I did. It's cherry picking and riding the "Fire McD" wave.

Criticism has been RAMPANT on the Bills inability to be less "Josh Allen-centric."  That's consistent since 2020. There's only one way to do that, run the ball. We have tried to get better in that regard.

NO.  The one way to do that is acquire a REAL WR2.  the Bills have tried everything imaginable to improve the roster other than improve the 2nd most important position.  And here we sit 6-5 with leagues toughest remaining schedulte facing us.  Having two superstar WRs would do a lot to mitigate mcdermott's mismanagement of clock/timeout's/challenges etc.  i personally believe they won't do it because Coach McTroops hates managing diva receivers (like Diggs).

Put all of your feelings aside. Pretend you’re a GM and you have to build a football team from scratch. Who do you choose to become the leader and face of your franchise? Do you go for the unpredictable generational phenom or the pocket passer w/ longevity?

Trevor Lawrence is really catching on and by the end of this season I think he will be firmly in the top 5 supplanting the overrated Justin Herbert. He’s not as fast or strong as Josh, but I feel his athleticism is an underrated aspect of his game. He is more than capable of picking up a tough 1st down w/ his legs. Although he threw 4 picks in the Wild Card, he’s usually been great at protecting the ball and letting his playmakers shine. A lot of people compared him to Andrew Luck coming out of the draft and that’s exactly who I think he’ll turn out to be. Andrew Luck w/ a much longer career plus a ring.

Allen’s stock took a 2nd hit last Sunday dropping his last 2 games and many in the media and this board are wondering if the league has finally figured him out. There’s a lot of speculation that his style of play is just not sustainable, too reckless, and he will hit a wall like Cam Newton did. He continues to throw costly interceptions and take unnecessary hits. Regardless, he is 52-25 in the regular season and has proven he can win games solely on his own. John Brown, Cole Beasley, and Diggs have all posted career years w/ Allen under center so he does make the players around him better.

If I am building a team I still would pick Allen because when he is fully locked in, he is the best QB in the league bar none. Josh plays off emotion and instincts. He needs to a better job of harnessing his strengths and taking chances only when needed. Talent is is no longer an issue. Diggs, Kincaid, Knox, and Davis are all very solid pieces.

i am not a lawrence fan AT ALL but i want a guy with enough brains between his ears not to kill us.  i'll let the mafia decide which guy that is.

Because everyone's freaking out about everything with this team. The owner's a racist, the WR swears at everyone, and the QB needs to grow up and watch more film.

actually that is all true.  but it doesn't preclude them getting their act together and winning the super bowl.  they have beane's drafting and coach camo's game management skills for that.

  4. Always thought he would have a huge impact and happy I've been right.  He was awesome here last time around and I thought it was a big mistake to let him go.  Imagine the problems that could have been avoided here last season if we had a big tough guy in the middle who actually wanted to play!  (cough cough STAR)  It's not outlandish to say we could have avoided one or two of those crap losses last year and had homefield.

I'm not expecting to see him this weekend, but I'll just hope for a miracle because I picture him just slobberknocking tua on Sunday.

  5. See I would go with Davis in that argument.  I'm not against lifetime achievement awards per se, but I can't agree with leaving out a dominant player whose career was cut short by injuries.  It's the Gale Sayers defense.

Who was better Curtis Martin or Terrell Davis? I go with Curtis because he had a longer career of success despite Davis' better years are better than Curtis'.

  6. I just saw the list of 25 semi-finalists for Canton.  It reminded me of a difference of opinion I had with a Steelers fan who happens to work in local media where I live.  I'm not going to say anything bad about the guy, because it's not his fault he was raised to like the Steelers.  I view it as sort of a disability.

Anyway, Tony Boselli and Alan Faneca are both on the semi-finalist list this again year.  Setting aside the tackle-vs-guard part of the argument, which one of these guys is more deserving (if either) of enshrinement?

I say Boselli, who was the most dominant player at his position for several seasons.  Remember how much trouble he gave Bruce Smith?  He was known around the league for being one of a tiny number of players with the ability to slow down #78.  He was just a truck.

The Steelers fan I'm debating says it's Faneca.  He had a longer career with more All-Pro honors (due to the longevity, of course).

Boselli had a shorter career because of injuries.  But at his best, I say he was far better.  I admit you have to respect 13 years of excellence, but Faneca was just never an indomitable as Tony Boselli.

Anyone have an opinion on this?

Sean took over a team that hadn't won anything in 17 years.  January 2000 was our last play-off appearance!  We all lived through it and it was UGLY.  Many players and coaches couldn't make the Bills a winner despite tremendous fan support.

Now I see posts about "winning signature games" or if we lose to the Patriots it's a disaster.  Crazy and stupid!  It's the NFL in 2020 and most teams have a very good QB and can win against any opponent.

IMO Chuck Knox was the best coach in Bills history.  He took a losing franchise to respectability and back-to-back play-off seasons.  He assembled rookies and veterans to build a strong team.  IF he got his indoor practice facility, an aggressive GM and a upgraded contract he might have stayed around.

Marv Levy was an ORGANIZER!  Not a great head coach.  He had the best team in the NFL talent wise.  He refused to make 'adjustments' during a game and felt the best way to win was to let the players do it.  Four Super Bowl losses should fall on him.  No game planning and no adjustments. Kelly could only do so much but didn't coach the defense and a lot of his success was due to ad-lib plays and Thurman Thomas.

I respect Sean and the 'process'.  It's working and Buffalo has a good, NFL competitive on the field each week.   GO BILLS!

I'm not sure about McDermott being 2nd, but I definitely agree about Knox being 1st.  That's another one Ralph ran out the door who should have been here and winning for a long long time.  That 1980 team is one of my favorite Bills teams ever.

  8. Serious question.

Ever since this guy was hired he has made countless head scratching decisions. Watkins trade was #1 and the list goes on.

The draft was all Whaley, so Beane was left to improve this team with FA pickups. He ignored the oline, ignored our CB and WR depth, traded away basically a rookie 2nd round LB who is now starting on the best team in the league and got rid of our 2nd string RB without replacing him.

Whaley got so much crap as a GM but I can't remember the last time a Bills GM made so many stupid roster moves in the span of a few months.

If Beane was trying to tank (which he was lets stop pretending here) this is no way to do it. You don't trade away young talented players without any replacements. We have draft picks yes but since when has this franchise ever been good at drafting players.

I'm a Mcdermott believer but I don't trust Brandon Beane . This guy has no idea what he is doing and his inexperience shows countless times. How can we trust him to find a franchise QB.

too soon. but i hear you. i'm skeptical also.

  9. ....yup...one player trade is the sole fault of this offensive offense.....the proficient QB reading the entire field (COUGH) has nothing to do with it...............go do your homework......yipsters unite.....

one man forcing them to not crowd the line of scrimmage CHANGES THE GAME. I know Taylor's not great. We still could have won if we didn't sabotage the season with this awful trade.
  10. nothing Watkins did here justifies the usage of 2 first round picks on him. Injuries happen, other things happen, but unfortunately, Watkins is tied to those picks given up, and compared too other WRs in his class taken far lower with better production. Watkins showed flashes. That being said, he hasnt proven hes worth the inevitable asking price at the end of this current season.

    WHAT ABOUT RIGHT NOW.
  11. let me get this right, youd rather win a coupla more games, have a worse draft position, and probably lose Watkins at the end of the season anyways while getting absolutely nothing in return?

watkins is oft injured, with a possibility of having great upside. he hasnt proved it yet, hes going to want huge money, and we dont have a QB that can use him correctly anyways......so ya, should of kept him....smh

u guys realize that the stack the box and make Tyrod be a QB defense that everybody uses, has been that way since Tyrod played his first game right? With or without Sammy, it doesnt matter. overpaying for a WR when u dont have a QB is pointless.

if he wants "huge money" we can franchise him, if he's worth it, or let him walk if he isn't. To me, just dumping him for 2nd seetlike just another Buffalo inferiority complex.
  12. Yeah but it's even more about the 57+ minutes of the game that they didn't have Watkins.........no fear of the big play in the passing game leads to a much more aggressive defensive front and more congested passing lanes.

Tyrod actually has played the best 2 consecutive games of his career the past two weeks........made a lot of accurate throws.........it can get a lot worse if he reverts back to his mid-season form of last year.

I'm with you 100%. If he could have had someone there to stretch the defense even a little, we may not have even gotten to that point. And what frustrates me the most is this hunch I have that they're just reflexively dumping guys who just maybe dared to roll their eyes at McDermott's happy horsecrap. I hope I'm proven wrong on that.
