  1. Will be a better LT this year than Langston Walker. Walker is a kind of old, fat, overweight giant. He's going to embarrass himself trying to block on the left side. The right side, fine, he can block over there against the chris kelsay's of the world. But 95% of RE's should be able to beat him consistently. Even if Bell is weak, he is athletic enough to keep up with these guys, and you would think he is at least strong enough to push around the Freeney's, Schobel's, Maybin's, and Adalius Thomas's of the world. Being a LT is not about being 6'8 and having no agility, its about being athletic and quick and at least average strength(which Bell should've developed).

Even if Walker is the better football player per se, he will absolutely suck on the left side. And please don't point to the first few games last year. There will undoubtedly be at least 12 times Walker's guy simply runs around him, if he starts at LT.

I think that the younger guy has better athletic skills, and tons of upside!

  2. O.k. its no secret that most Bills fans are down on Jauron after his sub par coaching over the last three years. Now the first question I have is at what point do you fire Jauron? I think if they go 1-4 or 2-6 you pull the plug and start over. Now the question is who do you replace him with? Do you hire a guy like Gruden to try and give him time to evaluate the players on the roster or do you promote from within and see who is available during the offseason? If you do that than who do you hire.

THe pressure is definetly on Jauron fast and furious..with no excuses (injuries etc... the sign of a good coach is overcoming adversity in whatever form it comes in) The problem with switching coaches, there's also the GM position, I would love to see the Bills get Bill Cowher or Gruden.

  3. Bills defense should be better than last year. We now have Maybin a pass rusher and Schobel is back. Stroud will play better with a new contract with incentives and McCargo has a new lease on life at DT. Kelsay, Denney and Johnson are all experienced. We will find out if Ellis has the heart to play. He has the ability but ....... The D-line looks to me as if it is stronger than last year.

The Linebackers with Ellison, Posluszny and Mitchell are average at best. DiGregorio is back from his injury and is a good backup at all three positions. I do not know about Thomas but he must have some ability for the Bills signed him. We have a couple of rookies from this year and last year along with a couple of special team LBs to choose from. This crew is just average at best. They have their good games and bad. At least the D-line looks to be stronger so the LB's may also look good.

The CB's could be great with McGee and McKelvin starting. McKelvin stunk in the beginning of the season last year. He got better with experience and showed great flashes of talent. He needs to keep improving and be the shut down CB he was drafted to be. Good depth with Youboty, Florence and Corner. All players with talent.

The Safeties look to be better this season. With a healthy Whitner at SS and Bryd at Free safety the starters look to be strong and you have to like Scott as a back up at SS. Wilson is a fair FS but excellent on special teams... That leaves Wendling, because he is really good on special teams...

Over all I see the Defense improving to maybe 10th to 12th best.

Special teams will again be right on top of the heap with Coach April leading the charge. He would make a great head coach if given the chance. Last year he lost a lot of special talent. The front office brought in several young players to replace them. This kept the salary cap down. Special Teams started slowly as you will remember but again finished as one of the best or the best in the league. I do not have the final standings. Maybe some one has the site for verification.

The Bills Special Teams and the Defense should improve.

I hope that the linebacker (Bowen) that the Bills drafted last year can come along and be an impact on defense?

  4. Yeah, I admit I've been influenced by the articles since the draft. But what encourages me more than anything is that he grew up around the game. The PRO game. Can anyone say "DB version of Larry Fitzgerald?" If he already has a command of angles he won't have too much of a problem making the transition to FS. He's a natural ball hawk. And will be MORE of one given the freedom he'll have at FS; his more natural position. If, and it's a HUGE if, we can generate ANY type of pressure with a pass rush and force QBs to hurry a bit more, he's gonna be a force. I'm talking an ED REED type of force.

There, I said it. It's out there. We make QBs as uncomfortable as the Ravens do with their fronts, then we have the next Ed Reed at FS. Go ahead. Flame away. But it's the offseason, we are tied for 1st in the conference, and I'm tired of all the pee in my cornflakes around here.

    GO BILLS!!!

I think it's rolling the dice on trying to convert a player into a different positionl it either takes a longer time or ends up being a no go.
