  1. Tim,

On behalf of all of the Buffalo Bills fans that don't have schizoid paranoia and are fair and reasonable minded individuals, I'd ask you to reconsider. People with myopic viewpoints and egocentric beliefs that they are "entitled" to certain information are the minority here, not the majority. I think the majority of us realize that you have a demanding career with insight and information the general public is not privy to and we respect the demand on your time, not just professionally but personally. And that every minute you spend here on this message board, is a minute you could be spending somewhere else; on another PUBLISHED and PAYING story or column, with your family, fishing, BBQing with a beer, or whatever you do in your free time and that we appreciate whatever valuable information you're able to provide. It's the rare few that for whatever reason feel that they "deserve" some explanation. I don't want to over-step my boundaries here, but on behalf of many BILLS fans I want to thank you for your perspective and tell you that what information you can share is more than we'll get anywhere else.

I realize that in your profession you need to be thick-skinned regarding your opinion, but I apologize for the dopes on this board that challenge your reported facts. I absolutely love the Buffalo BILLS, but many of their decisions over the last few years have left me very frustrated, and I believe that much of that frustration has come to a swirling frenzy of shared delusions that have bonded many people together in cyberspace on this board....but no excuse, your integrity should not have been challenged...I humbly ask you to retain your interest and occasional input on this board and hope that you can continue to provide facts and opinions for the future: both are valued for different reasons, both have space on this board, and both should be shared regardless of the relegated few who only represent the fringe of Buffalo fans. No matter what, thanks for your time and efforts.

    Tim,

I echo what Matt says. It's of great value to chat and ask question directly to knowledgeable sports writers. The banter is usually positive and I think it benefits your paid profession as well as it benefits us here.

What I don't understand is why you seem to take ridiculous posts seriously or sometimes become frustrated with people who disagree with your synopsis. Threatening "shut this down" because some moron is asking you to reveal your sources?

  2. not really. if you have coordinators from 10 years ago ingrained in your memory you might want to leave the house once in a while. there is more to life than tv and computer screens

The problem with your argumentation, as some other rational people have pointed out is that you used false info to make a point when in fact, the reality of the situation that you falsely describe could be seen as a positive for Billick as he seemed to bring on 3 successful d-coordinators in a row when they were taken from his staff. Not bad, eh?

You don't need to be a computer geek to realize the imbecility of your claims.

  3. The Whitner coaching excuse holds no water. None. He has been outplayed by a street free agent and a WR at SS and a rookie at FS. Wendling is a better special teams player.

That sub-4.4 40 time is a joke. Was he timed by his agent for that? His world class speed comes when he is fired out of a cannon at the circus.

that's combine time. electronic. so your joke, as clever as you think it is, is completely wrong. So....

  4. After the debacle that was the 2006 draft (othere than KW), we kept hoping DW would show something other than the ability to play multiple secondary positions at a mediocre level and "leadership" skills. Then there were those fans who vehemently defended him saying that it was the rest of the defense who sucked (correct, they do suck but so does DW), or that the coaches were playing him at to many positions or he's a 91 on Madden so he must be good.

But after this season it is clear, Lil Donte was simply one of the worst first round picks in the history of the team and continued the tailspin that the Bills are in. He was to small to play SS and to slow to play CB. Now a WR and a rookie start over him. Another Marv Levy miracle!

I don't know what it is about Lil Donte that I never liked. But one thing was clear, he was a terrible pick and a VERY average player.

Good bye Lil Donte, please keep your mouth shut in the future little man.

One thing: too slow? He ran a sub-4.4 forty. Speed is not the problem.

  5. I'm still a Jauron backer. The guy is a leader and a teacher who played the game and whom the players respect and play hard for. The problem is the talent on the roster. This O-line is just horrible. After watching three preseason games, sorry to say Hangartner is no better than last year's starting center Duke Preston who is now a 3rd stringer in GB. Levitre couldn't carry Dockery's jock. That's a pretty good indicator of just how piss poor the talent is. And they draft an undersized DE in Maybin who's a project and not expected to contribute this year holdout aside. The only guys that are legit quality starters are Lee Evans, T Owens, M Lynch, M Stroud, A Schoebel (maybe but getting old), T McGhee, and maybe E Wood ( rookie). That's it...Billichek couldn't win with this pile of crap.

The one problem with this argument is that this is Jauron's 4th year and this is the team that he created via the draft and free agency. He picked Levitre and signed Hangartner. He chose Maybin in the 1st rd. And on and on. It's safe to say he responsible for the personnel as well.
