Governor Andrew Cuomo's budget plan calls for a hike in the minimum wage, but no increase in the pay that prisoners make.

Fighting to get prisoners a pay raise may be an uphill battle, but one attorney is trying to make the case. It's been 20 years since NYS has raised the pay for prisoners, and most make 10-cents an hour and must work six hours a day, five days a week.

The Toledo Blade reported on Monday that the state Department of Jobs and Family Services will begin reducing food stamps for Ohio residents beginning in 2013. Reduction estimates should total $50 per family which is about $520 million worth of yearly groceries from a total of 869,000 households.

lol, my guess is that this won't prevent them from voting Dem in 2016.

  3. President Obama intends to close "persistent gaps" between whites and minorities in everything from credit scores and homeownership to test scores and graduation rates.

His remedy — short of new affirmative-action legislation — is to sue financial companies, schools and employers based on "disparate impact" complaints — a stealthy way to achieve racial preferences, opposed 2 to 1 by Americans.

  4. The thing this election proved is that we are further down the path to a European style demise than most of us had thought. The recipient class now clearly outnumbers those who actually make their own wealth. I fear that no conservative could ever get elected president again without selling out with promises of government goodies.

I loved the way Rush put it yesterday-You can't expect the recipient class to vote against Santa Clause, especially when Mitt is running on people being their own Santa Claus.
