  1. McDermott has been a superb DC this year. So much so, he should definitely be getting HC interest....wait 🤔

    Anyone clamoring for all the head coaches out there calling plays for the offense to get OCs? No. Can do both quite well

  2. 💯 agree. Love that player!

    Media will never accept his greatness and determination without adding ...but the turnovers... because that's the narrative.

    I will excitedly take his 1 passing/ 1 rushing TD per game along with 1 INT. Wouldn't even question the INT if game ends in a W.

    Jets game - bad game. That's on Josh. It happens but not often.

    Every game he gives Bills a chance to win and I personally enjoy watching him be that competitive dog, win and lose.

    Added perspective...I haven't worn my Orton, Edwards, Losman, Manuel, Taylor jerseys in quite some time. And no, I didn't get a Peterman one...did anyone?

    I want to ask if anyone has this problem when getting to the bottom of a thread page?

    I always hit the next page number and it goes to the top of the next page.

    Now when I click the next page, it goes to the bottom of the next page, and I have to scroll back to the top.

    I can't find a setting for anything like this and never had this issue before and just wondered if anyone else is having this issue.

    It happens on my laptop.

    I have had essentially the same issue for many months. Typically I click on a forum headline from the News page and it will open to the bottom of the second page of the thread. I have to click to get to the first page and then scroll up to see the OP's post.

    I'm using a laptop running a Chrome browser. This is the only site where I have this issue.

  4. I'm thinking fans have already forgotten or didn't fully embrace Von's brilliant message... Burn it all! 🔥

    This thread implies the Bills need help. Old thinking which I most certainly would have engaged in, in the past. Burn that sh#t!

    The Bills ARE good. They will be good. Billieve!

    The outcome of a game b/t two lower teams is simply entertainment.

    Be passionate about Bills love, not passionate about *Pat's hate.

  5. I took this question as truly hypothetical - which player would I rather have without regard to cap/picks/salary/etc.....

    I'd take CMC. We have great receivers and great depth. No guarantees with OBJ health, no time to learn nuances of offense, and possibly he can't even catch Allen's fastballs.

    CMC offers something Bills don't have - more offensive creativity

    You're coming to the right place then! Everyone will be open to you stopping by....that's the point

  7. Good problem to have - so many players with valuable skill sets. Admittedly I haven't seen much from Howard but that doesn't mean the coaches don't value him. I also haven't seen a lot of flash from Sweeney - just a hard worker and popular teammate.

    The great part today is we only have to wait until tomorrow - and maybe the day after with post-cutdown transactions - to know for sure.

    If the coaches view their talents and projected production as similar, go with less cost and locker room fav - assuming of course they find a trade partner for Howard.

    Go Bills!

    Charges/allegations are not convictions.  AKA Duke lacrosse team.  Let the process play out

    Final roster not even selected yet. They can cut whomever they please... for farting on the team plane if they wish. What's the upside of keeping him?? Just bring in someone else now, lick wounds from wasted draft pick, and move on. This is a perfect opportunity to reinforce culture / process... and to not be the Browns

    we rarely punt, most kickoffs by both teams go in the endzone....I agree special teams are important but may not need them as often as past years. if we are close to mid field I don't see us punting much at all this year except when obvious

    Of course in-season kick-off strategies change but they were clearly trying not to kick into the endzone in order to evaluate coverage. Hate to bring it up again (I really do) but most wanted a goal-line kick to start the "13 seconds". Need good coverage and tackling.

    Certainly not the same but did anyone else notice how much time was left on the clock near the end of the first half when the Bills kicked off? Yup, 13 seconds! Haha

  10. Fantastic showing against Denver. Probably as exciting a preseason game as I can recall. I actually watched the whole game! So many bubble players I wanted to see play.

    As good as Offense and Defense both appear to be - as well as depth / rotation strength, there are 3 phases to the game and ST appears to be the weak link. Of course the coaches are still rotating players through different roles but there were not a lot of great plays on punt / kick coverage.

    Bubble players have to focus on ST and make that their craft. Forget position needs for bubble players. Bills don't need more RB depth, WR depth, LB depth - they need ST starters! ST play will dictate who makes the final 53.

  11. My take on this thread.....

    it's pretty much a tribute to the great John Madden, so great timing. John broke the mold. Everyone who came after John is pretty much just doing that, following after John. No one like him. John was an entertainer. He knew the game, how to break it down, and how to describe it back to the viewer...with humor!

    For what it's worth, I do like the 3-broadcaster model though. I find it easier to listen occasionally to each of the 3 instead of the back and forth between the play-by-play and the analyst. For that reason, I actually don't mind Riddick, Griese, and Levy. Even if you don't like them individually, you get less of each....which is more. haha

    I see what you did there! 👌

    Ok. Fine. I'll go. Why? Because I've got a secret I need to let go of.

    Grew up and live in Canada so I was raised on the CFL and 3 down football which is obviously superior than allowing an extra down to get the same yardage. I was born in Edmonton and was around 10 through the Gretzky and Warren Moon heydays - what a run! Then Gretzky left for LA and Moon to the Oilers so then I'm a Houston and NFL fan (too much punting in the CFL and what the heck is a rouge, right?)

    I love rooting for the underdog so I hate the Cowboys and SF with Montana (previous to Brady this was my most memorable player retirement) which brings me around to my secret....Bills/Giants SB. I liked Buffalo but was also happy for LT. Being such a fanatic now, I actually feel guilty for not being all-in at the time of Wide Right. Like all Bills fans I share the weight of that disappointment for the pain of future years but for that year...I wasn't yet all-in. There it is. All that to say ...fan since 1991.

    That year I started dating a girl in St.Catherines. She introduced me to crazy Bills tailgating and I knew I had found my peeps. Was in Buffalo the next 3 years for SB waiting to celebrate in the streets. Girl long gone but the treasure remains!

    Bruce and Kelly both on my walls. Soon to frame Josh but need signature first.

    PRoeBill is first initial, last name, middle name and obvious declaration of allegiance...see? It was meant to be

    Haha. That's funny...just realized that's actually not my handle anymore. Still use it pretty much everywhere else but I forgot my password and no longer had access to that registered email so I had to change it.

  15. If I was part of another fan-base and I could pick between the two, hands-down I'd take Josh but of course I'm not. I'm part of the Bills fan-base so I'm biased and my thoughts on the matter mean diddly squat.

    All that matters to me is what / who Josh is as a player and a community member / leader. He is quintessentially Buffalonian. He is, today, more than we could have hoped for. The hospital, his leadership, his competitiveness and desire. I truly get excited to watch him play. All I have wanted for too long is for the Bills to be competitive and entertaining to watch. Josh brings that every single week.

    Mahomes is a very talented player. I like him. He's not Josh. Time will tell of course but I believe we've seen Mahomes' ceiling. I don't believe we've seen just yet how good Josh will be.

  16. Agree with others....the #1 target in FA should be Cordarelle Patterson. Not even close.

    1. Would have said OL earlier in year but the last 4 + 2 games the OL figured out their s#$t and proved they have talent and can compete. Draft and incremental improvements through competition;
    2. Need better pass rush. Bona fide, proven pass rusher rare commodity and $$$$. Need to coach up watcha got;
    3. DBs - no one player is going to catch T.Hill on that route. Never going to stop Hill - just scheme to limit him. Always need more DBs but not in FA;
    4. LBs, WRs - stand pat. We're good

    Cordarelle Patterson is an offensive difference maker. Like him, I also LOVED watching Deebo. To call them "gadget players" is a disservice to them. They are football players. Line up wherever you tell them, get them the ball, let them do damage.

    Cordarelle Patterson can be a:

    • bruising big back (like we desperately need);
    • dual-threat runner / pass catcher in the RPO;
    • KR;
    • WR - although taking reps away from our already more skilled WRs.

    Hard to find this value in any other one player in FA

    Also Josh needs to snap his 1 INT per game streak that's like 5 games in a row or something like that.

    While I agree that INTs (or any turnovers) are obviously undesirable, I have no issue with Josh being aggressive with downfield throws. MUCH easier to take the 1 INT per game along with 2-3 passing TDs - the Carolina game is a perfect example of that. Pretty hard to have sustained success without a failure from time to time
