  1. why do we debate qb or line, no debt or competitive stadium etc. To compete whether its on the field or as a business we need it all fairly soon or we are on the way to middle of the back, wanning interest and then out of town. At some point we need a dynamic owner and front office with a bigger vision. i live in SCC country and we remind me of the schools that enjoy being in the conference and going to a bowl vs a Florida looking to compete fof the championship. Think South Carolina.

  2. hey, we can argue all kinds of things about the last 10 years and whose fault is was. Bottom line results are proof points that the organization is weak. An organization has to be stronger than the select people. You need a plan including attracting and retaining good people. For example if we are hiring an old Gm why not get a young up and comer to work for Buddy and groom him? Why not get depth on your roster? Why not make a big move for a QB at some point? How about getting a strong leader on each side of the ball? A succession plan for the owner? A long range plan for a competitive stadium with some sponsorship money? We might make some good tactical moves here and there in the draft but it wont be enough to build and sustain a winning team. This is a failing business being targeted for acquisition.

  3. after another boring season we went into our fountain of optimism known as the off-season. Then we hire Buddy who says he isnt an exciting hire now an uninspired head coach selection. If we can follow up with a quiet free agencey and a predictable draft things should be on par with the last 10 years or so. Absent a bunch of wins early I think the attendance will drop off, even in Buffalo. I hate to say it but this run may be Ralphs last. Then things turn for the good or we are out of the NFL. Not a strong last effort(unless of course, they win)

  4. understand your market and the conditions you play in before you rebuild the team. Get a passionate tough coach(I like young). Get McClain in the first and trade back in and get Tebow late first. You know have smart tough leadership on both sides of the ball. Then build lines, running game and get speed at running back and tight end. Dont need a classic passing game and it doesnt fit the identity anyway. Tebow can make all the plays in an offense like that

  5. Why is he nuts? Our D Line looks pretty good right now...you know we were a top 10 ranked D and 3rd ranked rush D before injuries killed us last year...

Our interior line was hurt more by the lack of push on the outside once Schobel went down. They just doubled Stroud on every play.

I could be wrong but I'd say the top 10 D (and 3rd rushing D) went out the window when we started playing decent teams more so than JUST because of injuries. I'd also expect Stroud to be doubled almost every play regardless of Schobel...until we get another legit tackle.

  6. What kind of question is that? I'll answer just to see your ridiculous reasoning: Yes

Now answer me this: What has Whitner done that makes you think he's more of an "in the box" SS then a FS with decent instincts? If you answer that he's a "Hard Hitting" SS like Deep2Evans then maybe you need to watch more football.

What have you seen that makes you think he's a better FS than SS? One play where he was playing like a complete warrior for us with a separated shoulder (which must have been extremely painful). Even with the shoulder he wasn't exactly diving at ankles was he? Cut Donte some slack, he's our SS. Play football long enough everyone gets trucked eventually. If he's healthy next year I expect we'll see a new level of play from him. Just my opinion.

I like the addition of strength in the middle. While it might not have been exactly what I expected I think we are really building to at least give ourselves a chance for something special in a year or two. So long as they're comfortable with Maybin and Byrd and have a plan on how to use them I'm fine with this draft....a little disappointed we lost our 4th but so it goes.

Maybin: Wasn't too happy here but I've kind of warmed up to it. Don't really know how likely it is that he'll be used in a versatile/disguised manner potentially off the line, but I'd like him and Mitchell roaming back there with our two DE's getting after it and Stroud giving push...we may have a few nice blitz's on 3rd...or not. C

Wood: Not sure why we took him but I have to say I love the depth and the commitment to the middle. From everything I've read he seems to be a potential anchor for a while. I like this pick. A

Byrd: Weird. Obviously the ONLY way it makes sense is if he can play safety....no real way to tell now but he can pick the ball off and play tough so we'll see. Not the best of picks. C

Levitre: I don't quite understand how the middle of the line will shake out but that's because we have more guys that (in my mine) should/could be starting than spots. That is great thing to be saying about the middle of the line and regardless of how this next year turns out I really think it'll work out well for us in the long term. B+
