  1. Sports media types aren't paid to say boring but accurate things like, "The Bills don't have the best QB situation, lacking a proven signal caller." They're paid to be opinionated, provocative: the Bills are in "panic mode."

I'm just hoping one of the three QBs plays better than Orton played last year and this isn't unlikely.

Cassell. In 2008 with Pats and again in 2010 with the Chiefs, Cassell proved he can be a capable starter when surrounded by the right players. We may have the right players to make him look good again.

EJ. EJ learned a lot riding the pine last year and spent the off season working with a QB guru. Greg Roman and David Lee both have a track record of helping young QBs do better.

    T. Taylor. Always great at eluding the rush, he's had 4 years as Flacco's understudy to polish his throwing ability.

If just one of these three plays this year better than Orton played last year, we're going to the playoffs.

    truth.

  2. Talent is the biggest thing we lack. Pick the position. We lack exceptional players and have for ten plus years. Its 11 on 11, and we just dont win match ups often enough. Yes coaches can make adjustments to help put players in position to win, but obviouly we cant do that either.( That deer in the headlight look of our defense seemingly trying nothing different to get pressure on Sanchez., I could freaking break somthing!) GOOD GOD!!! DO SOMTHING DIFFERENT!!! send the kitchen sink for goodness sake. At some point I want a coach to run on the field and get a sack, so at least someone knocks the freakn qb down. There are things that i hate about this offense like empty backfields, cant stand em. no one to pick up the blitz, no fear of a draw or screen that may slow down a pass rush. Im gonna lose my mind watchn this team, I think I have already. i dont even know what the topic is anymore. AND CAN WE GET A STOP ON 3RD AND LONG! ever? Im going back to my Captain n Coke. Go Bills!

  3. I'm 40 and live in Dayton Oh. My dad had alwaysbeen a bengals fan. In 1991 I decided that I needed to be my own man and pick my own teams to follow. Shortly after one of my roommates offers me a random $10 bet on an NFL game, I take the Bills, and they win. I stick with the Bills thru the season with the same bet, needless to say they won more than they lost in those days. By playoff time I own my first Bills gear, a sweet hat I bought at a drive thru, and billieve me, my mullet looked wicked bad hanging out the back. I had a houseful of people tellin me to turn off the Comeback game, so we could fire up the Street Fighter 2. OHH no, that aint happening, Ive got the Bills fever by this point, im all in. And do you guys know what those Bills did? They won!!! I said they could do it and they did!! I had hope and God love em they didnt let me down. Im an admitted bandwagon fan from 1991, but ive been as loyal as a local since then. never wavering in my support, which at this point may be a sign of insanity. Ive been to 2 home games, both losses to the fish. But up until last season, every trip to Cincy was well rewarded with victory. My red Explorer is covered in Bills logos, half of my clothes are Bills logoed. Its been a long time since the glory days, but Im still cheering. Go Bills!!

  4. Lighten up. I don't have to hate a guy because he's an average, or even bad, quarterback. He's our only QB right now, he's one of few likable QBs that we've had in the past 10 years, and he's easy to root for. Being that this is an internet message board, I'd guess that at least half of the visitors are fans of either beards or Star Wars. Unlike yourself, most of us can distinguish between the "cool"ness of a player and his playing ability. We're not asking for him to be invited to the pro bowl or get multi-million dollar deals because he grows a sweet beard, we're just amused that we have a starting player on our team that openly has traits and interests similar to ours.

Memo to rest of league: Let the Wookie Win

    Awesome!!
  5. writing is on the wall... Stevie is good as gone

not sure what the next move for the franchise is, but if it's not to trade up in the draft, it's definitely in the WRONG direction

alot of the folks that post here think its a mistake to trade up. i think if you are sold on a guy, at a position of need, you should move up to get him. we need pass rush badly. find the best, go get him.

  6. I was thinking the same thing last night. At this point, Fitz and Tyler are not better than Pryor. The reality is that there is no chance that we make the playoffs this year. So with that said, we might as will experiment with Pryor at both TE and QB. The starter should clearly be Smith but can alernate with Pryor. Fitz is not playing as if he wants a new contract.

    Plan to sucess

    -Fix the line

    -Sign Pryor

-Next year bring in Luck and Jenkins

no to Pryer. if u want a mobile QB give it to Brad Smith. i live 45 min. from Colubus & billieve me Pryer isnt even close to being a starter. hes a 1 read & run guy. maybe 2 reads on the same side of the field, maybe. hes a freak athletically no denying that. id give a 4th rd pick for him to play TE maybe even a 3rd. wouldnt give a 6th rd pick for him at qb.imho

  7. This is outstanding WOW there's a lil race card going on because why is every QB on that list except 2 Black? Its a stretch I know but when I notice that I cracked a smile. Why can't Cam be like Cam? Why compare him to anybody. And how the hell can he be compared to Jamarcus Russell. Lets begin, Jamarcus isn't a scrambler Cam is. Cam is fast Jamarcus is fat I mean slow, Jamarcus is Fat Cam's not. Both have arms ok, Cam's won just about everything invented Jamarcus hasn't. Both are black. So besides they're both black with arms how are the similar again? Don't gimme that read defense BS cuz nobody knows what Cam can do in the league. So how are they similar?

id say the comparison to Russell is legit. both played very well in the SEC,including playing well in BCS bowl games. Russell had over 350 combined yards & 3 tds in the Sugar Bowl with MVP honors. both are 6'6" tall. both over 250 lbs. both left for the NFL early. sounds legit to me.

  8. I am a little late here and will share my $.02 and touch on what others have said.

Starks and his team are in the playoffs while Spiller and the Bills are not. Just like with Lynch, these two teams are in the playoffs, their RB's have been a factor in their success in the playoffs - one game or not, and something must be said for that; all while Spiller is spending his rookie postseason at home.

and McGahee scored this past weekend. i love watching former Bills playing well in the post season. Jim Leonhard is a great example of being an impact player, we just didnt seem to need.

  9. I bought a new car for 20K 3 years ago. It has low mileage because I was out of town for months. The warranty has expired. It runs great but makes a little ticking noise. I wouldn't worry about it. I will sell this car for 16K or best offer.

im picking up what your putting down, but if i offered u $7500, would you take it? i understand a players value(or anythings value)is determined by what someone else would pay. it just seems like another failure to trade an '07 12th overall pick for a pair of much later picks. i just wanna freakn win!! doesnt seem to matter, pickn a coach, pickn free agents, pickn draft picks,or choosing the damn starter, we always seem to lose. the 90s feel very far away. thank you for reading.

  10. He's from Ohio St. - stay away - bust material!!! Oh and by the way - Go Blue!

Go Blow!! i mean blue,my bad. Mich dude is right, stay away from Pryor.if i hear Pryors name for the Bills it may be "head in the oven" time.i would take Troy Smith any day. not Pryor.

Geesh, must be a Dayton fan....

ouch. why r ya hating on Dayton? massive job loss, expanses of unused,& run down buildings. coupled with horrible inner city schools. Oh yea,i almost forgot, we have big fountains in the river. whats not to like?

  11. Anyone making the trip to the Queen City? I'm no longer living in Cincy, but will be flying in that weekend to go to the Rutgers @ UC game on Saturday (www.catstix.com) then the Bills @ Bengals game on Sunday.

If you're going, feel free to reply in this thread or PM me if you want advice on where to go/what to do...

Also, despite the fact that we're having (yet another) down season, we've still got this to enjoy...gotta keep the streak alive:

    11/26/89 - CIN 7 @ BUF 24

    10/21/91 - CIN 16 @ BUF 35

    11/17/96 - CIN 17 @ BUF 31

    12/06/98 - BUF 33 @ CIN 20

    12/29/02 - CIN 9 @ BUF 27

    10/05/03 - CIN 16 @ BUF 22

    12/19/04 - BUF 33 @ CIN 17

    12/24/05 - BUF 37 @ CIN 27

    11/04/07 - CIN 21 @ BUF 33

10 in a row! Lets go Buffalo!

wife & i will be there, i havent missed one here from 98 on. ive seen 2 home games vs the fins, lost em both. nothing but wins here in Ohio.

  12. The Boise State QB - the knock on him is his height. I think he's only 6 foot. Otherwise he looks good. There haven't been many QB's to overcome that hurdle, though - and we had probably the best one in Flutie. What is Brees? 6' 1" I think? He'd probably rate out the best.

I didn't get a chance to see Luck play and in the highlights on sportscenter there wasn't much mention of him, so I assume he had an unspectacular game. Mallett looked o.k., probably better than anything we've had in a decade. His passes did seem to have a little air under them, but they traveled 20, 30 yards pretty regularly.

There's a lot of mention of Ohio State's QB - his name eludes me right now, as a guy the Bills might look at. He's tall and mobile, kind of in the mold of Vince Young, only not bringing as many accolades with him.

I'd like to see more of Luck. He gets so much mention he's got to be talented.

I think there will be three to five NFL capable QB's coming out this year, so it will really be a matter of our staff evaluating them properly.

Pryer from OSU is not a pro qb period. Im def a buckeyes fan,but his passing is pretty much, lock on your primary target,if hes not open ,then run. fine when u r the most talented athlete on the field. wont work at the NFL level.
