  1. My father was a Giants fan (old school NFL guy). He wanted me to be a Giants fan too. I even remember wearing a Giants poncho to elementary school when it rained.
We rarely watched any other games besides the Giants. But in ‘73 we would watch the Bills, mainly to watch OJ. When he got the 2000, I decided to become a Bills fan. I had just turned 10 years old.  My dad was probably disappointed, but he never said anything and never tried to discourage my fandom.

  2. I live in Pats****** territory. About an hours drive north of Foxboro. My 17 year old son and I declare our house a Bills fan sanctuary. He was born and raised in MA but has been a Bills fan for years. We regularly go to The Harp in Boston, along with a few hundred Bills Backers when not making the 7 hour ride to OP for a game. I am originally from Elmira which is technically central NY but never got into the Giants (my father’s team) and knew no one who liked the Jets...except for some girls who thought Namath was cute.

If you enjoy standing for the entire game, by all means, purchase seats near the field.

I sit in the upper level on about the 35 yard line. 3rd row. I wouldn't trade my seats for anywhere in the lower bowl.

We won't mind standing.  I just feel sorry for the folks who might be behind us.  I'm 7 feet tall and my son id 6'6" (and still growing).

  4. I want to take my son, who is 16, to his first game this year.  We are planning on going to the Tennessee game and will be traveling from MA.  I am hoping to get tickets somewhere in the 131-136 sections.  Being that it is his first game, I want to get as close to the field as possible.  However, I don't want to have our view blocked by all the equipment and media personnel that stand on the field.  Can anyone tell me if this tends to be a problem if seats are too close to the field?  If so, what is a safe row to move back to?

  5. This is my fear:

Krafty Bob will have "secret dinner party" at his mansion sometime before the appeal process/hearings start. Guests will include Brady, Billicheat, and Goodell. Next thing you know, Goodell is appointing Tedy Bruschi as the arbitrator.

In the end, Brady is suspended for the first two preseason games of 2015.

Fine is reduced to to whatever the cost was to reinflate the balls.

They lose a 6th round compensatory pick - the year is TBD.

  6. Just found out that I may be travelling to Phoenix on Sept 6th. I see AZ has a few Bills Backers locations. Any recommendations for opening day? Not knowing the area and definately having a few beers (and wings if available), I don't want to have too drive too far. Most likely staying at the Clarion on La Puenta Ave. if I do go.

  7. NEBillsFan - If you totally dominated another team for 15 years wouldn't you be confident and arrogant? To dominate a team for 15 years is unheard of. That's so rare it's hard to even imagine. Just look at the win/loss record of New England over Buffalo the past decade and a half. I would chalk up any game against the Bills as an automatic win if I were them. Like they say any team can win on any given Sunday but it's hard to ignore past history. It's rare that a team can DOMINATE another for that many years Look at it this way,.the last time the Bills could compete with the Pats, todays high school seniors were still in diapers and weren't even in pre-school.

Louie - Remember, I am talking about these two yahoos on the radio. Not the Pats themselves. Also, confidence is one thing and I agree that they should be confident. Arrogance is another. They EXPECT the Bills to just roll over and play dead just because they have nothing to play for and are just looking forward to time off. That's what pisses me off.

  8. I consider the Patsies the "teacher's pet" of the NFL. They can do no wrong in the NFL's eyes. Even if they get caught cheating, they just get a slap on the wrist. Any other "bully" that tries to pick on them on the playground gets penalized.

Brady has amongst the fewest roughing the passer calls per drop back in the league. Fitz had more..

Because defenders are worried about the consequences.

  9. Last weeks game was the final home game of the year and a chance to knock the Dolphins out of the playoffs so it was basically the Bills Super Bowl so it's really not that far fetched to think they will be flat this week going on the road in a meaningless game for them. The best they can do is worsen the Pats playoff seed which is a little different then having chance to knock them out

But the Bills didn't knock Miami out of the playoffs. They just made it more difficult for them. I want The Bills to make it more difficult for NE to get the the SB bowl.

I think Marrone has this team playing for pride. I know they said that the last couple of years with Gailey, but I didn't feel it. For some reason, it feels different this year. Sort of like saying "Here's a taste of what you can expect next year".

    But maybe that's just me.

  10. Totally agree with everything posted. Once Tommy retires they will go back to being irrelevant and no one will care about them again. I really hate them.

    Go Bills!!

Agreed! A lot of people think Billicheat will have a plan in place to replace Brady and that he is a mastermind. He may be good but they forget that Billy did not have one winning season as a HC until he started Brady. He had one year with Cassel but there was a great supporting cast around him that year.

  11. Just listening to a couple of guys on sports radio in New England talking about this week's game. Not sure who they were. I was just scanning channels and came across these two idiots. They feel that the Bills have nothing to play for and the Patsies do. So the Bills will probably just roll-over and play dead. Saying that it probably won't even be close at the half. The Bills are just thinking it is 60 minutes of work before vacation time.

Man, I hate the arrogance around here. The Bills had nothing to play for last week either and the Dolphins did. Look at that outcome - but no mention of that. I hope the Bills blow them away. I am not expecting it though. I think it will be a close game. Especially if the D steps it up a notch and gets in Brady's face.

Just had to vent a little - thanks.

    Merry Christmas!

  12. I think some folks are putting too much into Marrone's college record. If you look at Bililcheat's record before going to the Patsies, he had a losing record at Cleveland:

4 out of 5 losing seasons

    36 wins / 44 losses (.450)

first season with the Pats (2000), went 5 and 11

Brady takes over in 2001 (after 2 games) and all of a sudden, Billy is a genius?

I guess my point is, the past does not necessarily determine the future. I am going to go into the 2013 season just like I did when Gailey was hired. I hope he can turn things around and get the Bills on track. It just does not matter what's in the past.
