Jim Kelly retired.

And another thing, I don't have to like the guy. Being a fan doesn't mean kissing ass and drinking the koolaid. The guy is what he is and many of us see it and with this being a BILLS BOARD we have the right to discuss whatever BILLS related topics we want and NOT be happy with X player or players or even how the team is ran or by its ownership. Somehow the koolaid drinkers seem to miss that.

Let's just call it like it is: right now, Fitz is a middle of the pack QB. He performed well in some areas last year, and needs to improve in some areas.

Yesterday's game didn't show much improvement in anything. That wasn't unique to him, the offense, or this team.

It's one pre-season game, and the people freaking out about it are crazy.

And if next game, Fitz goes 10-of-11 for 100+ yards and 2 TDs on his first 2 drives (like he did last pre-season against Jax), the people proclaiming him a top 5 QB will be crazy too.

Educated fans understand that nothing can be gleaned from the pre-season.

Tough to say...too many variables like coaching, running game, O-line, etc.

Educated fans look at his body of work and Yesterdays performance (preseason or not) is much like his norm. Therefore although its preseason, we have reason to worry.

  8. Bottom line, AGAIN the Bills hang on to an average to below average QB and try to pass him off as an NFL Starter AND we have nothing other than one guy at WR. But hey, lets go ahead and try to go no huddle, 4-5 WR's and throw the ball 500x per game instead of playing to what strengths we have.

I remember people fighting for JP, RG, Trent Edwards etc just as hard as they fight for Fitz. For some reason the Bills nation needs to cling to crap QB's and try to believe they will become something.

  9. Fitz isnt there to win us games, he is there to manage games and give us the opportunity to win. Thats what he did when we were winning. Let our defense keeps us in the game, the running game make most of the yards and only use the pass when needed if fitz passes for 200 odd yards 1 or 2 TD's and 1 INT max then we will be able in a position to win most games.

Then we will never win a superbowl. Outside of one Freak season by the Ravens, the QB MUST Be able to WIN GAMES, not just manage the team. Further proof he isn't the guy

I wasnt worried about fitz as much as not running a single play in a formation other then shotgun, we have 2 excellent running backs we need to use them.

I can't disagree with the issue of not running the ball. If I were RW I would pull nix and gailey aside and tell them cut this run and shoot bull ****. As per an earlier post by me, we don't have WR's we need to cut the 4 WR bull **** sets, go with a normal set including our FB who can block DAMN Well and run the freaking football and play D

  10. Look, Our WR Corp sucks. Out side of homeristic Bills fans screaming the opposite everyone else knows it. We have Stevie a Really good starter then we have a couple #3/#4's on other teams and a bunch of Arena talent.

Until this is addressed we will have issues.

  11. http://profootballta...5-running-back/

Love the bravado, but you have to back this "chip-on-the-shoulder" act up with a full season and near top of the league all purpose yards from scrimmage. Thurman had the chip, but he also had the yards and longevity. If Freddy stays healthy I think he's a top 5 back, but until then I'll withhold judgement.

    RTB

I agree with him. Before he went down he was #1 or #2

  12. It makes my stomach turn that this man is never going to have to work a day in his life. Why does nobody ever say "I want to be a first round bust when I grow up?"

Never work again? How to do you figure? Most of these idiots are broke 2 years after leaving the NFL. I am sure he will claim concussions though and get in on the lawsuit so you might be right

  13. They do it because they don't have full faith in Alex Smith, mediocre WRs, and they have a dominant defense. We have a better QB and a better WR core and better receiving RBs. Chan's offense is FINE.

Fine. I guess fine = a losing record for the Bills and OT away from the superbowl for the niners?

We have the personnel for our current offensive system. We don't have ground and pound RBs. We have multi-tasking finesse runners, and that is fine by me.

Plus, it's far more exciting to see quick release West Coast style offenses showing action every down as opposed to power rushing teams grinding out a couple yards here and there.

No thanks. Our offense is right where it needs to be. Fitz has one more year to show what he can do. But for now, we are a spread West Coast team.

Exciting is winning a superbowl. Saints and Lions had 5000 yard passers and no SB Win. I would take the Ravens 2000 Superbowl team if it produced a win.

  14. Everything in the NFL goes in phases. The current trend is to go 4 WR and put up 5000 yards passing etc. This means Most defenses are getting smaller and faster. At some point it will come back to bigger OL's and a strong running game again.

With our change back to a 4-3 and a great DL we are getting back to what really works on D. What I would like to see is Chan go the San Fran way and lets dump the 4-5 WR sets and get back to a traditional offense NOW and pound the running game, use play action go with bigger WR's TE's etc in the passing game. We have the RB corp to do it and we are building a big OL so lets do it now. San Fran shows it can work I say start now.
