  1. Yeah, I couldn't remember one, but, the last 10 years kind of a blur...

I am fairly sure that Bruce Smith never recorded a regular season safety...I think his only one was the one on Hoestetler in SBXXV.

    Could it be Cornelius Bennett?

I will bet it is a defensive back..Nate Odoms?

    Bruce Smith had 1

    Bennett, none.

    Odomes, none.

  2. This game seems pretty cool, a friend recommended it to me today (and a new season is just about to start!)

Create a player, choose how he behaves/plays on field, training behaviors, attributes, equipment, etc.

I created Leslie Michael Jasper (slimmed him down to 340 lbs though, lol), pretty sweet.

    Check it out! http://goallineblitz.com/game/signup.pl?ref=40898851

p.s. Join team Dover Disruption so we can all be on a same team!

  3. Why? every QB in this draft came with a huge question mark...and not one was gonna start for us this year anyway i'd rather pass on a QB to add a defensive or special-teams player...rather than a clipboard holder....

Next year is the year of the QB.

Just as there were multi-Super Bowl winners from the '04 class (Manning and Roeth..)and another good QB in Rivers, the 2012 draft class will be similar or better in terms of results and production.

Luck, Jones, Barkley, Cousins and Foles.

  4. If Mckelvin can be a starting corner the draft is decent but if not its a bad draft if you get late round finds plus hit on your first rounder. But if you miss on all picks rounds 1-3 it van't be a good draft.

McKelvin has the ability. Once the run D finally improves this year, so too will the secondary.

  5. Agreed. Aren't the Rams a 4-3 team? I assumed even though he was a DE at Carolina that he'd land with a 3-4 team as a rushbacker. In that sense, it seems like a strange fit.

I mentioned before the draft that I felt Aldon Smith was right up there with Quinn…and he landed with a 3-4 team (SF) but many people feel that Smith was a bit of a reach at #7.

Aldon Smith and Jabaal Sheard were my two babies. I wanted the Bills to take Sheard at #34.

Yeah I liked Sheard a lot as well. Wanny knew best I suppose, as you could only put him at OLB in our system. I'm glad he didn't go to New England! He is a talented pass rusher and will definitely help out the Browns D.

Getting back to Aldon Smith, he is a guy that gave me the most trouble when watching his games because he is so young. Still unsure of what to make of him, I think the 49'ers were taking a bit of a gamble. If I was in Harbaugh's position, I would have been wishing I had a third year to have seen some college film on him.

  6. Great write up, Aloha.

The only things I'd add is that the #34 pick will come with scrutiny for quite a long time.

While I liked the Aaron Williams pick, Nix admitted that he turned down trade offers there. And has already been discussed ad nauseum, the Bills passed up on a pass rusher and a quarterback there…whether we like it or not, this pick will be debated for a long time.

Also, I like Chris White better than most people. Bills scout Shawn Heinlen said:

"The one thing that sticks out to me with Chris is you can actually see him going to the ball as it’s snapped. His ability to diagnose plays and fill run lanes is something that he did better than anybody I saw this year on tape."

If you watch the video, you can see how instinctive and excellent White is in terms of linebacker play:

Now, I'm not disagreeing with you there on his ability to detect where the play is going - I just think that he will have trouble adjusting to a faster game in the NFL.

Nix also mentioned how they received about 15 calls per round about trades on S&R talkshow.
