  1. Considering how much our defense was on the field, I wanted to see how we compared against other team's defenses in terms of points allowed per defensive time on field.

Apparently, it's not a real stat, but I think it has merit.

The Bills' defense was at the top, only allowing .388 points per minute on the field. The next lowest was .513 for the Panthers, and the league average is .724.
We also had the 8th highest amount of time spent on defense with 95:23, while the average was 88.20. So that looks bad on the offense...but the defense still held up.

    That's pretty damned good.

  2. Ok, I know, people hate talking about predictions of national sports "experts". But this one is just funny.

It's amazing how much he hates the Bills. I'm wondering if one of them slept with his wife or something.

  3. No its not.

Report: Trust needs stronger assurances that TO group will keep team in Buffalo.

JBJ: Ridiculous "I'm sacrificing all I have to make this work blah blah" love letter in TBN.

Report: Bidding process for Bills a circus. (Translation: No one is getting the final sale price they wanted...and this dam lease!)

Report: JBJ out. The guy that was supposed to as Kirby said in the other thread be the "face" that persuades the Trust we are keeping team in B-lo blah blah.

That guy is out. After trying to persuade the Trust he wants it to work here. Now its just the TO people and their ability to drive up the bid.

So I'm assuming we're going to get the same "we need a guarantee to stay in WNY" request and the TO group will be writing love letters in TBN now?

This is all crap. They're screwing Pegula out of another 200 million with this garbage..

I dont think they have enough liquid assets to even touch a modest(for him) big by Pegula. Unless they join up with some new group that has tons of liquid assets on hand, they're screwed, IMO.

@ByTimGraham: Two sources in Bills sales process believe Bon Jovi group totally falling apart. They think Tanenbaum/Rogers remaining viable unlikely.

Score another one for the good guys!

  4. Jon Bon Jovi has been chucked from the group, The Post has learned.

The rocker and the deep-pocketed Toronto-based sports team owners who are bidding for the Buffalo Bills have parted way, sources close to the situation said Friday.

The remaining entities in the group — Larry Tanenbaum, chairman of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, which controls the NHL’s Maple Leafs and NBA’s Raptors, and Edward Rogers, chairman of Rogers Communications — believe they are in a stronger position to win the Bills auction without Bon Jovi, sources said.

The New Jersey rocker had led the group, a source close to the situation said. As the lead bidder, Bon Jovi would have been the principal owner and therefore, under NFL rules, would have to put up 30 percent of the purchase price.

With Bon Jovi’s net worth at roughly $300 million, according to sources, the group’s highest bid would have been capped at about $1.1 billion.

With rival bidder Terry Pegula, a fracking billionaire, said to be willing to push a bid toward $1.2 billion or higher, the Toronto group, with Bon Jovi, feared it was bound to lose, sources said.

“Rogers is very serious” about buying the team, another source close to the process said.

There have been recent media reports about the Toronto bid falling apart — but in reality it is reforming, sources said.

Deep-pocketed Donald Trump is still in the bidding, as well. Final bids are due next week.

Morgan Stanley, the investment bank selling the Bills, has been trying to help Bon Jovi find new backers, sources said. Bon Jovi and Tanenbaum spokespeople did not return calls.

  5. He's a friggin rock star. He's established connections with 100,000 people. He's the darling of Jerry Jones and Bob Kraft because he's a friggin rock star. He picked them out of the billionaire boys club hat because the Bills were going to be the first team up for sale.

They agreed to him because they needed an in to the NFL.

Sorry, I dont buy the "picked them out of a hat" idea. I think it's more than a little shortsighted.

Tim Leiweke, CEO of MLSE, confirmed to the Toronto Star last November -- after an initial report by CBS Sports -- that Bon Jovi was part of a Toronto group seeking an NFL team, with MLSE's backing.

"Jon and I are very good friends," Leiweke told the Star. "We talk weekly about his NFL ambitions. And so we're actively engaged, but I think it's still a work in progress."

  6. Again, what is so hard to believe about Jaws having a conversation with his good friend and his good friend saying I want to keep the team in Buffalo? Jbj could very well want to keep the team in Buffalo. The only reason he aligned with the Toronto guys is he needed their billions.

I recall WGR reporting that he has established connections with the Toronto group. He didn't just pick them out of a hat cuz they have money.

  7. A Buffalo Bills prospective ownership group that includes rocker Jon Bon Jovi has conducted a feasibility study into buying the NFL franchise and building a stadium in Toronto, a person close to the situation said.

The study identified at least three potential stadium sites, two in Toronto, including one on the waterfront, and another in the suburb of Mississauga, the person told The Associated Press on Thursday. The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because Bon Jovi and his partners, Larry Tanenbaum and the Rogers family, have not publicly revealed details of their plans to purchase the team.
