  1. Ok - getting real unconventional - this will only work for one series because Belicheat will adapt quickly... very simple - drop all 11 into coverage. 5 guys in man, 5 in zone, the 11th shadowing Brady 5 yards off. The offensive line can't do anything as they can't go down field. Brady doesn't run - even if given the opportunity. It puts 5 on 11. Run this play - Brady will make a mistake and force the throw...

I ... actually like this plan? Do this, then mix it up with some other unconventional ideas presented here, and maybe we have a shot.

The way I see it, you can assume the Pats** are going to win, so it's actually a great time to experiment with different schemes. I'd try something different every drive and find something that works.

Worst case scenario is you lose horribly (like everyone has so far) but you still get a glimpse at what might work against them in the future.

  2. I just watched Polian on ESPN. From what he said:

    A) Goddell's writeup of is the disciplinary section of his appeal denial was well crafted and seems rather convincing.

    B) It looks rather difficult that an injunction would be obtained.

    C) Federal judges really don't like to contest binding arbitration. If people constantly break binding arbitration, what is the point of binding arbitration?

    Winner winner, chicken dinner.

If anyone cared to read the full report, you'd see that Goodell made very solid arguments for his decision, even comparing his desired punishment to several controversial NFL decisions in the past, including: Brett Favre's d*ck pics, Minnesota/Carolina's ball-warming incident, New Orleans' Bounty-Gate, and others.

Goodell ultimately decided that the punishment was more in line with PED violations. This comparison was made because "steroid use reflects an improper effort to secure a competitive advantage in, and threatens the integrity of, the game." This is exactly what Brady has done. It's hard to see this because most people don't equate drugs to "ball deflation" but ultimately the goal is the same, which is "to gain a competitive advantage."

I expect any Federal judge to look at this, chuckle a bit, and throw it in the trash. There's no way an injunction is ordered. Brady should really quit while he's ahead.

  3. Like Rex, I am completely dumbfounded at the quality of the facilities. After pissing in troughs filled with human feces a few years ago, I did NOT expect that the "behind-the-scenes" video would be so amazing, and feature a high quality, high tech, look at OBD.

This just makes me more excited for the season, and makes me think we're even more capable of attracting bigger, better talent (as long as they don't use the public restrooms).

  4. This was a power play by Marrone that he lost which I think speaks volumes about the Pegulas.

What? He asked for an extension, didn't get it, and by opting out he got an additional $4 million dollars (per NFL.com).

Knowing this now, I don't see how he WOULDN'T opt-out. Good for him.

If this was Pegula's way of pushing him out, good for him too, but I don't think it's a power play by anyone. All parties probably ended up satisfied here.

  5. Ask and ye shall receive.

Here is a post on TSW announcing Chan Gailey as HC from back in 2010. It's quite entertaining to read.

Protip: you can search by date in the advanced search, but be sure to select "The Stadium Wall Archives" from the forum list if you go back too far in time.

    Edit:

Another long thread about the staff he's putting together.

  6. Quarterbacks cannot use the earpiece to determine if receivers are open during a play:

Each team is only allowed one live helmet, designated by a small green dot on the back, on the field at a time. Once the 40-second play clock begins, coaches have 25 seconds to make a call and pass on information. The microphones for all the radio transmitters shut off automatically at the 15-second mark. A league official also is on site to monitor.

Taken from this article, which is a great read: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/nfl-headsets-going-digital-technology-wave-161940280--nfl.html

  7. Stay away from the seller "Jerseybaby" on DHgate. Disaster. Total complete disaster.

Agree 100%. I ordered two custom jerseys from "jerseybaby". One was good, the other had the BILLS front logo off-center by about 3 inches (very noticeable). At first they tried taking $7 off and telling me to get it restitched, but I fought back. Ended up getting $20 off (jersey was $60).

Overall, the hassle wasn't worth it. Stay away from jerseybaby.
