  1. My bad I meant the Tampa Two. Home with the kids today, and trying to post while making lunch, cleaning and taking down the rest of the decorations.

Well yes but tampa 2 just means a LB drops a little deeper to protect the soft spot underneath the safeties. Still not so much an alignment thing.

THe bills biggest problem is personnel, not coaching or alignments. We dont have a good front 4, theyre pretty avg and in terms of pass rush theyre awful, the numbders dont lie.

  2. I can't stand this cover-two defence. Atleast when Phillips and Williams coached the Bills the Defence was fun to watch. Now the crappy defence maches the crappy offence. I liked the 3-4 loved the 46, both of which this team would benefit moving to. If we went to a 3-4 Stroud could stay in the middle and Williams and Johnson could probably kick out to end, Denney seems to b a better fit for the 3-4 and we could dump Schobel and Kelsay. Even Mitchell and Poz would look better in a 3-4 moving Poz outside and making Mitchell an inside backer. Anything but this dreadful cover two. Even teams that have good talent and run it are not being successful with it anymore, Colts defence sucks this year, and the Bears defence was average at best. I am sure we will be the last team in the league to switch away from it realizing once again later then everyone else it is no longer effective.

you realize that cover 2 has to do with pass coverage not the defensive alignment right? 3-4 defenses play cover 2!!! so do 4-6 defenses, and i dont think theres any team that play that.

Cover 2 only means the safeties have the deep halves of the field with the LBs and CBs protecting underneath.

And no our DE's are bad enough we dpont need them exposed in a 3-4 defense where theyd have to run around even more!

  3. Ive played for many years and in college. No matter the weather conditions 22 seconds is enough time to run a running play and setup for a field goal, and yes i know the clock stops in college.

yea hes F-ed up lots of clock management but this particular play is not Insane or stupid or any of that.

if anything the fault lies in not having players know wtf is going on....duke preston.... jackson running away with the ball?? but the actual play call wasnt.

its amazing how some sports writers B word about game strategy for a game theyve never had any real involvement in.

  4. Count me among those who thinks Marty is the ultimate re-tread who is solid in the regular season but lousy when it counts (5-13 career record in the playoffs). Also, I don't know if I can take a coach who is MORE conservative than Jauron.

Exactly. He beat up in the AFC west for a bunch of years, big deal that division was awful for a long time. But he could never beat anyone else in the playoffs.

  5. let em tell you I dont listen to your local announcers I live in NE. I have not been happy with the pick of Jauron since the beginning. I gave him a shot he had 3 years to prove himself. Yes his recortd is a model of consitnecy 7-9 boy love to keep that record going. But the facts are pain and simple he had a 5-1 start to the season, he is 0-6 in his division and he didnt beat a single team witha winning record at the end of the season. To me that is a major decline considering last year he was 4-2 in the division and got at least 1 win agains a team with a winning record. Dick is a yes amn and a softy. Buffalo is suppose to be hard nosed football the reason for me being a fan I loved the toughness of them, playing in all tyoes of weather conditions and usually coming out on the rights side of things. We need a coach that wil bring an idenity to this team.

JAURON IS NOT IT PERIOD B-):P

I dont disagree. The point of this thread is to highlight how we lack the horses to get us to the playoffs too. our WRs and TEs are pathetic no matter how much we love them. Its not always coaching when the same guys fail to produce under different HCs and OCs, it doesnt add up.

  6. the bills don't scheme well. thats on the coaches. they were predictable on offense and deffense. with that said there are players on the current roster who need to leave town. the offensive line is too passive so a change there would be nice. only one tight end is worth keeping and thats the rookie Fine. we realy don't need roscoe parish. they need to replace ellison at outside line backer. imo it is a combination of both players and coaches or lack of.

Thats my point, its a combo of players & coaching. not JUST jauron. I dont care if he gets fired, but a new coach without new players isnt gonna be that much better. Its just not.

  7. The Dolphins aren't any more talented than the Bills, yet they won four more games. Simply put, there are no more excuses for Jauron.

Who is better than Porter on our defense? no one. hes made a huge difference for them this year with timely sacks. we have chris kelsey a high motor guy.

Ronnie Brown is just as good as Lynch if not better. Jake Long is a beast, we have....?

youre right they arent much better but they are better,

Im not defending Jauron or making excuses but making the point its not all coaching, this isnt like dallas where the talent is there.

  8. Ok, I understand we all hate the coach.

Can we put the Jerry Sullivan kool aid down for a second ?

Has anyone thought that maybe we just dont have the players to be successful? yes i know coaching has been awful.

For example our QBs have josh reed and robert royal as ..... weapons? roscoe parrish?? Lee evans does he still play for the bills?

I dont think DC are up all night thinking of ways to scheme against these guys. I think Mitchell brought this up this mroning, need to bring in more personnel, especially at DE and WR/TE.

  9. Better no team at all than one owned by Ralph. Relocating is a step up from the current situation. At least if he relocates there's a chance that we could pull off a Cleveland, a St. Louis, a Baltimore, or a Houston and get a team again but without Ralph Wilson being involved. It's a risk that is well worth taking.

isnt that a bit drastic with a 90yr old owner? why not run out the clock with him, were already bad at thta, and see what happens
