Works for me. I'm not going to pretend I can evaluate 4th round picks vs the alternatives, but lack of secondary depth killed this team last year so was certainly a good area to address.
Wrong. Lack of run stoppers killed this team last year. Our pass defense was one of best in NFL. Not saying we don't need depth but your statement is false.

Trade down and grab Matrin, obtain another Rd2 pick and bundle both Rd2 picks (maybe include a 3rd or 4th next yr depending on trade values) to trade back into late Rd1 if there is a guy still there that is high on their board?

With the recent FA acquisitions and trade for Williams plus how deep this draft appears for OL, it wouldn't surprise me to see a trade back and pick up 2 OL's with our first 2 picks in this draft. Think about the talent in this draft and how relatively inexpensive the rookie contracts are. We could end up with the most dominant OL in football for several years for cheap.
I believe we have a solid receiving corp and may have adequate TE's in Chandler and Moeaki if the staff feels he is completely healthy.
I wouldn't be mad if we can trade back a few slots, pick up and extra 4th-5th round pick and get a couple OL studs to secure our line for years.

Past - Mike Singletary, Ray Lewis, Kevin Greene, Barry Sanders and Steve Young.
Current - Peyton Manning, Antonio Gates, Patrick Willis and JJ Watt.

It is always darkest just before the dawn. There is a new dawn coming, I can feel it in my bones! Be steadfast in supporting our beloved Bills. Otherwise, the past years of long suffering will have gone for naught. How sweet it will be when the diehard fans get to experience the pinnacle after seemingly endless years of devotion to this team!!

Never thought I'd get choked up, but I did. Thank you for your love and dedication to the Bills and Buffalo, Mr. Wilson. May God bless your family and the Bills!!

At the end of the day if you have a right money manager, there's no real difference between 8 million and 10 million a year.
That is ridiculous. Of course there's a difference...a $2M per year difference. That $ managed appropriately can do a lot of good for a lot of people or that difference alone sets up another generation of your family for financial independence. Silly statement.

A pass?????? How about some credit for once!
Man, these bash the front office threads are annoying...I start one highlighting the good things they have done since the start of the offseason, and it gets locked. Someone else starts one to complain...not locked. Priceless.
First off, this front office has:
Traded Sheppard for Hughes = grade A: Sheppard is worthless and Hughes is giving us production on the field
Signed Lawson and Leonard = grade A: Based on value, these were two very quality signings
Did not OVER pay Levitre = grade A: You dont over pay for guards, just ask the Titans as they have wasted money twice now doing it (Levitre, Hutchinson)
Traded essentially Tavon Austin for EJ and Kiko and some change = grade A+: This was a steal
Draft grade overall = A: When your first four picks are EJ, Woods, Kiko, and Goodwin you earn an A for the draft. No way the old regime would EVER draft Kiko...this one did because it saw talent and did their due diligence...the old FO would not have even had him on their draft board (see Vontaze Burfict who I think would have been drafted by this regime)
Traded for Thad = grade A: Considering what we gave to get a QB who proved to be capable of being a quality backup and a guy who can win a game, thats an A\
Hired Marrone = grade B: I like Marrone, I think this was a good hire and he was a hot candidate for other teams and our guys signed him.
Hired Pettine = grade A: This guy has made a big difference on this defense, especially considering the insane amount of injuries we have had to withstand from KEY players on defense.
Hired Hacket = grade C-: This guy called a better game today and is getting better. And this is more on Marrone than the FO anyway as he was his guy.
Negatives: Not bringing in more help at Guard for depth at the very least, and not keeping T Jax. T Jax is negated by the pick up of Thad, who as far as I am concerned is pretty comparable to T Jax anyway.
I find it comical that people just think an entire football team is rebuilt in one off season, including QB and the Skill positions. This FO has done a pretty good job in its first season together and I love the direction of this team.
WE ARE LITERALLY 4 or 5 plays from being either 6-0 or at least 5-1. This is a young team who has been hit very hard by injuries (Starting QB, both RB's, backup QB, #1 WR, #4WR, #1 DB, #2 DB, #3 DB, Pro Bowl S, starting DE, starting LG, starting K) who has battled EVERY week til the very end.
This team is headed in the right direction. There is a lot of promise and potential with the team the FO put together...and for once, this team has something exciting about it and reason for hope. Hate towards the FO is soooooooo misguided right now that it is not even funny.
I'm a glass half empty kinda guy (working on that) yet I agree with you wholeheartedly. I'm excited for the future of the Bills.
Now we need to get a SB win before the world ends within the next 20 years...

BUF CAR YDS AVG TD LG
Spiller 16 103 6.4 0 46
Jackson 12 30 2.5 1 5
Hmmmmmph! Hard to sit Spiller with numbers like that, isn't it? If Spillers number was called he would have had that TD not Freddy. Lets stop overreacting at one games stats. The season is long gentlemen and we will need both of them to be productive and can't expect that it will be both at the same time all the time. It's called balance....some of would do well to learn it.

27-20 bills

I don't understand how this is a topic after ONE GAME. If CJ rushes for 150 yards and a TD or 2 next week this topic dries up. CJ was the more productive back last year and maybe he and the new staff need a game or two to make some tweaks to get things rolling. If we are still talking about this after 3-4 games then we have a topic with legs. Until then I will assume Hackett and CJ know how to play football.

Brady 37
Bills 24
Beers 6+

SF may dump Colt McCoy if they can't engineer a trade. I'd rather see him than either Leinart or Beck. Batch would be good.
-
Over react much? I believe minor to be minor.
-
What round was Brady drafted in? Bottom line is none of us ever know how any pick is going to turn out long term. If coaching/FO like a QB at #8 or #41 then they pick their guy there and coach the most out of them as possible.
I'd be fine with Barkley at #8. I believe he has the potential to have a better career than Smith.

This thread about Buffalo Chips has me oddly excited!
-
The only logical solution would be to rename it Bradyball.
-
If we eliminate the act of kicking the ball, wouldn't we need to change the name of the sport?
Are you ready for some Oblongball?
-
Our offense won't score and our defense won't make a tackle.
We will TIE! We can't win under any circumstance....
-
My questions were somewhat rhetorical and tongue-in-cheek. It's just hard to believe the level of ineptitude and idiocy that has plagued this team for over a decade. In my heart I'm saying they can't be THAT bad, can they?.....but my head knows they really suck sweaty donkey balls from top to bottom. Sad, sad realization that has finally overcome what was once hope and optimism. I'm a defeated fan with no hope left.

Is it possible that this organization is intentionally losing to improve our draft position for the next draft? It's almost like they are trying to do it without making it look obvious. There is too much talent on this team that was seen last year and was improved on paper in the offseason.
Something just doesn't seem right. I smell funny business. Is this possible, probable or plausible?
