Revis clearly wasn't concerned about who would hear the mockery since there was a CBS camera filming him and he was screaming at the top of his lungs. Sad truth was that he was right. Question is now, what do the Bills do about this next time they face them?
Sanchez runs up to McKelvin in the endzone after a TD pass and mocks him with the overly dramatic "excuse me ***hole" hands up brush by move.
Rex Ryan chest bumping Holmes.
The laughing and guffawing on the sidelines.
The Bills were openly mocked at home to a divisional team that clearly has zero fear of them since they did this knowing they still face each other in three short weeks. Sorry, but I can't ever recall seeing this kind of brashness before. As a fan of the Bills, it was truly embarrassing. What will the Bills do about it? Are they afraid of the Jets? If I were Chan I'd show the mocking on a loop in the locker room during Jet week.
Maybe they'll learn not to talk **** when scheduled to play a real team. I heard the Jets we're amped up after some comments during the week from certain Bills. Like Mike Ness said, "You can talk the talk, but can't walk the walk."

NFL.com article overall reasonable analysis of Bills and Jets strenghts/weaknesses had this:
"At the end of the day, the Jets have limited opposing quarterbacks to a league-low 60.5 quarterback rating, equaling a tough assignment for any signal-caller."
Had me wondering, so I looked under the hood. And it's not so simple.
1st game Romo: 101.9 QB rating. Nope, not a tough assignment for him, just some clutch boneheadedness
3rd game Campbell: 81.7 QB rating. That's pretty standard for Campbell in a run-centered Oak O. Nope, not particularly tough day for him.
5th game Brady: 100.7 QB rating. Typically Brady.
So three overall decent QB (I know some will disagree about Romo and Campbell, but overall that's what they are - decent QB) had quite nice outings. Just another day at the office, no tough assignment at all.
Here's the ugly.
2nd game Carolina QB by Committee:
Luke McCown 1.8 QB rating (no, that's not a typo - zero-one-point-eight: it was a good idea to release David Garrard and his 2010 90.8 QB rating, why?)
Blaine Gabbert 102.8 QB rating (hmmm, maybe that's why?)
4th game Joe Flacco 37.4 QB rating (he's always been a hot-n-cold guy - traditionally it's been Cincy and GB who really pwn him but he seems to be having a bad year)
6th game Matt Moore 41.8 QB rating
7th game Philip Rivers 51.4 QB rating (a low point in an INT-prone year)
The Jets beat up on two hapless backups in McCown and Moore, and gave a serious bad day to two quality QB who are overall having poor (for them) years.
In other words, it's not that the Jets are limiting every QB they face to a mediocre QB rating of 60. It's "bimodal" to use the geek term - 3 of the 5 "decent" QBs they've faced have done just fine thank you, while 2 "decent" QB have struggled against them and they just beat the snot out of a couple of backups.
Looking a little further under the hood, the Ravens are 13th and the Chargers 19th in sacks given up, while the Ravens are a dismal 23rd in the league in QB hits given up.
These facts might have some bearing on the struggles of their QB against the blitz-happy Jets.
As we all know, the Bills are #2 in sacks given up and #7 in QB hits, a testament to both good OL play and quick decision making/release by Fitz. We're on our 3rd string LT, but he did OK last couple games against a good pass rusher.
So. If the OL continues its consistent play and Fitz continues his ability to read-and-react, there is absolutely no reason to believe he will not have a good outing.
On the other hand, if the OL falls apart and we can't adjust by leaving in blockers, the Jets could give Fitz fits.
Oh, by the way - the Jets are 15th in QB hits and 17th in sacks given up. It would surely be kind of us to ensure Sanchez has the view of the Ralph from his back, with a 300 lb behemoth atop him. Though I'm not picky, a 250 lb LB would do.
so... how'd that work out today?

I thought he deserved a game ball.....

I think you're looking waaaaaayyy too much into this preseason scheduling. They're glorified scrimmages, nothing more.
-
that list is awful. Par for the course, with bleacherreport. Here's a little bit more even-handed one from PFW...
http://www.profootballweekly.com/2011/06/10/nfl-head-coach-power-rankings
They have Chan listed 22nd. Still too low in my opinion. (and any list that has Marvin Lewis anywhere near the top half is ridiculous) The guy had his offense with a suspect line, and a journeyman QB, hanging 30 pts. on Balt. def, Pitt. def., and New England's defense. Once the Bills' D can stop the run, that kind of offense is going to win games.

who's laughing now, gringo?

Pats (4-1) close the deal against one of the leagues best teams. Jets (5-1) and Phins (3-2) win tough games on the road. Meanwhile Bills Nation is told to endure the pain and wait three years. Whoopie!!!
Where are all of the posters that dissed all of the free agent signings that the rest of the AFCE made this off season? - L.T. is over the hill, Brandon Marshall is a malcontent, the Pats are on the decline, yadda yadda yadda......
Free agency is NOT how you build a good team. It can be done ONLY through the draft.

Wait, God wanted his team to lose at the end?
Sure. Look at what he let happen to his own kid.
-
Stats can be deceiving.
so can cherry-picking single plays during torrential downpours.
-
Should have been multiple times ... game changing picks. This team could easily be 2 & 3 with the NY media calling for Sanchez' head. That's the point ... he's been VERY lucky. That will change.
"shoulda, coulda, woulda." -the lament of losers.

last i checked, the sun did go up this morning, and my car was still damaged from the yahoo, who sideswiped it and took off this past weekend. to me, that's a big worry and perhaps more disturbing than maybe a football team getting off to an 0-5 start.
This drives me crazy. You're a writer. You've chosen to write about sports, a subject that brings out the passion in it's fans. The same passion that probably set you on your career path. Your blog (or articles etc.) all gain their relevance from the passion of the readers who seek out information that fuels their passion. Then, when that passion turns critical, you deride it and chide those who are passionate about their sport and team, for not having placed this in proper perspective. What unmitigated gall.
Ease up on telling fans not to be passionate. Without the fans' passions, your writing wouldn't be a career, it would be a hobby. You probably bought your sideswiped car with money made from the passion of sports fans, so please spare us the condescension. As the old saying goes: if you can't stand the heat...

So he meant to hit Winfield between the numbers last night? And the Dolphin defender last week?
lol
refresh my memory... was that a pick or not?
-
Can't help thinking what if we signed Rex Ryan instead of the extra year with Jaron? Can you imagine our fans at the games with that defensive philophy? We would be crazy every week. I say do whatever you have to do to get this guy on our team and pull a parcells move. Hire Daddy Ryan as GM of the Bills! Who would he get to be new coach? I wonder...... just dreaming but sure would be nice for us.
His brother, Rob, might be getting some calls for interviews if he keeps Cleveland's defense clicking.
wow.
What's your latest over/under for the week they put in Brunnell?
lol.
Sanchez's "continued poor play" lol.

There is no reason yet to have faith in Buddy Nix et. al, but there is no reason yet not to have faith.
Wouldn't the former constitute the latter?
Welcome to the TSW forums, you'll need to get used to pedantic.

Do you mean the New Jersey Jets?
The New jersey Jets: Still the best team in New York.
-
And for that question and statement the entire organization should b ashamed of themselves! Harris is telling the truth! That's why the jets put their second string QB in! This team has no heart and only certain individuals show up to play! Say wat u want , but I don't see us winning 1 game! Sure there are 3 other teams that are 0-4, but they come to play and they play hard! Each individual player needs to give himself a gut check! If you don't want to play then stay the hell home! Damn, they put in their second string QB!!!! WTF!!!!!
Actually, by the end of the game, the Jets had completely sent in their 2nd squad offense, with only 3 linemen starters. WRs, RBs, TEs and QB were all second string.
-
Well, if not the best team in the league, they are clearly the best in New Jersey.
Apparently, the best in New York too.

He's a decent QB who has given us trouble before.

I'm bumping this thread on Monday.
Make that Sunday afternoon. Mondays are hard enough.

nevermind.

No, John McCain is not a progressive. Are you serious? This would be funny if it weren't tragic that you have the vote.
I'll leave this now--it belongs on PPP.
Believe me, the feeling's mutual.

that is awesome.
