  1. For what it's worth, I'm taking my 11 year old nephew to the game (his first Bills game ever). He's somewhat noncommittal on what his favorite team is right now, but I'm hoping that being a part of a big crowd and (hopefully) seeing an exciting game will help turn him into a diehard Bills fan (like his long-suffering uncle, lol). It didn't help the Bills sell out the game, but I managed to get 50 yard line seats, 25 rows up, on StubHub for less than $100 each. I don't mind paying a premium if it helps keep him away from some of the rowdiness in the endzone or upper deck.

  2. You need to get new friends! (I actually thought it was going to be like you said. I don't have any kids, but my nephew and his friends, and all my friends' kids are really into the Bills. I am very pleasantly surprised).

My first memory of the Bills was in 1968, so really those first twelve years of '68-80 were not very good, but I still loved the Bills.

My friends are all Bills fans. They just need to disown their kids for their lack of loyalty.

You and I grew up at the same time. At least we had the OJ years (before he turned murderer); those were some good memories.

  3. Every one of the kids that I know who are late teens and in their 20s are huge Bills fans.

I'll bet that less than half of the people I know in that age group (mostly the kids of my friends, since I'm older) are Bills fans. Most of the rest are Packers, Steelers, or Patriot fans. If I ask them why they don't cheer for the Bills, the answer is invariably, "The Bills suck."

  4. How many people in their early-mid 20's are even Bills fans nowadays? While they were growing up, the Bills sucked every year. Other than the fact that they live here, what reason was there to even become a Bills fan and watch them lose game after game? I'd be willing to bet that they became fans of some winning team during their formative years and now have little or no interest in the Bills. That's why the Bills are having trouble selling tickets. The older fans are dying off or are unable to attend games and the younger people simply don't care for the Bills. That leaves a smaller fan base to purchase tickets. And I know even a lot of them are so disillusioned they don't bother either.

If the Bills had put together a few decent seasons in the last 13 years, ticket sales would be better. They only have themselves to blame.

  5. For someone so smart he sure does make a lot of dumb decisions on the field.

I think it is less of a matter of making dumb decisions and more the result of not being physically able to make the plays. Most of the "dumb" plays have been because he is simply not physically capable of hitting open receivers on a consistent basis.

If the Bills could somehow have combined Fitz's brain with Vince Young's physical ability we would have had a franchise quarterback.

  6. In 1981, the Baltimore Colts set the NFL record for allowing 533 points in a 16 game season, an average of 33.3 points per game allowed.

The 1966 NY Giants allowed 430 points in a 14 game schedule, averaging 35.8 points per game allowed.

Through 7 games, the Bills have allowed 227 points, averaging 32.43 points per game allowed. Projecting this over 16 games, this comes out to 519 points allowed for the season.

In short, this means that this years team could have one of the worst defenses IN THE HISTORY OF THE NFL. Ouch.

  7. Yeah I am getting really tired of not being able to sell the december games that I can't make it to. **** can't even give them away.

Tickets on StubHub for as little as $28. Bet the asking price will go down before December, too. Why would anyone even buy a ticket at the box office?

  8. The league giving us 3 home games in December is a recipe for failure. Even when the Bills were good December games were a tough sell. Who want to sit in a snowy windy stadium to see these chumps play? Why can't we have a couple more games in September or October when the weather is decent? It's almost as if the Bills asked the league to set us up as not supporting our team.
