1. I don't know what the problem is, but we may be experiencing problems with gifs.  Try a jpg file instead.

    36335

That is correct. JPGs work but GIFs do not.

See my avatar with today's date on it.

If you can not see avatar, you need to turn on avatars in control panel

If you can see it and do not see a box with 9/18 in it then you need to reload images or clear cache

  2. The managing director of Cannonball Run Europe, Tim Porter told Reuters on Tuesday that entrants in the rally of the same name had been fined by Spanish police, citing a law which the Spanish embassy later told his organization does not exist.

"I think it is absolutely outrageous the police can make up laws as they go along," Porter said, adding that another of the rally entrants detained was charged with suspected speeding.

"At least half a dozen of them were picked up in a service station drinking coffee."

The therapeutic power of flowers takes on new meaning with a Japanese gadget that turns plants into audio speakers, making the petals and leaves tremble with good vibrations.

Called Ka-on, which means "flower sound" in Japanese, the machine consists of a donut-shaped magnet and coil at the base of a vase that hooks up to a CD player, stereo or TV.

Place the flowers into the vase, turn on Ka-on and the magnet and coil relay the sound vibrations up the stems through the plant's water tubes.

Near your ear and hear the music emanate from the petals. Touch a leaf, and feel it shake as though in a quiet dance.

Unlike regular speakers, which send sound in one direction, Ka-on shoots it in all directions, filling an entire room with music in a more natural ambiance.

  4. Sheriff's officers had marijuana growing right under their noses - or at least right outside their headquarters - before discovering and removing the illegal weed.

A Green Bay television station, WLUK-TV, reported Tuesday night that it received a tip and alerted the Brown County Sheriff's Department about the greenery in a planter on the south side of the courthouse.

Chief Deputy John Gossage wasn't sure of the plants' identity, but a drug officer confirmed the presence of marijuana.

"Obviously, as a prank, somebody planted this or dropped some seeds into the plants," Gossage said.

The drug officer pulled the six small plants, which were to be destroyed.

"It's a good thing it was brought to our attention because someone may have realized what it was and could've taken it and used it," Gossage said.

  5. Constantin Ritzmann was kept at urging of ST Coach April; he was special teams player and captain.

I think he will be the next Mark Pike. Maybe Bills will get a chance to show off our new Germany DE in a pre-preseason game in Germany next year. I think Germany has passed Canada in number of fans of "American" football.

  6. Five times in seven months?

Originally chosen by Atlanta in the fifth round of the 2002 draft, Kittner was released by the Falcons in late January. He was signed by Cincinnati in April and released a few weeks later. Ditto the New York Giants in May and the New England Patriots in July. It was as if Kittner, 24, had adopted the motto, "have arm, will travel," with particular emphasis on the travel part of the equation.

He will make an excellent scout some day!

    FLUTIE HEADING BACK TO BUFFALO?

A league source tells us that the San Diego Chargers are trying to trade 40-something quarterback Doug Flutie to the Bills.

Flutie made the biggest splash of his NFL career in Buffalo several years back, and the Bills arguably kept the wrong guy when they picked Rob "Rag Doll" Johnson over Flutie following the 2000 season.

Flutie would help shore up a position that has been weakened by injuries to J.P. Losman and Travis Brown.  Recently, the Bills signed veteran Shane Matthews.

The effort by the Chargers to trade Flutie suggests he might be in danger of getting released.

If you read this type stuff and I hope you enjoy National Enquirer too.

  8. If the running game is solid, Bledsoe will feast on the play action pass this season.  On the couple that they ran I realized that he is actually VERY good at this.  It completely froze the LB's.  If we can run, Drew could have a HUGE year!

    17346

Well it is no wonder that defense was shocked - they have not seen Drew doing it before! Before someone clamors and this is preseason and they do not study film, we have been playing Detriot in preseason games last few years so they have seen Drew first hand.

I wonder who Donahoe will trade to Detroit for a late round pick next year? Orlando was featured and game and got interest from Lions. Bannan or Greer maybe?

  9. I used to use paypal but I haven't for a long time.

I went to deposit money via credit card like I did last time and I can not see a way to do so. It appears that the only way to do it is to link my bank account to PayPal and that is not happening - a thief could drain my bank account without normal bank protection

Is that the only way other than selling something and getting credit?

A Swedish teenager who shoplifted a winning lottery ticket that could be worth as much as $1 million has discovered the truth in that old adage 'crime doesn't pay'.

The 15-year-old boy stole the scrape-off lottery ticket from a grocery store outside the northeastern Swedish town of Oernskoeldsvik last week, local media reported Tuesday.

When he went home and scraped the ticket, he discovered it contained a winning combination worth as much as $1 million.

However, state-owned Svenska Spel, which runs government lotteries in Sweden, said neither the boy nor store manager Nygren who caught him will get the payoff.

I bet in some state of the US a laywer would find some way to get him to collect on that ticket minus a 60% fee.

  11. Whose articles? Gregg Easterbrook and Marv Levy both have articles published on NFL.com site although Levy hasn't had anything published since February. I am expecting Levy back in September again.

    Recent Gregg Easterbrook column:

(Aug. 31, 2004) -- In 2001, Drew Bledsoe signed a "10-year, $103 million" contract described in the sports press as the biggest in football history. The "10-year, $103 million" agreement lasted three years and paid $24 million. Maybe the contract was hundreds of pages long -- making the document itself the biggest in NFL history! This winter, Bledsoe consented to tear up the "10-year" contract, replacing it with what is officially a "three-year, $18.5 million" deal but which assures him only of one season and about $9 million. So the "10-year, $103 million" pact has downsized to four years and $33 million, which is still an awfully good stipend for tossing a ball, but about a third of what was originally treated as a mega-blockbuster.

  12. September 6: After 12 noon, New York time, clubs may establish a Practice Squad of five players by signing free agents who do not have an accrued season of free agency credit or who were on the 45-player Active List for less than nine regular season games during their only Accrued Season(s). A player cannot participate on the Practice Squad for more than two seasons.

They obviously have not updated site after increase of practice squad size.

  13. Federal regulators shut down a phony Internet bank claiming to be located in the tiny Colorado town of Bedrock - population 10 - near the Utah state line.

Through its Web site, the First National Bank of Bedrock offered deposit accounts, investments, debit cards and credit cards, according to the federal Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.

The address listed for the bank - 7729 S. Granite Ave. - doesn't exist, said Bedrock postmaster Ruth Swain.

Regulators said it was unclear if the Web site was a joke, perhaps in reference to the fictional town on the old "Flintstones" TV show.

  14. As a bonus to both consumers and store owners, New York state is lifting the sales tax on clothing and footwear items that cost up to $110 for the period Aug. 30 - Sept. 6.

Erie and Niagara counties will participate in the sales tax relief program which the state Legislature approves for two, one-week periods. The other week is scheduled for Jan. 31 - Feb. 6, 2005.

  15. Reuters

Tons of flying tomatoes streaked the streets of Bunol red and left 20,000 visitors wallowing in a pond of pulped fruit as the tiny Spanish town celebrated the world's largest food fight Wednesday.

Locals boarded up windows and locked their doors as drunk and determined revelers donned goggles to prepare for the arrival of six trucks carrying 130 tons of the edible missiles that give the annual "Tomatina" festival its name.

Imagine combining such a food fight with a tailgate or a football game!

  16. The Justice Department has made a series of arrests against purveyors of e-mail "spam" as part of a nationwide crackdown against Internet scam artists.

The investigation involves more than 100 arrests, search warrants and other enforcement actions, such as subpoenas.

Many of the cases involve "phishing," which are e-mails that appear to be from financial institutions and other legitimate businesses but are actually fraudulent. They are used to induce people to provide credit card numbers and other personal information.

    AP

I hope they "follow the money" for there are a LOT of companies who are using SPAMMERS for advertisement and there has to be bigger fishes higher up the chain.

  17. how come our cheerleaders cant wear outfits like that?? atlesat in the summer... <_<

    7284

Because during the summer the Bills play at night and it was pretty cold after dark at both preseason games!

But I think that too many fans are concentrating on the winners and not some of the other participants who have much better "assets".

China's Fei Wang has one of the best assets in the game:

And from what I have seen with the number of women watching / commenting on women's volleyball maybe the next professional women's sport ought to be volleyball. Basketball and other women''s sports do not attract enough male spectators/viewers to be viable but I think women's volleyball would - both women and men.

Imagine all of the interesting team names. :D
