Going into Metlife and smacking the Jets around would be huge for everyone involved. It's not a must win but all divisional games are about as close as you can get imho.

I was at this game and will always remember Sanders for that play. But I hope he does great things here in Buffalo, and quickly changes my memory of him!!
This kid is so good his team picks up 5 yards even when he is asleep!!

BTW, did you know that the Bills are the only team which plays their games… ah… never mind.
update: Coach Sal is reporting that the draft is visiting Jim and Jill Kelly's home… more to follow.
The draft is now reported to be scheduling hunting trips with the Kelly's and petting deer in their back yard!

Past performance is a factor in what you're paid because of what the team believes you can contribute in the 'future'. It is not a reason to be paid.
What the team believes you can contribute in the future is largely based upon what you've done in the past. How can past performance not be a reason to be paid in a future contract? It really doesn't make any difference in the conversation but since you seem to be nit-picking (and not realizing that I was using the same words as a poster a few posts above me for a reason)... there you go.
So... anything to contribute or not?

I think Nix will continue to make the Defense better and this kid will do it.
One of our major issues in the past few years (and is becoming a major issue for many NFL teams) is defending a big, fast TE who can catch the ball. We happen to be trying to overtake a team in our division with two of them (and they are two of the best btw). Drafting a kid who is being talked about as the best cover LB in a long time seems to fill one of our big needs in improving the team. I realize that we need WR and OL as well but if this kid really is as good as people are saying in that facet of the game it seems like a no brainer.

I agree it is time to reward him, but also think the Bills should protect themselves from the over 30 rb curse. Give him a healthy signing bonus and a good base this year. The next two season the base is much less but has considerable incentives for staying healthy.
He is a great guy, and it helps the team if the Bills show they appreciate him. This will only build comradery.
That is what CJ is for. Even if Freddy stars to decline say 2 seasons from now we're still gonna need 2 starting RB cause lets be honest, CJ is a good player, and I hope he turns into a great player, but I haven't seen anything from him suggesting that he is ready to step in full-time (ie. blocking/ dancing). If Freddy isn't asking for anything outrageous then we could be set at RB for the next few years.
Really we're in a great situation as far as our running game goes, I just don't understand why so many people want to trade Freddy. It's just opening up a hole on the team when we still have enough to fill as it is.

And this is exactly how it should be. You're under contract, go play. If you work your tail off, you'll be rewarded.
Exactly correct - Freddy has already played his tail off so it's time for the reward.

Almost time for tip-off, gonna be a tough one but hoping we can get it done. GO ORANGE!!!

Whoa....
I thought Cuse played well....15 3's by wisc was unreal....
Keita was clutch today
Welcome back CJ
Kris...hit yer goddam free throws...
No kidding, was getting very nervous when he missed that one. Great game but honestly we were a better team then they are even without Melo. It would've been a blowout if they weren't hitting 3's on every attempt. Can't wait for the next game!

This. Williams doesn't want to know what the Bills locker room was like in the '90s. He wants to know what it's like today.
The appropriate people for him to talk to are current coaches and players. A former great would just be a distraction.
Like Jim Kelly?

ESPN's John Clayton reporting two sources that say Mario Williams informed the #Bills Tuesday night that he intends to make other visits.
The Clayton report is the same report we saw last night, nothing new on that front.

I have been a Bills fan for 27 years so I am not used to huge signings like this.
I want this to happen so badly
We've had a few over the years but this one feels like it could really be big if it happens. More then just one players contribution on the field but an overall lifting of the franchise out of the doldrums of the past decade or so. Come on Buddy get it done!!!

We are on the precipice of going from an average to legitimate playoff team. Yes, I know we're still a world away but when you've got former players making comments like "Oh my goodness" about the potential line you're now RELEVANT!
MY GOD. What an amazing day to be a Bills fan.
Right there with you - this has been an unreal past few hours.

This would be incredible in the fact that we would have Super Mario on the team and we would have the highest paid player at any position on the team. We would become relevant again in the NFL overnight.

Wish we had a coach with some balls to do something like this or actually I wish we had a team that actually won games to put the coaches in the situation to even consider something like this.
